newcook, I didn't have any morning sickness at all, I am A+ , sorry if theory went out of the window lol :D I did not have any real or intense food issues either (cravings or putting off food), nor do I have heartburn... but maybe that one will materialize later. I have been really tired and sleepy, though, sometimes it was very bad and I kept yawning and feeling like I was going to fall asleep at any minute even though I was doing huge efforts not to! Not good when you work as a teacher, though!! I think my students thought they were boring me to extremes! :rotfl:Every woman is different, I guess. My muscles also relaxed very quickly and lost a lot of support around the back, which gives me back aches and also meant I had a tiny bump from week 8-9, noticeable at 12 (but people thought I had just put a bit of weight)!! I haven't had issues with varicose veins, I sleep with my legs raised every night, just in case. However, I have stretch marks since the first trimester!! They are fading now in some areas after intensive treatment, but I think they will keep appearing from now on, as I will just get bigger and bigger. Honestly, I feel massive! I will try to put a pic of my bump and see what you think.

Thanks for the whooping cough link, I was vaccinated when I was a child, but I guess I might need another one, I will ask my mw next week, when I'll be meeting her.

    Welcome to the thread JT100!!

And 28 weeks (and the dress is tight and falls a bit, the bump is very collected and does not show that much)

I had to remove my rings and watch weeks ago :( I had to buy maternity jeans by week 11-12, but at the moment they do not fit me anymore because my thighs have also increased a lot! Lol

hello all. been a mad day so have been reading posts now. :)

good luck mummy of 2 and katyliz and all the best for today! :)

Welcome and congrats JT, and hope youe sickness passes by quickly. hugs..lol

Marta your bump is amazing. it has develeoped so well. i forgot and didnt also didnt take pictures from the beginning as was scared. mine still looks like too many pies at times. lol.

bikless I agree with you, i am not at all glowing or whatever we are meant to feel. still feel energyless and still tired. sigh. not sleeping well. last night bubba worried me greatly as at midwifes she said to monitor those movement and i forgot to ask how many per day/hour? doh.. so yesterday, the baby was busy and then at dinner, went all quiet and also in bed (i usually get kicked or something). this morning nothing too so was worrying. :( i went to the dentist and then i started feeling a bit and now at work a bit more. i got so scared. :(

Thanks Rups, the funny thing is that when I measured the other day they told me 27cm at 28 weeks, so I guess it should look small? Idk. Everybody keeps telling me "no long now, eh?", and I am puzzled because I still have 11-12 weeks more to go!! I guess it is just because it is quite in the center and a bit pointy, so it might look bigger than it actually is. Plus I have small boobs lol, and in comparison the bump might look also bigger!

Counting movements: They recommend to count the kicks, movements, turning arounds, ANY movement you can feel. This should be done twice a day. You should lay down (that is the best position and when babies move more) and count all movements within an hour, you should aim to feel 10 movements, so if you feel them within the first 20 minutes, you can just stop counting I guess. They say that if you do not feel them, not to worry, just have something to eat, some fresh juice, wait a few minutes and try again. At the moment I do not need to monitor her much because she cannot stop moving!! Also, do not worry, you said you were very busy yesterday with all the carpet stuff and the tiding up. The more you move, the more the baby is being "rocked" and s/he might just be sleeping, so if you have been very busy, you might not feel him/her that much that day. I think mine moves like crazy because I am a couch potato lately and I literally spend 90% of my time laying down or sat in the sofa most days.

ohh Marta, what a lovely bump you have !
Rups, poor you, get some sugar next time !

I am 22 weeks today and still have no bump and nobody tells i am pregnant yet.. This week i am quite cool about it, better for me. I was huuuuge with DD and dont want to repeat past experiences if i can help it. Still I force myself to eat, i am not hungry, not at all and have no cravings.. So i am naughty it is actually because i want to rather than because i am craving it.
Cant not wait till monday, we sign contracts and i get to start cleaning new house and decorating it !...

  • Thank you for that LittleMoog. From the media, it seems the booster will def be available in England and Scotland but things can be different in NI :( btw, could you give us the link to that birth plan that sexymouse posted ages ago? I thought I'd bookmarked it but I haven't and searching the thread didn't work either.

Rups - if at any point you're worried about movements, you can encourage baby to move by having cold drinks or ice cream or just lie down for a while. I found that gently pushing the side of my bump can do it too. If I'm honest I've never kept track of movements so I'm not sure how many you're supposed to have but if you're worried at any point, try the above. It may be helpful to keep track of baby's patterns as well. For example, mine is pretty quiet in the morning so I know not to expect too much from them. If they're still quiet by lunchtime, when they're normally kicking about, then I have a cold drink or prod the bump;)

If you can't have the jab, the baby gets it at 8 weeks anyway, it's just am extra precaution to protect tiny babies before the first jabs. It's coming in from Monday apparently, will ask my mw on Tuesday and report back :)

thanks :) not too long to wait then, i just worry when the women on the news said anyone can carry it and not know, then pass it onto the baby!

Rups, i never counted how much the baby kicked me, my midwife just told me that if i havn't felt any movement by lunch time to have a drink/something to eat and then lie down and concentrate on feeling her movements. If ive been buisy, like saturday i was walking around town all day and didnt get home until 3pm, i hadn't felt her but as soon as i sat down and relaxed she was kicking like anything :)
