The quilt is just for decoration, your not to use quilts with babies till they are past 12 months I believe. Whether you use sleeping bags, or just blankets, or swaddle cloths is entirely personal choice. We have 3 swaddle cloths, 2 sleeping bags and blankets in any case. Buy plenty of muslins and you can wrap them around the mattress over the sheet so that if baby sicks up you can just remove the muslin and not need to wash the sheet. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Oh, thanks! It seems like the shop assistant spotted the newbie and wanted to have a good sale!! I did not buy anything at the end because they did not have the moses in stock, and only now I see that the stand is not in stock online either. I might go with an Argos offer of both for £45. If I do not need that many, I could order from mamasandpapas with their current 3x2, so I could get 2 fitted, 2 flat and 1 blanket for around £30, that should do, considering the basket has one bedding. I thought it was a lot, had I bought what she told me to, I would have spent over £60 in bedding for a moses!! Thank you veeeeery much!!!
All this walking around shops and reading reviews is making me feel like I need lots of things! It is so dangerous to go to these places!! I am loving the Medela Swing electric pump with calma.... but I am not loving the price, cheapest is NCT at £99, I am thinking of trying ebay for a couple of months, sometimes they sell them sealedvand new as unwanted gift for half the price, there is currently a listing at £50. Has anyone got this and is it worth the price tag? The reviews rave about how it works and how comfy it is... but... anyone here with experience on this?
Savage, my bum has increased 2 sizes+!! I think all my fat storage for the milk is going there, I could do with a bit more of boobs, though, but I have yet to know how to redirect this extra volume! Lol I am not too worried, I am a very inactive person, when baby arrives the whole looking after her will be like intensive gym sessions for me! Plus BF, which I heard burns up to 500kcal a day, that's my whole breakfast and more.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

marta, I bought a second hand swing on ebay then couldn't resist the offer of an £80 new one when I went to the baby show so I now have two (one new, one used). If you're interested in the used one let me know. I paid £56 + postage for it second hand off ebay (but with new membranes I think!) - also not sure if it has a calma bottle.0

marta you don't need half the stuff the shop assistants tell you. If you want to know if a certain item is worth it ask on the newborn thread, its no good a pregnant lady who has never expressed telling you how good a pump is but a mummy who is using it regularly etc will be able to help more. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

i remember when i went to the mothercare event, i was being naive and thinking, awhh arent these women working in here sweet as they want to help us? lol. then dh told me to be careful as they do want to sell, sell and sell.Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

marta and other pregnant ladies - you don't need a moses basket at all. Our LO went straight into the cot. We saved ourselves some money plus had no problems moving him from the moses basket into the cot. As for the sheets, we have 4 fitted sheets for the cot and 2 fitted sheets for the carrycot.0

Where is that newborn thread?
Savage, I might do, but I want first to try to get it new as they come with the calma teay and bottle aswell. I saw 2 on ebay for under £65 (New). Where did you buy yours? Have you had any child before? Have you used it?
I did not know you could use a sleeping bag with a newborn, is there a specific kind for newborns? Or any would do?
Sillymoo, I thought of that, but DH decided to get a moses and a cotbed, as opposed to a cot and a bed later on. Our room is not too big, plus we did not get a carricot with the travel system, so the moses will be moved from room to room with us. I wanted to buy a cotbed from the start and put a divider, but moses is a gift from MIL so that ended the argument, lol.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Once baby gets to 10/11lbs most 0-6 month sleeping bags can be used
We used swaddle blankets for the first 8 or 9 weeks and then moved to sleeping bags. x
Edit: Medela Swing is amazing. I got it for £100 at Boots last October but got it on a special points offer so ended up getting £25 worth of points back, so spent £75 on it and sold it on for £55 on Ebay after a few months of use. So I only ever spent £20 on itIf you plan on expressing at all then it's a brilliant pump. My baby wouldn't latch and I pumped exclusively for 3/4 weeks. It was worth every penny x
