Dizsie My last day at work is next Friday when I'll be 36+4, and I'm reaaalllyyy struggling now, but the end is in sight! It's only 6 working days! I just figured the longer I leave it, the longer I'll have with baby (and some money!).
Jenjen I was desperate to buy the flower thermometer but it's showing out of stock now
Ikkle what a horrendous experience, I dread every time they go to hear the heart that they aren't going to be able to find it, so with all those professionals trying I can't imagine what it must have been like. What a little monkey baby is.
Kitten My thoughts are with you and your family. Fingers crossed the tests are all reassuring.
rjh Labour vibes, I cant wait for you to go quiet on here now so we'll know things are happening!
LMM I honestly have nothing to add to everyones comments except good luck xxx
AFM I just wanted to ask about iron tablets, are they for my benefit or babys? I am very naughty and was given them two weeks ago and haven't started taking them yet, and I'm very concious that midwife on Friday will tell me off.
Re boobs- I have implants already and they've grown a lot, my nipples are massive and REALLY sensitive but I haven't had any leakage yet- I really want to breastfeed but I'm worried I might not be able to.Happiness can be found in even the darkest of places, if one only remembers to turn on the light - Albus Dumbledore

littlemoog re your work saying you would lose annual leave due to holiday cut off - please be aware this only relates to any annual leave above the government statutory minimum. So currently full time is 28 days. If your contract was 32 days but you had taken 21 days, your employer must roll over the 7 days to take you up to the statutory minimum, regardless of their policy.
However, again regardless of policy, I think an employer would be on very shaky ground by denying a woman on maternity leave the opportunity to roll over or be paid in lieu for any outstanding contractual holiday entitlement. Remember that by law they may not treeat anyone any "less favourably" due to pregnancy or maternity, its a protected characteristic under discrimination law. If it were not for the maternity, the woman would have been able to take the holiday, therefore you could argue they are entering in to possible discrimination territory.0 -
Congrats to LMM!
And our aqua babies is £48 for 11 sessions - I only know the exact figure cos we've just had to pay it! We've got a long waiting list for sessions though - we got on the list when she was 2 months old and will only be starting when she's 5 months.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -

Ok, so we've been away for a few days, have tried to keep up on facebook but HOW did I end up being like number 23?!?!
It's my birthday tomorrow (yipee!) and yesterday was 1 month until we are due. Started NCT classes last night and all was good. OH very quiet afterwards but have no idea why that was!!!
I can't remember who was asking about how late people were working... I'm intending on working until I am 39+6 (the last possible date I would be allowed to by law). Because I'm a teacher I'm currently 3/4 of the way through the summer holidays and am getting v tired, but I am hoping that that is because I don't actually have to do anything and that being back at work will spur me on. :rotfl:
Labour vibes to all who need them (but mostly RJH!!!)

If I was returning to work before March next year I could roll over 5 days, but our annual leave policy is that anything rolled over has to be used by then, and we can't have it paid out in lieu. It's clearly stated in our maternity leave policy that this will be applied, and that we should work out how to use all our leave before we go on ML - that's why I've only kept 1 week for the start of my ML, and am spacing the other days out before I leave, just in case. tbh the rest of our maternity policy is so generous that I wouldn't complain if I lost out on a few days AL.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -

You are wrong here... mine have the same rule as it is in a new holiday year.... I have spoke to HMRC, DWP and CAB and they all say sorry but you lose it!!!
They said it depends on your employers terms:jBaby Boy born December 20120
