Hi all!
Hope everyone has had a good day. Did get into town and popped to Next. They did have a lot of summery baby stuff which I did want to get for next year but I resisted. However I got a lovely picture for my dining roomand picked up my changing bag but haven't had a chance to play with it yet. Also got a new cushion for my wheelchair lol, life is exciting here!!!
Emsbet the nursery looks fab
Rebekah maybe some teething gel. I've got a couple of tubes that are suitable from birth, can't remember the name though. Gripe water is good for wind, but not sure if from birth or a few months.
Lady M as others have said you can go to the GP. Our GPs also do some of the antenatal appointments. My midwife is at the surgery so either she or the GP see me every four weeks or so, soon to be two weekly
Have a birthday celebration in Surrey tomorrow. Have to be at FIL's at 10:30, haven't been getting up until 11:30 ish most mornings! Better get to bed.
Sending hugs to those that need them and labour vibes to the boldies. Hope everyone has a good nights sleep xxx:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j

have you got one of those mucus remover things ? like this
We used ours when baby caught a cold at a few weeks old, if you have to have a c-section you might find they are a bit mucus -ey to start with ??0 -
its a bogey sucker
you basically squeezy the yuk out of their nose - gross and quite satisfying all at once
I think its good for c-section babies as they dont have the waters squeezed out of their lungs in the same way, you see them doing it on OBEM sometimes when they are first brought out of the belly.Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0 -
u stick it up their nose squeze and it sucks the snot out lollove you lots like jelly tots0

Urgh yuck! Do core muscle exercises. It won't cure it per say but it will help to reduce it. The hip pain at night I never got rid of and still have now. But if I missed out a day or 2 then I did notice the pain got worse. Took a week or 2 for it begin to help.
* lie on left side with knees bent- lift right leg up so legs are parted (high doesnt matter) hold for 5 seconds - lower slowley to bring legs back together - rest for 5 seconds - repeat x 5 (feel free to increase to 10 or more when u feel like it)
* repeat above for the other side
* lie on back! (I know know they tell u not to but these were physio's instructions!) Lie with knees bent and tilt pelvis up to your chest as it were so that back flattens on the bed - hold for 5 - release - rest for 5 seconds - repeat x 5 - again up to 10 or more later if u want
* still on back ... with legs bent arms by side - lift bottom off the bed up in the air - hold for 5 - slowly lower again - rest for 5 - same as others - repeated x 5 blah blah. (Just before you lift bum pull in pelvic floor muscles - then pull in stomach musles - then lift)
* lastly ... sit on edge of bed/on chair ... place ball between legs - squeeze so you feel outer thighs working - hold for 5 - slowley release - rest for 5 - again all x 5+.
Hope some of that makes some sense ... i'm use less at explaining!!!
I shall try that, but I already have pre-existing medical conditions that make things like that hard but I shall try anyway.little_miss_moneysaver wrote: »Hi all!

Oh Fluff your little man is absolutely gorgeous!!!! It still doesnt feel real that my bump will turn into 2 real life babies in a few months!
Emsbet - your nursery looks lovely. Ive been looking at stickers online. Love the tree thats on a tv advert at the min in a nursery (cant remember which one - b&q maybe)
Bought the paint for our nursery the other day. Cant wait to get started. Decided on Buttermilk on 3 walls and a pale Raspberry on 1 wall. Hoping to get a new carpet sorted as well as the one in there is v. v. old.
Bought a couple of cot bumpers on ebay and also got 2 changing tables. One was £20 and is v solid. Got the other today for £1.24! Bargain. Need them really as Ive got dodgy hips and knees so cant get down on the floor
Cant remember who was talking about heart conditions, I have been under a specialist for the last few years (I have a dodgy valve) and I mentioned this to the consultant last wk. He's arranging for an appointment to be sent out for me asap just to check all is well, which Im so glad about. Good to have 1 less worry:j:T Gorgeous twin girls born 1st Nov 2012 :T:j0 -

I told her at my last appointment and she said that it's all my muscles moving but the pain is excruciating in my hips, back of hips and I have shooting pains down my legs but I don't feel like she'd listen to me if I told her anyway.
Last time I was practically bed bound and was told constantly that it is just normal pregnancy problems etc.
This time I mentioned it the moment it started to come on, it never really stopped anyway, so my midwife sent me to a physio to make sure it was nothing serious (non pregnancy related) and to help me. I have exercises and crutches etc. I am not bed bound yet but getting harder to move every day.

It's my Kiddicare shopping day!!! Can you tell I'm excited?!
List is l-o-n-g, hope we can get everything otherwise ordering online will be the way to go. But I want it in my grubby mitts NOW!!
Rebekah - lots and lots of luck for you tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you! xx0 -
My midwife is completely useless regarding my back and hip pain too LadyM. When I first told her, I think it was at 16 weeks, she said that's SPD but the physios won't do anything until 28 weeks anyway, so just get on with it until then. When I mentioned all the problems again at my 27 week appointment with her she said it was too late to refer to physio now!? I was just resigned to living with the pain, but now I've seen all the advice you've got I'll try my GP.
Rebekah good luck for tomorrow, you must be getting very excited and nervous now.
Chrissy - enjoy your trip to Kiddicare, it is great in there. I'm looking forward to going in and getting my bits at the end of September.
I actually managed 10 hours sleep last night which was a shock to the system. I can't even remember the last time I slept that well! I'm off out for a meal at a big buffet restaurant at lunchtime, chinese, indian, thai, mexican and british food. YumLuckily I still have no problem eating massive meals, as I like to get my money's worth out of buffets.
