Prepared? Just a little bit lol.

The nursery is painted, with pictures up, a shelf up with a Noah's ark on etc. We've got the cotbed, crib, moses basket, bouncy chair, swing, baby gym, changing table, 400 nappies, 20 odd packs of wipes, 2 changing mats, a chest of drawers full of bedding and blankets, a steriliser, breast pump and lots of bottles, a sling, toiletries, basic first aid stuff like thermometer, a bath, bath support, baby towels, muslins, clothes sorted into size by newborn, 0-3m, 3-6m, a few 6-9m and 1 item of 9-12m lol. Got the travel system too with the raincover, car seat, cosy toes etc. My hospital bag is half packed too with maternity pads, breast pads, nighties, knickers, baby clothes etc.

In saying all that I have been classed as a high risk pregnancy throughout and have been off work since 14 weeks due to problems so have had lots of time to sort things out, plus prepare incase bubs decides to make a surprise appearance.

Having said all that I'm now wondering if I've gone a bit OTT :rotfl:

Hope they ease off for you hun. The sleep will probably do you good either way x


I haven't got a clue what Braxton hicks feel like. Sometimes my belly goes all tight like as if you had a pins and needles/cramp sensation and then it eases off but I don't know if thats them or just me being in a weird position when they happen.

My NCT teacher said that your tummy goes tight or into a pointy shape when you have Braxton Hicks - the only time my tummy goes pointy is if I try to sit up using my tummy muscles. There were a few people in my September group who've had BHs, but I'm the second-to-last due date (probably will be last as the next lady is having twins so will be due before me then), and I was worried it wasn't normal if you didn't have them. NCT teacher said some people never get them, and it's nothing to worry about either way.

I'm baaack! Got a Silvercross Freeway travel system in black with beige spots. Got the matching changing bag and car seat free so paid out for the Isofix base. Am dead chuffed with it all, can't wait to get it all out the (many) boxes!

Also got a baby grooming set, a set of 4 newborn bottles that were on offer, one of those thermal bags for bottles and some bodysuits. Didn't get everything on my list as some if their stuff seemed a bit cheapy looking. No problem - now I get to go Mothercare and enjoy myself all over again!

We have antenatal class on Wednesday SM so will probably find out then a bit more info about everything x

Wow that's soon, are they NHS ones or NCT ones? We're only doing the NHS ones, ours don't start until this Thursday. Looking forward to it although it'll be a rush for DH as it starts at 6:30 and he doesn't usually get back until 6.

NHS ones hun. Will be 29 weeks. They were supposed to start on the 1st August when I would be 31 weeks but they got cancelled as not a lot of people put their names down for it.

Ah I see. I don't know why I thought it was earlier than that - I clearly can't add 3 weeks on to my date :doh: Mine were supposed to start a week last Thursday but that round was booked up so I'm starting mine at 32 weeks instead of 30- at least there's more chance I'd remember what was said
