moneypenny21 wrote: »It does help thank you - we want the Rialto nursery set :rotfl: snap! Was the nursery bedding one of the latest ranges? The one we like is one of the newer ones (typical!- couldn't have been one of the discontinuing lines which are 50% off of course!).
I think ringing them before we go is the way forward, thanks for the tip
Congrats on your little person
Oooh I def recomend the Rialto, very sturdy
We got the bedtime hugs set, it was discounted online too but it had a bit more included in the outlet. I think they did have newer bedding, but also had some older ones which I had never seen before and were equally lovely.
Give them a ring and see what they have in. Hope to see you on the NB thread soon !! xxLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

Twinkle im with you on the work thing, im a supply teacher although supply very limited round here lately and also work a few hrs a week as a vet receptionist to fill the pay gap. I cannot imagine for one minute that I would have managed working full time especially teaching. I dont have any supply this week so thats me done untill i decide to go back to it and finish at the vets in 3wks but 3 more wks of very part time is still enough to tire me out.Rachel

Had a hard day at Uni today. Well morning lol. But it's enough. Got a lovely pedicure and it was soooooo relaxing. Then managed to get a vaguely comfortable pair of heels for graduation whoop!
Night of feet up I think. Baby been very active tonight and had a few bracken hicks.

I'm a supply teacher too, and intend to work as long as I can physically manage since I've found I'll only be able to apply for SMA rather than SMP due to insufficient earnings in my qualifying period (typically the qualifying week was half term so no earnings at all that week, and it included the Easter holidays with 2 weeks not working too). Had a text from the agency to ask about my availability for the first week back in September, and I've told them that unless the baby comes early, and as long as I'm physically able to, that I'm free all week for work. It's unlikely that much will come in anyway though, as this academic year I didn't end up getting any work until nearly the end of October, and my maternity leave starts 28th September. Luckily I'm going to be working tomorrow all day and Thursday morning this week, so a little bit of income for me. The people I babysit for also want me to look after their children roughly 4 days a week over the summer holidays, so this'll help too as I won't have any income then otherwise. Will wait to see how frequently this ends up being though as the eldest child doesn't really need a babysitter as she's 13 so often goes out with friends etc, and at Easter when I looked after them both, the boy had cricket club in the afternoons. At least I can sit down and watch TV etc when I look after them though, so it's not too active.
Glad your first day back went well though twinklie.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
I was going to ask if you're off to Graduation - mine is supposed to be tomorrow for my PGCE but as I did undergrad last yr I thought it best to go to work and earn some money! My teaching (dance) ends this week, and I found Week 32 the worst as I taught 6 out of 7 days and was exhausted!
Now, I'm part time in a building society and finding the travel the worst, and worrying that I'll go into labour as I'm working up til week 38... oops!
Hubby stressing me out, keeps trying to have serious conversations about how we have nothing in common except we love each other - hello, we've been married 4 years and at 5 and a half weeks before baby comes, can't he just look after me?!! boo!
feeling even bigger today, meh. baby wriggling around a lot in work though which makes me happy
yay Rebekah! Gemma, I'm sure you're only a couple of weeks before me, how are you having a baby so soon??! Looks like there is a mothercare event near us when we are 37 weeks so may be off to that as just missed the last one. See how we feel on a sunday morning!
(((hugs))) to all xx

thanks moneypenny and katyl. i will ring them tomorrow. i rang my mum to ask her about it and she started saying what do i expect esp as the baby was big! grrr. so i had to tell her off and say well if at the 13 week scan the baby was toooo big then she would have said somehting no?
anyway am trying to rest and thought would make all these calls tomorrow. have left a message at the epu and then will call the ward. actually might do that now if they are about 24 hours... i am sure i will end up at the epu.my bellys feels weird but now it does feel like stretchy pain type of thing and also along bikini line a bit on right hand side. what if the baby is too big? as the GP said it was way too early at 16 weeks for baby to start moving about to cause pain. such conflicting informaiton. humph.

Your baby won't be too big hun. At 13 weeks the baby is approximately 7.5cm long. By 17 weeks baby is approximately 13cm long. So in the space of 4 weeks bubs has almost doubled in size, and now your uterus is approximately the size of a canteloupe melon. That's a lot of stretching and things have to move out of the way to make way for your uterus and the baby - it's normally the stretching that causes the pain and discomfort. It is possible to feel bubs move at 16 weeks but most people don't until nearer 20 weeks because tbh at first it feels like bubbles or trapped wind.
You've said it yourself, if there was a problem they would have mentioned it at the first scan. If baby was measuring big at your 13 week scan they would have dated you further along than 13 weeks because thats how it works they have measurements they go by, so the fact your mum thinks the baby was big at the scan is utter tosh. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Twinklie - I'm a teacher too and I have said that my last day of work will be the day before I'm due!!! I get sooooo bored over the holidays anywayand if I take maternity leave much earlier, I'll have to be back at work by Christmas :-( as hubby will then be off to look after baby bump!
I'm lucky in that we break up on Friday and don't go back until the 4th (which is when I'm starting maternity). I'm due on the 10th. I'm moving next week to go and live with my DH in Wales, so couldn't manage the 2 hour commute to get to work anyway. :rotfl: You are defo a braver lady than me though. I know for a fact I'm done. Perhaps if you are at it all the time your stamina is there, but after having 6 weeks off on the sick, I'm dying. I'm in so much achy pain, struggling to stay awake enough to make sense. I also have a 40 - 45 minute commute down a stupid motorway with stupid drivers (4 near misses on the way home because apparently my car is invisible) which doesn't help things.
Basically, I'm ready to finish and will use any excuse to justify it. :rotfl: My hospital consultant said I had to finish at 36 weeks no matter what anyway! So I guess I'd only have another 3 weeks after this one.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

And just to add as well, I started with SPD and ligament pain at 14 weeks and in the end was signed off work, so it's entirely possible that it is just stretching and ligaments. Remember your body isn't used to pregnancy, it's got a baby that weighs around 140g plus your placenta plus the amniotic fluid and that's all localised in one area, if that's on a nerve etc it's going to feel strange or ache. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
