 been off this thread for a few days and all hell has broken loose.

Hope everything is okay LMM. At least you are getting the help you need, even if it isn't going the way you expected it.

Sorry to hear of your trauma Ikkle. Very scary few hours for you.

Kitten sorry you are so worried, it is understandable under the circumstances, and it is good that you have somewhere to vent. Sometimes I think crying helps, doesn't change anything, but maybe helps to relieve a bit of tension and frustration temporarily.

I was a bit confuzzled over the c-section rules as well, I was under the impression that you could ask for one if you wanted it. I have been offered one because DS was one, I wouldn't recommend it though tbh. Not that I can compare it to a vaginal birth, but it's a pretty unpleasant experience overall and not the pain free get out clause it is sometimes presented as (too posh to push and all that).

Do any of you have support pillows? I need something to support me in bed at night and was wondering if anyone could recommend one. I can't put a pillow between my legs, opening my knees sets my SPD off. I saw those huge ones but DH is a light sleeper, I can't imagine he would be best pleased if I dragged one of those into bed with me :rotfl:

I've got a wedge shaped cushion from mothercare - cost about £10. I stick it under my bump and it stops me from waking up with a sore stomach and bump. It's very small and easy to turn from one side to the other, would probably work ok between knees as well.

Just back from my GTT test, was pretty unpleasant. My mum used to give me lucozade when I'd had a stomach upset, so drinking it instantly makes me feel sick! I was hoping it wouldn't be real lucozade, but it was :o Plus it sent Beanie mad and my tummy muscles are really sore from all the kicking now!

Had some breakfast now but feeling very tired and sick still so going to head back to bed for a few hours and then see if I feel up to working this afternoon. Luckily I don't have anything crucial to do so won't matter too much if I'm wiped out for the day.

Do you know how long the offer is on for JenJen as it's saying on their website that the product isn't available and to remove it from the basket?
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

  • Positive thoughts, hugs and vibes Kitten xxx You know it can’t be the same as with the boys at least so try not to think along those lines if possible. Hopefully you will get some reassurance from your results shortly.

Lady M, be careful what you wish for…I now have huge nipples and they scare me a bit!

Oh Ikkle I am so sorry to hear you have been having a rough time … it sounds really scary so I’m not surprised by your breakdown. I make you 34 weeks today (my friend due the day before you) so being told you might have to have an emergency c-section is scary enough. Good luck with the consultant today.

OK RJH, I now give you permission to moan as you are now actually overdue…by a week!!! I know I will be moaning on my due date if my little boy goes over, all the family are convinced he will be here on 12th November (5 days early) so after 12th I think I will start to moan J My friend has been 2 weeks over with both of hers and she was getting really angry towards the end.

I just use a normal pillow TaaDaa… I wedge it down the side of me and it stops me from rolling onto my front (and from OH burying his knees into me which he used to always do! I also use another pillow in between my legs too. In this weather the duvet has been adding to my pillow barricade too!

As for me … back in the office today after 2 days off with the pelvic pain L I know I shouldn’t really be in because it is hurting so much (and I need to pee every 5 mins so not helping with the sitting still) but I need to leave early on Friday which I won’t be able to do if I am behind on work!

How late is everybody planning on working??? I will be 36+6 on my last day at work so basically working up to 37 weeks … everyone is acting like I’m mad but like MMM says I think for me it will be best to keep busy and hope baby doesn’t come too early!!!

Is anybody else considering swim classes with baby? I mean before they are even 6 months old??? I have been looking into them but they seem to work out to about £14 a session which is so expensive I think…

I am dizsie. I'm looking at waterbabies. All my friends that have done that with their kids have really confident in the pool children. The ones that didn't have found getting them used to water seemingly much harder work.

To my mind (I couldn't swim until I was 11), it's a life skill so worth every penny. They aren't going to learn to swim, but just be comfortable in water, and for me to be comfortable with how to be with them in water. I'm terrified of taking him without knowing how to deal with him. Ha ha.

Sounds so traumatic Ikkle! I hope you are taking it easy to recover. I hope the last few weeks are stress free for you.

Kitten I was Googling your worries and quite a lot of people are saying that babies bodies don't always grow at the same rate and the tummy/organs can have a growth spurt and then the rest of the body catches up and that it may be nothing to worry about. Fingers crossed.

Labour vibes for RJH and all the boldies.

LMM hope you are safely holding your baby soon!

Dizsie with my last pregnancy I was convinced from the start that I would go overdue, so when I told work I was pregnant, I also told them I would be working until 39 weeks, because I wanted as much time off with the baby as possible. they laughed at me and said I would never do it (It's over an hours commute a day and 8.5 hr working day). I finshed work the Friday when I was 39 weeks. I then went 11 days over and had no BH or twinges, so wished I'd worked another week, but my boss was getting stressed that I'd go into labour at work, so he might have banned me from coming in.

I had a section last time and have been offered one this time, so I'm planning on working until the Friday before my section is booked hopefully. That should be about 38.5 weeks.

I'm working up until 36+3 Dizsie, I figured for first baby and with no major mobility issues so far I didn't need to stop any sooner. I have a short commute though, and work are very flexible about me working at home as required etc.

I am dropping down to 4 days a week from 32 weeks though, using my annual leave, then I have a weeks leave after I finish before ml starts officially at 38 weeks. I didn't want to use all my leave in a block in case of an early arrival (DH was 4 weeks early) as I'd lose the leave due to our holiday year cutoff. I may also WAH one day a week for the last 6 weeks or so, depending how I feel and how much labwork I have left (obv can't do that at home!)

How much is it going to be? Its about £120 for 9 sessions round here… I could take him to the pool myself for £4 a session (I am a very strong a confident swimmer) so not sure what to do! We will def start going within the first 6 months though because it is so important to me because some of my family are strong swimmers and some are pants at swimming and I want my child to be a strong swimmer like me, not scaredy like his daddy!!!

There is no way I will be allowed to work that late!!! HR is making my ML start at 38.5 weeks and before that I will be on annual leave for 1.5 weeks.

We are the same as you for A/L so it is a gamble… I am allowed to carry over 6 days though which I am doing…I am thinking about taking off the Friday for 2/3 weeks before but I will just be lonely and bored at home!!
