You can't get away with that! What's the name?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
I've finally managed to sit at the computer to reply when the mw calls asking me if I can come any earlier (probably so they can skyve- sp? - after I leave!).
Comgratulations sexymouse! I love the name!!
moneypuddle - the thing that most scares me is if something happens to the baby. It's funny how we're all scared of different things. I can see how hospitals can scare people but I've been to hospital plenty of times in my life so the hospital itself doesn't scare me. I can appreciate what KatyLiz said about having a LO already and how that changes how you see things, but this is my first one and, to me, they're the priority. Whilst obviously I'm hoping that all will go well, like others have said, I think it's normal to feel this way. I just don't know what's going to happen so I feel I have to prepare myself for everything, which I'm finding quite overwhelming tbh. More recently I've been trying to keep an open mind about how I want things to progress, being flexible and adapting to whatever happens.
MummyofTwo - sending you lots of labour vibes your way!
Fluff - I almost chocked on my food! Still worth it though:rotfl:
Right, I better get my wee and set off before mw calls again... the delights of pre-natal care....:(:jBaby girl born 3rd October 2012:j0 -
Katy - just in case I don't get back on here later I wanted to wish you the best of luck for tomorrow. I wish I was going in, but looks like I'll be waiting a while longer as apart from lots of braxton hicks I think my little one is quite comfy in there!
I wish I hadn't told anyone about our choice of names - it's our own fault we wanted kids opinions to see if they came up with any nicknames, and they did but we still like a particular name that they made fun of - oh well not going to decide until she arrives. I still keep searching forums to see if I can find any other names to add to our list!Team pink due 5th Oct '12 :T0 -
good luck katie! :0)

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS SEXYMOUSE!!
I had my first day off in 8 days today, had to go to a parent council thing in the morning then my best friend was round for lunch and the afternoon with her 5 week old so got some lovely cuddles! I've got another 3 days off, sis in law was due to come up for the weekend as we had Lionel Richie tickets for sat night but he's postponed the rest of his tour until December due to ill health. DH and I had been talkin about getting Florence and the Machine tickets for December but as I'm due in Jan we gave it a miss just in case I'm too big and uncomfy, now Lionel has rescheduled for then! It's a seated concert though and probably a slightly older gentler crowd!!sis in law will hopefully still come up for the weekend, she's letting us know tonight.
Re names: we are now not discussing with friends/ family as they are too opinionated, I really liked Isaac - still do but hubby not too keen- my mum wasn't keen and my friend said "would you not be worried his friends would nickname him sack at high school?" lol! My mum is pushing for Andrew which is what she'd have called one of us but got 3 girls. I might start doing the same as fluff and just pretend we're considering something ridiculous so any name will sound normal. I have a long list of girls names I love and not many boys ones. My best friend had narrowed it down to 2 for her l/o and I love the other one but probably shouldn't steal it in case she has another!MARCH GROCERY CHALLENGE £118/ £2500 -
Speaking of quiet threads... I found this one on the second page of the board:o are we all trying to buy something off ebay before 10pm?;)
Good luck tomorrow Katy!
Mw appointment today was actually much better than some of the previous ones. I spoke about my fears and they tried to reassure me, bless them. I found out that if baby doesn't make an appearance by 41 wks, I'll get an induction then! They arrange it when you're 40 weeks here  I'll be 41+6 at my 41wk appt though so it's not as bad as it sounds. I'm wondering if I should re-arrange my appointments so that it'll be at 40+6 instead...:jBaby girl born 3rd October 2012:j0
