I mentioned I went to Morley yesterday to buy a bundle of baby clothes (£10) from a facebook group, well when I got them home only half of it is usable as even though I'd seen pictures a lot of the stuff was a lot more faded than described. I'd already agreed to buy a second bundle off someone else today for £10, she didn't have any pictures though and I was a bit worried but OH said to go for it and he's cycled the 20 minutes to pick it up. I was expecting may 10-15 things in it. I've just gone through it all and there's 50 odd items in it all in immaculate condition in sizes from 0-3m up to 6-9m and it's all labels like Debenhams, Zara, Adidas, Nike, Next etc. Stuff we wouldn't have been able to afford brand new. I can't believe she's sold me it for £10. Theres some really lovely stuff in it too. She'd have got loads more on ebay.

:( Just had a look at the list and typically my local mothercare aren't doing the event.

Congratulations Oog on the birth of your little one and thanks for the tips.

Just done the food shop with Moon and done a mealplan for the week. We're going to Gunwharf Quays on Friday evening to look at the Next outlet store, and I have a voucher for 50% off food at Fire & Stone, so we'll be having dinner whilst we're there. :) Looking forward to it as I've not been there for quite a while. Just hope the midwife doesn't say I'm diabetic when I see her in the morning for my 31 week checkup as want to be able to eat the dessert without worrying about it.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

hello ladies :D ive just found this thread, hope you dont mind me joining in, im normally on the grabbit boards. Im due my first baby girl on the 3rd october :) very excited but also quite nervous about it all! x

hi toni, welcome to the thread. There aren't many girls expected around October, so it's nice to have another on the pink team. I'm due 2 days after you and I have bought absolutely nothing. I'm not really one for panicking about not being ready!

Congratulations Oog, it's nice to hear your story.

    That's really cute LadyM.

That's great that you got such a bargain bundle ikkle . I'd have never thought to look on facebook.

I really wish I'd experience this reduced stomach capacity that everyone else seems to have. I ate 4 plates of main course, 3 dishes of dessert, and then went back for an extra plate of chips and pizza just before we left. I could have eaten more, but I stopped as I felt like such a pig :o I am always hungry no matter how much I eat!

Ikkle I just sold a ton of my daughters stuff on a local Facebook and I know I could have got more on eBay but people are so fussy. You can't just say a bundle ad put a picture eac item has to edesvribed individually and it takes HOURS! So better to accept less money for less effort lol!
love you lots like jelly tots :o

I've bought maternity bits from eBay and for the most part they were not in as good a condition as I hoped. I am going to buy a few baby bits but I have been given loads of stuff so don't really need to get too much, just some nice outfits really. I 'won' a snow suit auction yesterday, hopefully it will be in good condition otherwise it can go back! I got lots of baby gros and vests from my local freecycle group - I offer quite a bit of other stuff on it though. I have seen some Next sale items listed already, the bidding on a pack of baby gros I really like seems higher than the sale price with still five days to go!

    Great pose Rebekah!
I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off :o

Happy New Thread everyone and huge congrats fluff! Freddie is gorgeous - and please do come and join us over on the Newborn thread :)Rebekah, hope to see you there too. Lots of luck and big hugs for tomorrow!

Changing table - we decided to not buy one before baby was born and wait and see if we needed one. Two months later - we don't! We change her on the bed - it feels safe when she wriggles and is easy when changing her clothes (e.g. after a bath or when there's been an 'accident') as there's lots of space to put everything out. In the first few weeks we kept a second changing mat on the dining room table downstairs to save us from having to run upstairs every five minutes. I know some people swear by changing tables, but you don't necessarily need one.

Playgym - we have this one and LO loves it (esp. the star with music and flashing lights). Lots of bits that can be detached and also used with car seats and buggies: www.mothercare.com/Baby-Einstein-Caterpillar-and-Friends-Playgym/399467,default,pd.html

Nappy bin - we bought a cheap £2 bin with lid from Ikea, use the cheap nappy bags and empty the bin every couple of days. Works well and no smells. But whatever you use, having a bin of some description wherever you change nappies is a must - you really won't want to run outside every time you have a dirty nappy, esp not at night!

I don't really sell on ebay anymore, but I know what you mean about it taking a lot of effort, I'm just in shock about how much the two bundles despite being the same price differed. The lady today even washed and ironed them for me lol.
