Can you not eat/drink with an epidural? x
Nope, not after it's went in. (I didn't know this and had my OH bring me a Chicken Mayo Sandwich, and I was starving) just about to take a bite and midwife, yeah you can't eat with the epi!gutted doesn't cut it. 2 and a half days of pain, I got that epi in and thought, yay food. My hopes were dashed
I did get to eat haribo and drink fanta near the end though as there were ketones in my urine. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Gilly - I've had an epidural twice before and was allowed to eat both times (I didn't fancy anything, but the MW's actually encouraged me to eat). Were you actually not allowed to eat?
Nope see post aboveBelieve me I was starving!

Can anyone else who's had an epidural say whether they were allowed to eat or not? Just wondering if the policy differs depending on what hospital you are in.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

spoonfulls of honey were recommended by my yoga teacher for when you're in labour but can't face eating anything. lots of energy and no chewing needed!
hope everyone has had a nice weekend. We ordered new carpet for the nursery today, it's being fitted in a couple of weeks so we've got a deadline to get the junk in there sorted and it painted0 -

I was told they don't recommend you eat as there is an increased chance of c-sects with the epis and they need an empty stomach for that, also with any pain relief too there is a chance it'd make you sick xThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0
