BP is still low. Baby is head down apparently but still all over the place as I'm 24 weeks.lol. Heartbeat is very clear and strong. :D
I was going to ask you about the blood pressure as mine has been higher than 'normal' for me (not that any of the midwives seem concerned!). It was 105 / ?? at my 25 week last Weds, but two of the previous have been 90 / ?? and under 90 / ?? (you can tell I don't have my notes with me today!). Has yours gone up at all or is it still the same low as before?

I was thinking about this yesterday, if you have a really full bladder surely this would bump up the measurement? And if baby is lying transverse breech surely it would shrink it??

The centile results come purely from baby, at the scan they take various measurements such as femur length, stomach size etc then input them into the poota which spits out a gestimate size. Its not 100% accurate and can be over or under due to human error by a small margin but its nothing that can be effected by mum.

My BP seems to be a tiny bit sporadic but still low, if that makes sense? I have my notes right next to me so I'll copy my readings for you. :D

    9+6 - 88/60
    16+3 - 100/50
    19 - 98/60
    22 - 80/50
    24 - 90/50

So, it goes up and down ever so slightly!

Only if going via fundal height, that also can be affected by how baby is laid and who is measuring you.

Mishka is going via a growth scan where you get given exact measurements as to how big the abdomen, skull, femur etc is and can work out the centile from that.

I'm interested by what my results will be from my scan Wednesday as other than feeling like something is about to drop out of my lady bits and it hurting he doesn't feel any bigger.

Its the bottom number they pay most attention to hun. The ideal range for your systolic number which is the top number, so what you have posted is 90-120 so you are well within normal, the bottom number - the dystolic is what they tend to pay more attention to.

    Hey everyone.

Saw the midwife today, but not my usual midwife as she got called to a lady in labour in the night so was sleeping in this morning. :)

BP is still low. Baby is head down apparently but still all over the place as I'm 24 weeks.lol. Heartbeat is very clear and strong. :D

I have the consultant at 28 weeks and because of this the midwife said that my next midwife appointment would be at 32 weeks. I assume this is right? When I saw the consultant before, I still saw the midwife at the same time I would have seen her if I hadn't seen the consultant. :o

Ideally I'd like a female consultant.:o I know that sounds really sexist but I just get on with women better and I didn't get on with the consultant that well last time, but apparently that means being re-referred and I don't think I can handle the stress of it all!

I was consultant led last time (assume I will be more so this time with the previous prematurity thing) and my consultant appointments ran, like you assumed, in parallel to and not instead of my midwife ones. Meant there were weeks I felt like pitching tents in hospital and doctors' waiting rooms!

Ah, to both Mishka and Ikkle! That makes sense now - I was thinking of the fundal height :) As for the blood pressure I'll have to dig my notes out again, but I have been low on both of them before (under 90 and under 60) but can't remember what it was last week.

See, that's what I thought so now I'm confused!

Will try and get in touch with my midwife just to clarify things.:o

LadyM, at the next midwife appointment I think you're also due to have blood taken, not sure the consultant would do that?

in my area if you due to see consultant you dont see midwife that week and just have the next scheduled appt

also a bit of advice girls - i have been watching my weight this week as i heard you are meant to lose a bit before you go into labour (probably an urban myth but anyway) after putting on about 1kg a week i nthe alst trimeseter i lost 1kg and it was steady all week - now in the past three days i have put on 3kg and my ankles and hands have swollen a lot more - also notice if i cross my ankles it leaves a big dent in once which doesnt go away - i have a consultant appt on wednesday but wondering if i should call anyone to check if this is normal or not ???
love you lots like jelly tots :o
