I've just bought 2 sleep bras. Don't actually know if I need these or not. But figured my boobs would leak everywhere if I didn't so I thought I'd have a do with some.

EDIT might have actually bought some maternity tops from H&M too. La la la.

Nope, not after it's went in. (I didn't know this and had my OH bring me a Chicken Mayo Sandwich, and I was starving) just about to take a bite and midwife, yeah you can't eat with the epi! :( gutted doesn't cut it. 2 and a half days of pain, I got that epi in and thought, yay food. My hopes were dashed :(

I did get to eat haribo and drink fanta near the end though as there were ketones in my urine.

Can anyone else who's had an epidural say whether they were allowed to eat or not? Just wondering if the policy differs depending on what hospital you are in.

I wasn't allowed to eat with my epidural, and similar to Gilly I'd been in labour for two days by then so wasn't best pleased, lol! I was only allowed water after the epidural went in, not even tea or lucozade. I ended up with a CS, and in recovery I was literally begging the midwives to bring me some toast. In fact even with all the trauma of the birth, the first thing I said to all my visitors was that I hadn't been allowed to eat for 16 hours (I had been on a fluid and glucose drip though so was okay)! I was outraged at the time!

  • Rups thats the bag i quite like...although i have just looked at it again and it appears it doesn't have a long strap?!

Well my day has consited of boxing more junk in the loft and listing 24 items on ebay. I almost threw the computer out the window just now though cos turbo lister had duplicated 2 of my listings and i couldn't work out how to delete them...then ebay told me i could only list 10 things per month...i was swearing a lot!! managed to get it sorted now though.

Coming on here and reading the chatter has been a nice distraction....

I'm switching off now and going to bed...got more things to list tomorrow and hoping to finish the loft!

    Night all x

omg that is not on. i mean surely they know that if one doesnt eat they will have NO energy??? when i had my procedure for my miscarriage, because i was under general anaesthetic, they told me not to eat. so my surgery was planned for 12pm, and i had to eat something at 6 in the morning but guess what?? as the surgeries there happen as they do, mine was delayed till 4. i was so hungry and felt so weak. :( had a headache as well. then when i came round at around i was offered a sandwich and tea. i wanted to eat everything. it was horrid. no water allowed neither.

ooh elisabeth, the more detailed stuff on amazon said you can attach a strap or something to make it longer. :) i think i might get that as its so nice. and then i dont have to worry about a bag and can start putting stuff away. :)

we need to have a clear out too. i want to chuck my clothes away that are tight now so i can buy more after bubba arrives. :) excuse for shopping. hehe. the thing is because my inlaws are clearing their house, they have asked if we want stuff and DH keeps saying yes and i want to scream and say no because we dont have space.

I've not found any bags I like that are big enough despite having searched for hours. Instead I'm going to go for a smaller one that's cheap and pretty for everyday use of popping to shops etc. Then I'll get a backpack to chuck under the buggy for park trips and days out. My buggy has a massive shopping basket so I'll have the space.

Rups that must've been awful. I guess there isn't much they can do about it if there is a delay, but it's still horrid for you.

Hope you make up with him soon Rups, I hate it when things go silent like that.

I'd better go and try and get some sleep tonight as I've got a busy day tomorrow.

You don't need much in a nappy bag though- a few nappies, wipes, a couple of muslins and a spare baby grow and you're good to go!
