Rups I agree with Ikkle. It grows very quickly in those few weeks. Without meaning to sound rude, it sounds like your mum often seems not to reassure you but to further worry you. If they thought the baby was massive at your scan they would have said something to you or written it in your notes. Always best to get pains checked out though. It's quite early to feel movement but as baby is growing quite fast the uterus is stretching a lot, a few cms doesn't sound like much but it is really.

You sound really worried, there's no point worrying all overnight about it. Maybe just ringing the hospital and speaking to someone who knows what they're talking about would put your mind at rest and allow you to get some sleep tonight.

Oog and Jedi thank you for the cd recommendations, will check them out on amazon. I know some people think its mumbo jumbo, but I'm willing to give it a good shot, even if it just relaxes me a bit.

I'm feeling quite nauseous, but hungry at the same time. Might have to leave my bed and hunt in the kitchen. OH left me cake but I'm fancying something savoury....hmm yeah I'm off

i got quite annoyed at my mum to be honest. thought she could shed some light, firstly as she has had four kids before and secondly, she works in the labour ward at Queen Elizabeth Hosp in Greenwich. what is she like? i got so busy saying hi to DH as he has been away at kung fu and i have been at home with brother in law. Thinks that distracted me for a bit. i will try labour ward now. hopefully not too late!

student - yeah off to graduation thursday its at 10am we have to pick up robes at city hall at 8am booooooo

looking forward to it tho - my mum and dad are flying in wednesday so be nice to see them and my dad meeting my other half for first time
really struggling with my cankles tho - my new shoes are ok but i tried on a gorgeous pair of rieker ones that were just delicious but at £50 i couldnt justify it at all!

If you're going to phone in 'office hours' it may be worth ringing your ante natal clinic as ours normally has a midwife (although not today as I found out!). Our pregnancy assessment unit place is like a drop in, you can make an appointment or just turn up if you're worried. So if it's not too far may be worth just turning up rather than phoning. That's not at the hospital down the rd but at the main hospital. I had to go once to be followed up and that was about 19 weeks. Which is also why I suspect for your area the cut off might be 20 weeks too if that's what your midwife said.

littlemoneysaver, do you mean the early pregnancy unit? yes i think i will turn up there. i should go tomorrow but havent told my manager and havent got my work laptop at home. ;(
