I wish my dh would tell the midwives off, I was in tears first time around telling the midwife I didnt want the trainee in there begging her to make her leave but she ignored me and DH just stood there. I asked him about 5 times to go and get another midwife to examine me before he actually did. He doesn't like confrontation.
Neither does mine - but he's prepared to put his foot down after he saw what I went through last time I think (considering he walked in on me sobbing myself to sleep last night yet again over it all... 5 months down the line from it happening) - he's the one taking the harder line than ME over refusing to have me sent back to the hospital in question - he's the one proposing to drive to Leicester if needs be!
As for seeing things - unless they want to wander down the business end it's not really an issue. It was more of an issue for us last time in that I got rushed to theatre for a spinal block and forceps - he got plonked in a corner near my head but saw enough to unsettle him in the state that she came out (I forget what her APGAR score was - I'm thinking it went 4 > 6 > 8) she was very blue and floppy and he was convinced she was dead. Then as they were stitching me up (delightful little madam spun round and came flying out back to back - after having been scanned less than 24 hours before in an obliging position - little oik!) he happened to turn around at the wrong time to see one very green-looking staff member carting the bucket full of fragmented bits of my placenta (it pretty much shattered and they were yanking it out in chunks) being carried out of the room.
The enormous post-baby norks were enough to wipe all of that from his mind though! Then I got chuffing pregnant again the first time we did the deed afterwards (which was fine, despite a 3rd degree tear)!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Hi, i'm 32wks today and i'm Rh neg too and i've already had 2 lots of anti d and will have another straight after the birth, this is baby number 4 for me, i had the GTT last time, but not this time, i also am mum to a child with Type 1 Diabetes, no family history of it either
I think it depends on where you live, with my DD who is 20 mths I ahd two anti'ds whilst pregnant, this time round I only needed one as they give you double the dose in one go.
They still only give it after the birth if the baby is rh positive.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

That is what my midwife told me, I cant believe how much things have changed since i had my last one, I even had to take my own test to doctors to show i was pregnant, and all appointments with midwife are at surestart, it has been 9 years since my last child i feel like i have forgot everything and i am more anxious than the firstBaby Due Date 30/01/ 2013

Does anyone know how long people who have popped stay on the list for?? xx
I think it might be 3 months, but there's not really any hard and fast rules!
Had my 28week midwife appointment this morning, at 29 weeks so we could go over the 28 week blood results. All seems well, no sign of diabetes after the GTT last week, and iron levels look good (11.5). Was a different midwife to normal, as my midwife was covering a home birth last night, so was catching up on sleep. Back in 3 weeks for 32 week appointment.
Twinklie, I had a trace of protein in my urine today, but no other symptoms of a UTI, so just have to keep an eye on it in case something develops, MW didn't seem at all worried though.
I spent all of Sunday stressing myself out as baby very quiet Sat/Sun, and I tried all the tricks to get him/her moving, cold drink, lie on left side, sugar etc, but still didn't get much response. Went to bed on Sunday and they went MENTAL! Think they'd been storing it up all weekend, I felt bruised inside after an hour. DH was loving it though, he's never felt them so active. I asked the midwife today about the 10 movements in an hour thing (from What to Expect phone app) and apparently that's the American guidance, and it's 8-10 movements per DAY here, so was worrying over nothing as I definitely had that many. Was woken up and kept awake for an hour at 3am this morning with them bopping about as well, so no more concerns on that front :rotfl:
Had lunch at home on Sunday and my sister was there with youngest niece (7 months), she's learnt to commando roll across the room! She was chasing our poor cat around the sitting room, and giggling the whole time. Silly cat hasn't figured out how mobile she is though, so just goes a few steps away and sits down again *facepalm*Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -

Ooh when's that ikkle? We went to our local cat rescue place the other week and there were so many I'd love to take home. My fur baby is 8 now, and we've had him since he was a kitten, so I miss him being small.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

LittleMoog I don't expect anything to be wrong with me. It's just I've feeling very snotty and run down (danger sign for me for a chest infection - could lead to being admitted due to my lung disease), and I'm just unsettled I think by the new feelings and niggles I've been getting.
That said, the end result is I get my baby, so it's swings and roundabouts. Ha ha. I'm so tired though, can't believe I have to be at the midwife in an hour. I may cry. Ha ha. I just want a nap.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
