emsbet - tiredness has been up and down throughout my pregnancy, found out after my 28 weeks bloods that my iron was low and following taking iron tablets it hasnt been as bad. now finally on mat leave can have a sit down when i want- doing hypnobirthing CD once a day (lasts 40) mins, normally fall asleep listening to this.

little_miss_moneysaver - this is the hypnotherapy birthing CD i brought http://www.amazon.co.uk/Effective-Birth-Preparation-Hospital-Centre/dp/1905220502/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1342455392&sr=8-2

it was recommended by my daisy birthing teacher. i wont know how well it has worked until i give birth. i only started listing to this CD at 37+5 - so its never to late.

silly moo/ elj2287 - hope your babies make an appearance soon.

i am 38 weeks today - hope baby stays put at least for another week, have lots of things i want to get done plus more time to listen to my hypnotherapy birthing CD

i took about 2 hours cleaning the bedroom today - sorting out drawers, tidying, hoovering. i plan to thoroughly clean a room everyday - i think i will do the office tomorrow.

Re grandparents presents - my parents brought cot bed set (£200) and my mum buys me other bits and bobs. MIL put £100 towards pram and has brought us tonnes of clothing and bits and bobs, its her first grandchild so she is very excited.

Cant believe Rebekah will have her baby by now :) if anyone hears anything let us know

    evening all,

    33wks today
Had a resonably good day today, been to work this am and then made pastry for the pie for dinner before heading off into town for a browse.

Booked my place at mothercare for the 8th Aug, i have my birth unit tour on the 6th so busy that week and its my first wk of mat leave too.
Got a couple of bargains in the charity shops, managed to pick up a lovely large yellow mothercare blanket for £1 and a mothercare fleecy/knitted 2way hoody in beige/brown 3-6mths for £1.

Sat quiet now for the evening, as tues are a split shift day at work so will be shattered by 7.30pm tomorrow.

Hope rebekah is now having cuddles and has forgotton all about her last couple of wks anxiety.

sending huge lablour vibes to both Silly moo and elj2287

Hugs to anyone who needs them

  • Ok, I know this is creepy but I've done my detective work. Rebekah's OH has posted a pic on his Facebook. Little girl born at 2:22 this pm. Picture is adorable. No name though yet. There's more details there, I know Rebekah said she won't be on til the weekend, but I don't wanna announce it all. But looks like all is well :)

    So congratulations Rebekah :j :j

First day back at school went well. Although I feel like a zombie now. Only 4 more get ups...must keep telling myself that. How you ladies work to 36/37/38 weeks I'll never know. I'm only 32 and it's killing me.

Twinklie - I'm a teacher too and I have said that my last day of work will be the day before I'm due!!! I get sooooo bored over the holidays anywayand if I take maternity leave much earlier, I'll have to be back at work by Christmas :-( as hubby will then be off to look after baby bump!

So, after having a rubbish booking in appointment months ago with midwife, I saw a different midwife last week who said ' have you booked a place on nhs antenatal yet?'. I told her that I knew nothing of anything (!) and she said she'd get the number and let me know - I got the number today, rang up and they said that I should have booked weeks ago and there was no chance at all :o I had a few choice words for the woman on the phone to say the least!

AND(!) OH and I were going to book NCT ages ago, then didn't for one reason or another and OH then got asked to be godfather to his friend's children. Anyway, it transpires that the christening is on one day when we would have been NCT-ing, so we have been looking tonight for other NCT courses so that we actually know what is happening in labour/after labour/before labour! All of the courses for Sept due dates are either this weekend, the weekend of the christening (which is in Cornwall and we are in London/Essex) or the day that we're going to the Olympics!

Aaaaaahhhhhh!!!! I'm going to go into labour and not have a clue!!!:eek::eek:

    Anyway... rant over - help!

Hope everyone has had a good day!

Has anyone been to the Mamas and Papas Factory Shop in Huddersfield or Stoke? If so, what sort of stuff is there? We want a cot & dresser and one of the current lines of nursery stuff. Would be grateful if anyone who has been thinks it is worth the trip. Both are around 2 hour drive for us which I'd be happy to forego if they are rubbish :)

Hello, I was just snooping on here to see who has had new bubbas :o and saw your post.

I've been to the M&P outlet in Stoke. We had our eyes on the Rialto nursery set and wanted to see if they had it in there cheaper. They didn't so we had to order it from M&P direct but they do have some really good stuff in. It does depend on what you want though, most of it is old season or ex display, some has some slight damage, i.e. scratched or chipped, but some is perfectly fine. There was a lot of prams when we went, which were perfectly fine but were just the ones which had been on display somewhere.

We ended up buying our nursery bedding set of : curtains, bedding, blanket, lampshade and sheets for £99 instead of £200, we also got the cot mobile for £12 instead of £30 and a cuddly toy for £6.

When we paid at the till, the lady did say that you can call them up before you go and they will tell you if they have your item in stock, if they do they can reserve it for you.

I think its a good place to go, it was just unfortunate they didnt have exactly what we wanted when we went, but it wasnt a wasted trip.

    Hope that helps. x
