Afternoon all
Still no news from MMM and sexymouse? Fingers crossed they're getting lovely mummy cuddles and are too busy to log on!:)
We went for a tour round the hospital with our NCT group last night, and I was surprised to find myself absolutely terrifiedI've never been stayed in hospital before, or visited anyone or anything, and I was completely terror-stricken. Have calmed down now, but I'm actually quite surprised at myself as I'm not normally squeamish or worried about medical stuff at all so it was completely unexpected
I was seriously considering arranging a home birth when we got home last night, but have decided I need to brave out the hospital, as my mum had serious problems in labour with me ending in an emergency CS, and I'm very similar to how she was in build, and have several similar medical conditions, so I'm not comfortable with a home birth either! Have talked it all over with DH and come up with a strategy to minimise the amount of time we spend at the hospital if at all possible, as we're only a couple of minutes drive away.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Hi ya, hope everyone is ok today !
Wow, it is not raining and I am at home, sorting everything out, packing ordering things to replace what DD has broken, looks like we are moving to a new house before 25th October and I am well excited, need to sort out the rent today and that is it.
Why are some men so unable to provide emotional support ? My dh is sort of freaking out about baby , life, being married... he booked himself a holiday with my in laws yesterday, I was not happy, today he said sorry andv added me and DD to go with him and his parents to Portugal in November. So We are going to Portugal for 11 days after hopefully moving house ! I think i will need a break after moving....Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -
Savage, Yes, that is what I meant also, that not because you are a woman or a man you have to act according to stereotypes, if you have a more masculine way of thinking, it implies that you favoured it as opposed a feminine way, via positive response of the environment, the way you were brought up, the results you obtained with that way of thinking, etc. What I was trying to say is that the sex you are does not necessarily imply a set of behaviours, and although a certain set is found more commonly, there are individual differences that can be explained by context, society, family and friends influences, and for some people these stereotypes do not even apply, in some cultures these are also very different, etc. Here men avoid touching each other, cross the border to Spain and family and friends hug each other, touch arms and shoulders other times, in other cultures a kiss on the lips would not be weird, whilst in others the personal space is massive. In some cultures, cooking is a feminine thing, in others is a masculine thing because it shows control and skill, in others only outdoors cooking is masculine (such as bbq), in others certain dishes and drinks should only be made by men. The perception of what is acceptable for a certain sex changes with culture and time. I think we are brought up in such different ways that later in life we might feel frustrated because of the way we have both been told how to act and behave, which does not match. The book about venus and mars is useful to see how these differences affect us even in small decisions, even if we try to bring up our kids in a more neutral balanced way, the rest of society puts pressure anyway.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Toni your HV shouldn't care about the house, I wouldn't worry hun mine just played with the kitten most of the time and told me about some local groups and things. We've already got most of Jakey's christmas presents, because he's only going to be a few weeks old it's mainly clothes in 6-9m and then he has a teether set, an inflatable ring, a V-tech bear and a Lamaze toy.
I only asked when your birthday was as mine was in August too and I thought we couldn't possibly share a birthday and a due date lol. Have you had any twinges yet? I've had loads but no sign yet
My mama pack came this morning it's really good, loads better than the bounty pack. Only thing I'm gutted about is it didn't have soap nuts in lolol xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx

I didn't get one, Rups:( I had one morning when I felt vaguely enthusiastic about cleaning out the cupboard under the sink but other than that, nothing."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Happy due date tigerwhite!
thank you! :T
I'm in the 30's now so I'm happy with that
All ticking along nicely at Colli Towers. the nursery is nearly finished, I think everything has been bought. Just have the bag to pack for the hospital now. What on earth am I going to do for the next 10 weeks (or 12 if I go overdue) ?? :rotfl:0 -
thanks Ikkle, i just worry lol, i think im just going to end up buying a few clothes for bubs for christmas like you, a couple of toys and something that says my first christmas on for her to keep
nope no twinges or any signs at all yet, just her kicking lots! lol. My midwife told me yesterday that nothing could bring on labour apart from maybe playing with your nipples for 20mins in the morning and 20mins in the evening, dont really fancy that at the moment, dont want sore nipples before i start breastfeeding lol.

Toni - never worry - she'll come out when she's good and ready! And don't blame you - wouldn't even want mine touched for 20 seconds let alone 20 minutes!
I so want to go baby shopping but there is nothing I need - got it all last time.
Nesting stage? - actually willing cleaning the house? - must have missed that the last time. Hope i don't get it this time either - it sounds postively awful! lol!0
