    Morning Ladies,

Congratulations Rebekah and Oog , Baby brain means I can't remember if I have already said something :(

Still ill, I have mucus everywhere, lady bits/nose/throat even my ears are full of wax :( not feeling very nice today.

OH has just spent 15 minutes trying to convince me that mucus is sexy to make me feel better. There is no way mucus can ever be sexy!

Rups, hope you get reassured today.

Won a bulk lot on ebay with bits i mostly wanted but it included a moses basket i dont like (we are using a crib as im not a moses basket fan) and so we planned for it to be kept at my mums as a bed for bump when he is here and we are at her house.... It is so ugly though that it offends me... Yellow crushed velvet! I really cant live with it so my question is can I buy other covers for it... I.e a whole new canopy and lining? Is that possible? It has no brand as far as im aware. X

It says further down the page what size it fits. I think most Moses baskets are of a similar size but it shouldn't take you a few seconds to measure the one you have :)

    Sam x

If you don't manage to find any I wouldn't worry too much Sam. I didn't go to classes before I had my first, and although the birth experience was dreadful I don't think classes would have made any difference. I just looked most of the information up online. The only thing I would have liked to have had is the social experience, but as long as you go to mother and baby groups afterwards you'll get that anyway.
Hubby stressing me out, keeps trying to have serious conversations about how we have nothing in common except we love each other - hello, we've been married 4 years and at 5 and a half weeks before baby comes, can't he just look after me?!! boo!

    (((hugs))) to all xx

I know exactly how that feels, hubby did that to me when I was 36 weeks pregnant with my 2nd. He announced that we needed to talk about having nothing in common and how boring I was. Two nights later he decided to leave, but he was back to normal by the end of the following week, realising that it was just the pressure of having a second child to look after and provide for that was freaking him out. Of course he scared me and caused a lot of stress at the time, yet he's still here 6 years later! It might be worth talking to your hubby in case he is feeling pressure or worry, I think it can be hard for men to realise why they are reacting the way they are. And it is a major change for them too. Hope you manage to talk things through and he starts looking after you.

Rups - hope you finally get hold of someone today.

emsbet - hope the hips ease up for you.

  • Congrats Rebekah! Hugs Kitten hope you feel better soon! Rups hope your mind is set at rest today. Happy 32 weeks Emsbet!

Ok, RANT alert warning! Couldn't log on to the forum AGAIN last night! That's about the fourth time in a week! It let's me go through the whole process, thanks me for logging on and then redirects me back to the forum but without being signed in! OH was a total pain last night - very stroppy and had one on him so guess who got the brunt of it. Then he send sme texts this mornign saying he is sorry and when I don't respond he tells me that i can't stay mad at him forever. perhaps not, but a text the next day does not make up for the fact that you ruined my evening and make me feel like cr*p just because you were tired and were fed up. I have also had two people tell me in the last twenty four hours that i look 'bigger'; a tip for the general public, never tell a pregnant woman that she looks bigger. It is too ambiguous and can (and will in my case!) be taken in the wrong way. You can say that bump has popped, or that bump is on show, but never ever say 'bigger'. Grrrr.

On a positive note, plastering is now complete, central heating is fitted (I am so impressed with what they have done!) painter is in today and OH's dad is picking up the flooring for us today! yay! My best mate's Dad is a retired chippie and he has said he will come and put in some bespoke shelves for us _ I think we could probably persuade him to do the skirting as well! I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel......:T
  • Morning all!

I don't think I've been awake properly at this time for weeks! I actually slept from 11ish last night with a couple of wee breaks, but straight back to sleep. Didn't even hear OH leave for work :) still a bit achy from yesterday's adventure though.

Rups I think different places call them different things. I think ours is early pregnancy assessment unit or something....I dunno really thankfully only needed to go once. Just tell your boss you'll be a bit late or something. Good luck, hope you get reassured :)
Emsbet hugs for your achy hips hun, try and take it a little bit easy today if you can. Yay for 32 weeks :j
Kitten hope you get well soon. I'm with you, mucus is not sexy :( But your hubby sounds so lovely trying to convince you it it :)
Student Mrs sorry to hear hubby is being silly, sure it's like Katy said and it's just nerves. They do pick their moments though.
Dizsie that does sound offensive. For some reason I have a yellow mustard colour in my mind. Can you take off the cover? Sometimes it's a lovely plain wicker basket underneath.
Clarissa hope your midwife appointment goes well
Elj and Sillymoo sending big labour vibes your way. Hope your babies make an appearance soon :)

We've got our first antenatal class tonight. I'm actually quite nervous, I think because it's finally dawning on me that we're having a baby! I know I'm a bit slow. The hospital didn't get back to me with a new scan date yday. Did ring just after four but guess they'd all finished so will chase them this morning. I know they're short of slots but a 28wk growth scan at 37 weeks is just daft. Did they think I wouldn't notice?! :rotfl:

Hugs to those who need them, hope everyone has a good day :)

((hugs)) Missmonkeymoo. I hope you and you DH make up soon. Re the getting bigger thing, I have a friend who kept calling me fat and when I pulled up on it she said "oh it's ok to call pregnant women they're fat because they are! In fact it's the only time you can call I woman fat"!!!!!

LMM, have fun tonight, mine start on Thursday. I'm super excited as it means it's getting closer to when we get to meet our little boy :)
