Triangle and KatyLiz thanks for replying to my post. I have no clue about babies and I thought a routine would help me :D

savageHK good idea about breast pump.I will invest in a good one and I will have to use it. My concern is that I might not have enough milk to feed my little one and don't want to hear her scream as I will be very upset :D

Rups, yes this is my first one. I've booked my 25 week appointment with my GP too. I wonder if they will measure our bumps. Mine is still quite small and it will put my mind to rest if I would knew that is NOT that small... Hospital bag!?!? We are just 23 weeks Rups:p. I think I will start thinking at that after my 28 weeks MW appointment.

    Good luck for Friday Beany!

That's good that everything is going well twinklie :) There are so many people with not long to go now, I wish I was a couple of weeks closer!

I'm getting worse at sleeping. The last couple of nights I've kept DH awake a lot, but last night he said it was worth it as he got a nice kicking from baby (she'd been very quiet all day, so we both appreciated that :)). I feel horrible as I'm really looking forward to Wednesday next week when the kids go back to school. Then I'll be able to rest up for the last month before baby arrives.

I'm pleased today as the consultant anaesthetist has written clearly in my notes that I need to be given an epidural as early in the labour as possible. This is a relief as I know I won't have to waste energy arguing for it. That's one less thing to worry about!

Why did they say this? I was told this at my 20 week appointment but they changed their mine by my 34 week one.
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.

I need it because of a previous heart condition. My heart can't regulate properly in times of panic/stress so my heart rate goes dangerously high in labour and causes baby's heart rate to rocket too. They can prevent this by giving me the epidural at the earliest stages of labour.

Good luck tomorrow ikkle, hope you get the outcome you are hoping for.

When I can't sleep I listen to audiobooks on tape (old skool ;) ) I have the first 6 harry potters which are brilliant as read by Stephen Fry. I put the volume just loud enough to hear so I have to concentrate on it a bit, and it helps me block everything out so I can drift off. Each side is 45 mins, but I'm normally asleep after 10-20 mins. I had to do it this morning after being kicked solidly for about 40 minutes while suffering with heartburn! The joys of pregnancy ;)

This is exactly the same as me but I download from Audible to my iPod or iPad. I buy one book a month for 7.99 and usually choose one that lasts about twelve hours and this does me for a month of bedtimes. I can set the iPod to turn off after 15 minutes and I'm always asleep again before it turns off.

  • Evening ladies,

Just lost an epic post as my phone battery went, really can't be bothered doing it again, you have all been spared from a massive rant, lol.

Anyway the only useful bit of the post was to say to Moneypuddle my best friend has just had a baby and she suffered from horrific restless legs in her 3rd trimester, like you she was still working full time and only getting 1-2 hours sleep a night. She literally would breakdown crying every few days from the exhaustion. Anyway someone suggested tonic water which helped her loads, she had a glass at bedtime and kept a bottle beside her through the night. If you are going to give it a go I'd phone your midwife just to make sure as its the quinine that helps and quinine is related to caffeine and taurine, her midwife was happy to ok it though. The other thing you could try is a magnesium spray, it's oil based and you massage it into your legs at bedtime- you'd find it in holland & Barrett or similar, it's quite expensive though so maybe see how you go with tonic water first.

    Hth

Night all, labour vibes to boldies and hugs to all. I'm sure I'll be on soon to re-rant!

    Xx
