I still haven't got an e-mail cancelling my changing bag, but it is showing as not yet despatched? Has anyone managed to get one?

My DD is moving out of the nursery into her own bedroom before the baby arrives and DH keeps saying he wants her room to be really nice so she doesn't feel like she's being pushed out by the new baby, so I've gone a little mad buying stuff. I got new curtains, duvet set, bedspread, rug, light fitting, a set of pictures and a bookcase. I'm broke now until payday, but looking forward to getting started painting and getting it together after our American visitors leave at the end of the month. We did up the nursery for DD and it doesn't need much done, except maybe a lick of paint, so thought we'd make an effort for DD's new room instead.

I wonder how Ferrety is getting on?

My BF has a scan on Wed as she had reduced amniotic fluid at her last scan (she's 38 weeks) and if it's gone down any more, she'll be induced. She's hoping she gets induced as she's fed up in this heat. I can't believe she could have her baby by the weekend!

Had my latest lot of monitoring today and ended up in there for 5 hours as they couldn't get the readings they wanted again. They are concerned she doesn't move enough so I now have to keep a kick movement chart. I just wish Thursday would hurry up as the next scan will give me a better idea what is happening.

Have they said how many movements you need to feel each day? How does your kick chart work I don't feel kicks that much other than the twangs in my fandango.

I've decided to gut my living room today, OH was supposed to help but has sloped off somewhere else. I'm not getting very far with it because I either bend over and then feel like I'm about to either wee myself or something or I get tummy ache and have to stay still for a minute. It was lovely and cool and raining earlier and now I'm roasting and it's sunny.

I have to mark on the chart which hour of the day it is by the time I have felt 10 separate movements. If I haven't felt many by midday ring them and if I haven't had the full ten by 7pm I'll have to go in. If I get enough movements they will have a look at it next time to see if a pattern is noticeable. On the info bit at the back it says rolling movements count as well as kicks. I don't get that many kicks either, so I was relieved it isn't just kicks that count.

Katy, do they say what a 'seperate movement' is? I get my movements probably only about twice a day, but when they arrive they arrive by the dozen! Except the other day when I had very few but felt 'full' almost all morning, reckon baby must have been rotating or something and squishing my back rather than my front as normal.

They didn't specify this time. But my MW has said in the past that it's a case of 6 kicks in a row are only one movement if they are literally one after the other, but if there was to be a minute or so gap between them they would count as separate movements. I find it really hard to judge as like you I tend to get movements in a couple of batches and then nothing for hours. I'll be on the phone to them if I'm not sure though!

    Hey everyone.

Saw the midwife today, but not my usual midwife as she got called to a lady in labour in the night so was sleeping in this morning. :)

BP is still low. Baby is head down apparently but still all over the place as I'm 24 weeks.lol. Heartbeat is very clear and strong. :D

I have the consultant at 28 weeks and because of this the midwife said that my next midwife appointment would be at 32 weeks. I assume this is right? When I saw the consultant before, I still saw the midwife at the same time I would have seen her if I hadn't seen the consultant. :o

Ideally I'd like a female consultant.:o I know that sounds really sexist but I just get on with women better and I didn't get on with the consultant that well last time, but apparently that means being re-referred and I don't think I can handle the stress of it all!

One thing I picked up about movements is its important you dont count hiccups as one of the movements as it needs to be voluntary.

Kitten-pie hope baby gets all clear at next appointment, did they discuss what happens next - will they induce early ?

reading your results made me wonder and I've just done a stupid thing and looked through my notes again - baby measured on the 79th centile at 28 weeks and 18th at 34 weeks  that seems a hell of a drop to me, I tried to measure my fundal height but that clearly was never going to be accurate :rotfl:

Going to spend my evening doing a rain dance I think, its just too bloomin hot !

I was thinking about this yesterday, if you have a really full bladder surely this would bump up the measurement? And if baby is lying transverse breech surely it would shrink it??
