Rups - you're brave to face waxing! Yes, you guessed it right, there's nothing we can take for food poisoning. Saying that, last time I had it really bad (my 1st trimester) the hospital gave me those sachets that you mix with water when you're losing too much fluid. I forgot what they're called, but do you know which ones I mean? Sorry, can't help you with your vouchers, I hate Debenhams with a passion. They messed up my wedding gift list big time so I don't go there anymore if I can avoid it- although I might have to for my nursing bras...
I only got some cereal bars for my bag. I got some lucozade but apparently it's the wrong one? It's got to be the sport/isotonic and not light ones? I love lucozade so I'm happy to buy some more!:jBaby girl born 3rd October 2012:j0 -
hmm yum lucozade.. i love the orange flavour. so if we take some, we cant take these normal ones and those sporty ones? shame debenhams messed up your wedding list.
i like them but at times i get fed up of them too. when they have sales they are good though. i knw which sachets you mean. they give those to replace lost salts etc and are yuck!!
yeah i have no choice but to get threaded which i wouldnt cope on my face ouch.. so waxing is quicker. when i have bubs and money i think i will invest in laser treatment. hate being so hairy. dh laughs at me at tmes too.Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

I do not think we could generalise, society makes us different because we are brought up in different ways from the start, from what we wear, what colours we have around us, the language we use, the toys we use, the sports we do, the beauty routine we are encouraged to do... That does not mean one cannot break the circle and the stereotype, but it is very difficult and peer and culture pressure might make it even unthinkable for some. There is a lot of cultural influence in what we perceived as feminine or masculine, and it keeps changing with time. My dad cooks better than my mum, makes beautiful cross stich cushions and landscapes, is very creative and empathyses better with people than my mum. It was just the way he was brought up. I, on the other hand, prefer gadgets to flowers, like diy but also love cooking because I love food, but you won't see me nearby an iron and I am rubbish at gardening and with plants in general. I think it all goes down to how you were brought up at home plus the effect your friends had on you, we kind of copy behaviour when we are young to fit in. Gender stereotypes are reinforced and they persist, but that does not mean that is all and there are no individualities or resistance to comform with it.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

marta, I agree, but there is a general pre-disposition too in terms of brain activity. I'm more 'male' in the way I think and act as well.
The 5 languages of love book is interesting in that it lists 5 ways people (male and female!) act when they want to show that they love someone, and how if the way one party shows love is different from that which the other one does a breakdown in communication can result - both do love the other person, but are just not doing what the other person expects them to.0 -
Afternoon! I have read back but forgotten everything - stupid baby brain!
Rups - only thing for food poisoning is to wait it out! Doctor advised me to drink flat sprite as it helps with hydration and all the sugars mean you are getting a few calories in. It falls under their dry foods and clear fluids spiel. I have admit the flat sprite did help last time I had food poisoning - think it was about 2 months ago. I lived on dry crackers, flat sprite and water for about 3 days.
Sounds like you had a fab day yesterday. (Happy belated birthday by the way) Not all husbands are romantic (and at the end of the day he wanted to marry you!). Mine was at the beginning but its kind of stopped now as I persuaded him I'd rather he saved the money on the grand gestures and did little things for me instead. Stupid things like cuddles, hugs, treating me to a ice cream if we were out that sort of thing. Nothing big or fancy as its just not my thing. I did like your line of "when I have the baby and money". I think I'll never have money again - and this is the cheaper stage of a child's life! It gets more expensive as they get older! Lol! :rotfl:
Don't go mad with toys!! It's astonishing how many they will get given at birth, Christmas, 1st birthday and so on! We have had to ask people to get Ds clothes this year if they are wanting to get him anything as our house currently resembles an entire aisle of a well known toy shop!!
I've had my lunch and am now at the post-lunch sleepy phase!0 -
its true about culture, how we been brought up and ur right savage, expectations. in my indian culture the way men sometimes treat their women is appauling and just see themselves as a provider and nothing emotionally is expected. so weird. saying that nowadays there are some indian guys, who are a bit 'modern' in that aspect and more caring. dh is so like his dad. I saw that yesterday when me and dh were chatting. just wants to be the man as in providing and making sure we are ok. when imoan about silly things like flowers, he says he has paid for the roof on our head. lol. i think things have slid into place for me now. i mean we are married and expecting our frst baby. surely that means something? think my bday brought something else in my brain lolBecame Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Sorry, I should have explained better. As far as I know we can take both lucozades (fizzy and sports) during pregnancy as they don't contain caffeine but for hospital bag, my mw said the sports one is better. Yeah, I used to love Debenhams but I rarely go now... oh, well.:jBaby girl born 3rd October 2012:j0 -
thanks nephthys. your post came through as mine did.
rightly said there!
i realised that when we do go out, he pays (unless i say something and he lets me), he will get me little icecream treats here there. i just used to moan about getting more affection in public etc but i am sure it will be ok as he is not like that. he gets so uncomfy when he sees couples snogging and stuff. weirdly we did all that when we first started dating haha.. i guess things change but i shouldnt focus on that.
i still wont stop moaning about giving me s-x as he ir rubbish and always tired.
