Rups, I would not worry too much, I have not ever counted them, but I do know she moves a lot, so I do not need to keep track that much.

This is from "What to Expect when you are expecting":
Week 29 Pregnancy Tip: Counting Baby's Kicks

Have you counted your baby's kicks today? Once you've passed week 28, you should be counting them every day. To make sure that you do — and to make sure that everything's A-OK in your belly — make a habit of counting your baby's kicks twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. Best to do your counting lying down (since babies are more likely to kick up when Mom's lying down — a pattern they tend to continue after they're born). If you can't lie down, sit. Count any and all movements (even swishes and rolls) until you hit ten. If you haven't reached ten within an hour (your little Rockette may just be on her break right now), have a light snack and try again — that blood-sugar rush is likely to get baby on the move again. Just remember that fewer than ten movements within two hours warrants a call to your practitioner. Chances are everything's fine, but it's always better to be safe than sorry.

Mumsnet, however, recommends just to track your baby's pattern; as it might be different from baby to baby: http://www.mumsnet.com/pregnancy/monitoring-baby-movements

    This is from BabyCenter:
Here's one common approach: Choose a time of day when your baby tends to be active. (Ideally, you'll want to do the counts at roughly the same time each day.) Sit quietly or lie on your side so you won't get distracted. Time how long it takes for you to feel ten distinct movements – kicks, punches, and whole body movements all count. If you don't feel ten movements in two hours, stop counting and call your midwife or doctor.

So... different places recommend different things... aish... what a surprise... why can't they agree? Lol

Rups it is 10 per day Hun. I've got it etched in my brain after all the times we've been in for monitoring. x

you don't count hiccups but you would know if it is hiccups as its a rhythmic movement. you don't need to differentiate between kicks and rolls it just has to be a movement. A lot of the American sites and literature say 10 per hour etc but like I said we have been in hospital numerous times over reduced fetal movements and have been told by numerous consultants and midwifes it is 10 per day, which is what you said you thought it was anyway.

Thank you for that LittleMoog. From the media, it seems the booster will def be available in England and Scotland but things can be different in NI :( btw, could you give us the link to that birth plan that sexymouse posted ages ago? I thought I'd bookmarked it but I haven't and searching the thread didn't work either.

    Here it is: http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/birth-plan.aspx#close

You can fill it out online, but I just printed a blank form and handwrote it.

I can only tell hiccups apart from other movements because they happen in exactly the same place every 5-10 seconds or so for a few minutes. Otherwise they feel like the normal movements that I feel. I don't try to distinguish other types of movements.
