    hello all...

another unproductive day at work! :p thanks for thatbook suggestion. i think i will buy that :)

I had in mind what i was going to type and now all has gone out of my head. doh!

welcome back savage. hope you had a fab time away. :)

also Happy due date Emsbet. Glad you are ok Cake and the babies too. :) will def keep ear plugs in my bag too! :) hehe

regarding a coat, i was going to say primark too, as they are cheap and can be worn and chucked when not needed. i need one too! mine doesnt even close up and think DH was saying to get rid of my old ones, so can buy new ones next year! yay! :)

met up with my HR woman. Gave her that MATB1 form and kind of agreed a date to leave. so i leave on the 7th of December! yay! already looking forward to it. :)

at 25 weeks, my belly is big but i'm glad (touchwood), despite people giving me stupid comments. today i was chatting to this woman who had been on holiday alone and i said i admired that. i always want to go with DH but now he is a boring sod. lol. so she said to go with her. i said i cant now as little one will be here soon and she said 'oh you are pregnant? i thought you had put on weight?'. i just laughed it off. some days i want to kill people like yesterday i told off the aircon guy when he said to me again that am i sure i dont have 2 in there? grrrrr!!!

Just found out there's a baby show going on at Centre:MK in a few weeks. Thought it might be usefule for any Herts/Beds/Bucks ladies :)

DH and I are going to pop along to check out baby carriers, as he wants one, but isn't sure about the wrap style one we've been given. I'm not sure there's anything else we need to get now, once I pick up the stuff from my sister I think we're all set, apart from clothes. Need to see if we have a boy or a girl to buy any more clothes, as we have exhausted the unisex ranges of most shops now!

Although I would like to ask *Twinkle* what double did you get? (I am assuming you meant a double pram) Am debating getting one but not sure!

Hi, i got the iCandy peach blossom 2, you can use it as a single or a double, it's expensive but well worth it :)
    Skint, but happy (ish):p

  • Thanks *Twinkle* that's absolutely gorgeous! I have serious pram envy! (its out of price range and I'm being good but it is still gorgeous!). I remember looking at the icandy cherry when I was looking for DS but decided no. I still wonder if I would have preferred it! However realistically DS would have been out of the carrycot in less than 3 months and not able to use the seat unit too easily so I think I made the right choice! The dilemma is will DS still need use of a pram when junior arrives. We will probably just decide come January if we still need one and then order it but I like looking at them now! Probably cos I already have everything and just want to have one thing I can think about getting! Lol! :rotfl:

How come there's never any baby events here!? Although probably just as well as I would go and have a look and then get things I don't need! :D

LittleMoog we have a mei tai and DS loved it when he was wee but he's not keen on it now probably cos he hasn't got used to being carried at the back. He loved the front carry.

Marta have to agree with everyone - you spend what you are comfortable with. and that amount varies per person! There is no right or wrong amount. We started our list with the absolute essentials and then added in the things we wanted. Then I got looking for bargains. DH was happy so long as it was within the budget! Way to go on the travel system bargain - that was brilliant!

Moneypuddle - I think its normal to be apprehensive and scared. It is a big life changing thing to go through whether its planned or not. While pregnant you are focussed on getting ready and doing all the practical stuff - and then at the end you kick into gear and start think about the reality of it all.

I remember bursting into floods of tears with DH one night as I was convinced that something would happen to me when I was in labour and that I wouldn't be coming home. Thankfully he said all the right things and didn't try to laugh me out of it. I was genuinely terrified - no idea why probably the unknown aspect of it all. You can watch all the programmes you want and read every book and bit of advice available but your labour and delivery will be different to everyone elses! I'm not being particularly helpful am I - I can't seem to say the comforting words that are in my head!? I think all I'm trying to say is that you are doing the right thing in talking to people and definitely come on here and talk about it cos i guarantee most of us have had the same thoughts. I am most definitely having them again this time round and poor DH will have to listen to me again!

I have just eaten my lunch and still want more - is it any wonder my tummy has got bigger. Obviously baby is vying for space with the food baby that is currently in my stomach! Lol! :D

Happy due date Emsbet - hope you're doing ok.

Rups - I can't decide which date to go on maternity leave. Have to ring HR and confirm when. Unfortunately they are sometimes as helpful as a chocolate teapot but maybe i'll get someone who knows their stuff!

Sigh - another essay. Soon you'll all be wishing i would go back to lurksville and stop talking so much!
  • Happy due date emsbet!
Thanks for that list savage. I still need a few bits so it's nice to know how much of each is recommended :)
I'm glad all is well with the girls cake!

I've not been up to much today. I'm still having constant strong pelvic pains since straining myself on Sunday. Not sure if I should start getting worried, DH wants me to call mw just to double check.... baby has been moving as normal if not more than normal, but then I've not been as active so it may just be me noticing it more.

Anyway, I better get my washing out whilst the sun is still there. I also need to sort out my laptop...

Hey Nephthys i know what you mean. i was the same and even today i wasnt sure so went with 2 weeks from due date (24th of december). They said it is not set in stone and if iget more tired and fed up and want to leave earlier, i can let them know so just went for that. i also have 7 days of holiday left so am hoping from there if i dont use them all, i can stick them on there? its just made me hopeful that in 2 month's time i can be off. it of course depends on bubs and he/she could be here earlier? eek!!! :0)

    cant wait now..

hmm bubs is a bit quiet today.. come on wake up!!

  • I really need to remember that google is not my friend right now. I've read a story of someone who lost her baby at 7 mths after carrying something heavy so I had to call mw, who reassured me all is well. I'll still mention it at my next appointment though. No more googling!!

  • Happy due date Emsbet! Good to have you back Savage! And Cake, so pleased everything was ok! Sexymouse I love hearing about your cat; my daft tabby is sulking with me at the mo, but my tortie is still giving me lots of love and attention!

Bought a skip hop changing bag off ebay; seller said it had only been used a couple of times and was like new but that wasn't the case! There were marks (looked like nail varnish) on the changing mat, crumbs and grease stains on the lining on the front pocket and the front zip was broken. Emailed seller to complain and they asked for photos so have just sent them off - will wait and see what she comes back with.

Had midwife appt this am, all is well baby is now 2/5 palp and once again midwife has said it could be any day. Seeing as this is what I was told two weeks ago I will not hold my breath! But, she has booked in to come and see me at home a week tomorrow with a view to carrying out a sweep (if I decide I want it) if baby has not made an appearance. So I guess I am just playing the waiting game now; I am lucky in that I can still get around and I can still actually walk without waddling (!) but I do get uncomfortable in the evenings and last night I had the worst nights sleep in ages. Still, got all my resuable nappies, covers and liners washed today so they are all on the line drying at the mo. About to tackle the biggest pile of ironing you have ever seen and then will probably collapse onto the sofa for a kip!

Hugs to all and labour vibes where appropriate (ie, to me, lol!)
