I am wondering whether to get a nursing chair now. We haven't done the nursery yet. There is a chest of drawers in there already, won't be buying anything else yet. Our bed doesn't have a padded headboard. But we do have a single bed as well that we were hoping to keep and there is nowhere else to put it. Hmmmm......will have to have a think.
What have the bump's grandparents offered to help with in terms of equipment, to those of you that have a relationship with them?I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

That's great that you got such a bargain bundle ikkle . I'd have never thought to look on facebook.
I really wish I'd experience this reduced stomach capacity that everyone else seems to have. I ate 4 plates of main course, 3 dishes of dessert, and then went back for an extra plate of chips and pizza just before we left. I could have eaten more, but I stopped as I felt like such a pigI am always hungry no matter how much I eat!
We have loads of selling groups locally on facebook think people prefer it to ebay as there is no fee's and it's cash in hand normally. There are some good bargains on there, we got our baby changing table from one of the groups free of charge and it was brand new.You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

My mum bought us a cotbed and mattress and bedding set from BabiesRUs when they had their 20% off offer which is great. My grandma and granddad bought us a bright starts swing for bubs as I'd already bought loads of clothes and it was on offer in Asda instead.
My partners mum passed away the day we got our BFP but we used some of the inheritance she left him to buy some clothes so that it still felt like she'd got him something because if she was still alive she would have been in the shops every day buying something because that's the way she was lol.
Neither of our dad's have bothered about the baby really and we had a big hoohaa with my stepdad who refused point blank to be excited about the baby because he said the fact I won't call him dad meant he wouldn't be a granddad, he's come around now though. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Ikkle, been meaning to let you know how much I love the changing bag! Used it as my hand luggage bag when flying with LO for the first time last week and was able to fit everything in + comfortably carry it whilst also carrying my little girl in a sling0

My mum has been mega generous. She has given me money so that I can stay off work for a year as I couldn't afford to do it with DS and she supported my sister who was living at home when she had my nephew, and she has kept everything from my nephew so we have a cot, car seat, moses basket, a lovely basinette pram from John Lewis, bath, it has saved us loads.
The MIL hasn't offered anything. She asked me if we have much to get still, and I said no just a birth to potty nappy set, and that was that. I don't expect her to be generous to the point that my mum has. But I also feel terrible that my mum has done so much more than I expected, and I know that she will be the understanding one if I say 'I don't want visitors today', whereas she has offered jack and will kick up a fuss to the point where DH probably won't want to tell her not today. I wonder if she is finding things a bit tough financially as FIL died last year, but there is evidence that suggests otherwise. I don't get it really.. in my experience most people closely related to someone having a bub would ask if they can help, even if it's something small. It's a part of them being excited as well I think. Come to think of it, she hasn't been bothering us as much as we thought she would (she would sometimes call and ask us what we had for dinner). So maybe there is more to this than meets the eye.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Went really well thanks - she's 2 months now and was staring curiously at all the lights and people at the airport and then proceeded to fall asleep as soon as we got on the plane (before take-off)! I was worried I'd be one of those people with a screaming baby that no one wants to sit next to, but she turned out to be the perfect travel companionParents with restless toddlers seemed to struggle a lot more; waiting and queueing and staying put in a seat = generally not very popular!

Hey ladies,
Hope you all are OK. Rebekah- if you are on again later the very best of luck for tomorrow, I hope all goes well and you are home with your gorgeous girly as quickly as possible.
Welcome newbies and congrats fluff on Freddie. Um, now forgotten everything else.
Went to cambridge today on the train and ended up trecking round for 4 hours, back is killing me now, don't think I'll be attempting that again! Bought an Elle Macpherson nursing bra today for £10...in a sixe 32f!!! I thought I handed expanded at all, was a 34c, need to take my other bras back now to change them as they are really tight across the boobage.
Avoided next yesterday but did the matalan sale and got a couple of neutral bits, tonnes of boys and girls stuff, but thats no good as we don't know what we are having yet, although did get DD some stuff for the summer/ next year/ holiday (really want to go to Tenerife Feb/March before I go back to work). Also went to a Jaeger sample sale as they have a factory where I live, got some dresses, tops and trousers for £5 each and 3 ties and some cufflinks for £2 each, better yet one of the dresses is a wrap dress and fits so will use it as a nursing dress when bubba is here.
No rain here today, was lovely!
For the in-laws gifts thing, my MIL has given us £150 towards a new fridge freezer (ours is tiny and won't fit in normal food and purees/bottles if I need to use them), mum and dad have got a few bits of clothes, but everyone is holding off until baby arrives as we need clothes but have everything else left from DD. Apargt from a cot mobile as hers broke, they just seem so expensive now.

I doubt we'll get much help this time round from anyone. Looking back, my in laws were so excited when I had my daughter as there hadn't been a girl in the family for years. MIL bought loads of outfits, and extra bits as well as cot and pushchair. We don't speak anymore and haven't seen them in 4 years, so there won't be help coming from them this time. My parents are a great practical help and will babysit and give their time which is more important than money. I'm sure they'll buy outfits and small bits too, but as this is their 7th grandchild they can't really afford to make any grand gestures.Cross Stitch Cafe member no.800
