    Morning all
Just a quick hello from me to say thank you for all the due date messages. I'm still here and still pregnant..

Saw the midwife yesterday, had a sweep but my bp was also up so she sent me to the hospital for monitoring as I also have permanently swollen feet, ankles, legs and hands. After a couple of hours of tests and monitoring they decided both me and baby were fine and sent us home. I'm glad all is ok but a little disappointed that I wasn't induced as my mw seemed certain that's what would happen.

Any way the sweep wasn't too bad but apart from some cramps initially and some bloody show, not much has happened. Although at the hospital the mw there said that baby was really low as she had to put the monitor low to find his heartbeat. This had happened since the sweep I think as when my mw checked the heartbeat prior to the sweep it was in the usual place, higher up on my left hand side (baby has been in the same position since 28 weeks!). Hopefully I don't have long to wait.

Anyway I hope you are all well and labour vibes to the other boldies.

    xx

    Morning ladies :)

So sleepy this morning, I was half an hour late for work! :o Good thing we have flexible hours, though not looking forward to staying late to make up for it! Got to do a training webcast this morning, hope I can stay awake enough to take it in :o

Need to clean our old car out tonight as DH is going to collect the new one tomorrow :j Planning to go for a swim as well, but might have to wait til tomorrow.

  • Ladies... I'm stressing myself out over here...

Baby was so active before that he was making me sick because he wasn't stopping moving and the kicks were really strong I could see them.

Over the last few days he hasn't been moving as much and I can't see the kicks through my tummy anymore... he is still moving but not as often or as much...

I have an anterior placenta so I was warned it could affect if I can feel him but so far it hasn't really and I have been able to feel him move from really early on..now his kicks feel like flutters instead of actual kicks.

Midwife won't be available until 9am

  • Good luck on the driving test rups - try to stay calm until 2.30.

SM, I am the same re movements and pelvis feeling (at 37+4), was really painful in my pelvis last week and now movements are lower across my tummy but all across the middle but no pain further down. I was 2/5th engaged last week so who knows now. Baby never seems to move from the same place on the right so hopefully hasn't started now.

Both sets of parents have announced they are coming as soon as baby is born (4 hours and 14 hours drives respectively!), despite being asked to wait and see how we feel. Its not like we are saying wait weeks, just that give us a couple of days at home first. My mum has taken it very personally that we are still sticking to our guns about no one staying over, they will have to go to a hotel. I am actually hoping they come while I am still in the birth centre - they like to keep you for 48 hrs at least, and they only have 2 hour visiting slots. I am trying to be understanding but my in laws in particular are useless at just sitting and looking at you waiting to be entertained!

Sorry that turned into a bit of a rant
  • Dizsie try and stay calm... On the positive you can still feel movements, maybe the baby has just moved into a position that is effected by the placenta? Def ring the midwife when you're able to though.. And if not the gp. I'm sure everything will be fine x x

Candycane I completely understand where you're coming from. Is there any way that you can just not let the parents know when the baby is born? We don't intend to ring anyone when Bean is born so that they don't know to turn up at the hospital or our house anyway.

Diszie I'm sure all will be fine, but it's better to put your mind at rest than to sit and worry.
