Hi everyone,
Just a quick question really, i appear to be struggling quiet alot with my moods, and i'm going to the Drs on Thursday to discuss this more with my Dr.
I've been on and off Anti Depressants since i was 18 (I'm 31 now). I came of them when i was trying to get pregnant with DD and then suffered PND and went back on them. My midwife at the time said that if i do have anymore children, that i should go straight onto tablet after having the next baby to stop me going down the same path.
I had CBT councilling about 2 years ago, which seemed to help alittle, i just stuggle to apply it to my life. I really thinking that i need some help at the min, my relationship with OH and DD is suffering because of it. I'm not good at talking really, me and OH very rarely talk about personally stuff like this (usually only comes up in arguments) and i dont have many friends or people in the family who i feel comfy talking to about stuff like this. So that doesnt help that i'm bottling everything up.
Has anyone else suffered depression while pregnant, i'm worried that the Dr will just fob me off.Mummy to Isabella - March 2008 and Daisie - September 2012:A - November 2011 (mc)0 -

so sorry to hear that snowy. Normally Gps and midwives are so good at referring to people if you explain what you are feeling.
i really hope you can find a professional to talk to as that would help. Also the gP should be able to tell you what to do. It is so sad but they will look deeper into for you hopefully. x hugs

Snowyz81 Sorry to hear that you are feeling down at the moment. I have posted about my own depression on here a few times; I really struggled through the first trimester as I was so ill and my midwife thinks that this is what caused me to be depressed when i was 13 weeks + Some days were better than others, but after about 23 weeks when i discussed how I was feeling with her she recommended that I see my Dr. so that they could help - be that with a course of anti-depressants or counselling. She explained that they would rather treat the depression NOW and get it sorted before baby comes along so as to give us a good start. Treating it later will prove more difficult from what i understand. I didn't actually make the appt as I actually started to feel a lot better and more positive, but over the last week I have started to struggle again. Although this baby is very wanted, I can't honestly say that I have really enjpyed being pregnant - I have found it very difficult to cope with all the changes to my body and I am really frustrated at not being able to do certain things! I have a midwife appt next week so I anm going to talk to her about it again then and see what she says; I'm coming up for 32 weeks so not sure what they will suggest. But back to you - your Dr and midwife are not going to dismiss you or think you are being silly, they will prefer you to speak up now so that they can make sure you get the right support both now, through your pregnancy and afterwards.
Hope this helps x0 -
Only read from about 5pm yesterday as I don't have a long enough lunchbreak to read anymore!!
Taadaa – My parents are helping out on the housing front by paying the rental deposit (£1500) on the bigger place we are moving into & by giving us our 10% deposit (£25k) so we can buy once I’m back at work. My Dad has also been saving £1’s in a KP tin for bumps bank account…once full it should be about £500. They have been buying bits as and when they see things they like e.g a few clothes and toys and books etc.
His Mum has offered nothing but is bound to buy something without asking what we need, usually small and totally not to our taste but I don’t have any relationship with her so I suppose it is the thought that counts.
My Granddad has given us £200 to go towards our nursery furniture so basically he has bought our cotbed for us. We lost my nan 6 months ago to her cancer fight and I think this baby is really helping Granddad stay positive…plus he knows she would have fussed at being a great grandma J
Toni_ - I have bought the Groegg room thermometer because I like the fact that even in my groggy sleepy state I can tell all is good by the colour and not have to think numbers J I haven’t sorted a bath thermometer yet but have bought the Tommee tippee in ear one. I haven’t decided on a monitor yet either… I want the angelcare one but I’m not sure if it will make me even more neurotic…?
Sexymouse – what are soap nuts?
MissMonkeyMoo – A Bumbo is on my wishlist…don’t really need one but wouldn’t say no to one…:jBaby Boy born December 20120 -

Think baby gyms are the bars that go over the top with dangle toys on Hun. We've got the galt ring for bubs for Christmas x
If you ever go to the white rose they had loads of the blossom farm toys reduced in ELC.You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Snowzy I think a lot of people go through it, it's a major change to your body your life etc. I also think a lot of people are too frightened to admit they are struggling.
