LadyM, at the next midwife appointment I think you're also due to have blood taken, not sure the consultant would do that?
I'm not sure either.:o The midwife I saw today said that I'll have my iron levels checked at the consultant appointment but nothing was mentioned to me about that at my last appointment with my consultant. He just said that I'll be having a growth scan and a chat to him about how things are going.
Plus, there's only one person who can get blood out of my tiny veins properly and that's the Phlebotomist at the surgery (hence why for my first pregnancy bloods, the midwife let her do them instead of the midwife trying as I hate needles at the best of times, let alone when they have to try in so many different places!).
It's all a bit confusing. I think I'll try and get in touch with my midwife to ask her directly.:o2019 Wins

in my area if you due to see consultant you dont see midwife that week and just have the next scheduled appt
also a bit of advice girls - i have been watching my weight this week as i heard you are meant to lose a bit before you go into labour (probably an urban myth but anyway) after putting on about 1kg a week i nthe alst trimeseter i lost 1kg and it was steady all week - now in the past three days i have put on 3kg and my ankles and hands have swollen a lot more - also notice if i cross my ankles it leaves a big dent in once which doesnt go away - i have a consultant appt on wednesday but wondering if i should call anyone to check if this is normal or not ???
If I don't see my midwife at 28 weeks and instead see her at 32 weeks, do you think it'd be possible to call in at 29 weeks to get her to sign my Sure Start Maternity Grant form?I don't really want to leave it until 32 weeks as I know how long these things can take to process.:o

rj have you been having any other symptoms such as headaches etc that could indicate high blood pressure? After taking my blood pressure my midwife seemed very unbothered by my swollen legs and ankles and just said it's all par for the course in late pregnancy, particularly as we've had hot weather. Do they go down at all if you elevate them? You also need to make sure that you're drinking lots of water, as ironically this stops the swelling. My midwife advised lying on my left side with my feet elevated on pillows (it's not very easy to do though or that comfortable).
ETA these are the symptoms of preeclampsia taken from the NHS website - the part that has worried me is the bit where you mentioned weight gain - it may be worth calling NHS direct in case.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
Thanks for the well wishes. Have been snuggling with OH this afternoon trying not to think the worse.
Our consultant hasn't gone into much detail with regards to what the possibilities are. He wants to wait for the test results rather than bombard us with scare stories that probably won't be true. There is always the chance that she is just going to be a big baby and that is healthy but I don't get that impression from his face and the way he was talking.
We will hopefully have more details next week and know what we are facing if anything.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500

I don't think it can do any harm to see if you can see the GP or nurse etc tomorrow to get your BP and urine checked then if you're able to rj - at least it'll put your mind at rest so your BP doesn't go up through worrying.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

Just dug out my blood pressure readings, the bottom one is still spot on the border between low and normal!

I keep getting sent to the hospital as my BP is fighting with the BP meds I'm on - today at my 36wk midwife appt it was 148/94, my record this pregnancy was 169/106 but that was before the medication, which generally keeps it under much better control. Was sent back in for monitoring again today as also had +++ protein in my wee but they've let me home again. My fundal height was 35cms at just under 35wks, now it's measuring barely 34cms
Next stop growth scan/fluid measurements/placental doppler on Wednesday - think there's a few with scans on Weds/Thurs this week?0 -
That doesn't sound like fun nbirdy. Good luck for your scan Wednesday. I have my 41 week consultant appt Wednesday. Probably for a sweep and to discuss induction date. Feeling a bit pooh tonight. Strong Braxton hicks and some back cramps.
Kitten baby brain can't remember if I replied earlier and too much effort to look back on phone but try my to worry. I know it's easier said than done but I'm sure your little girl is fine. Good lck with your tests.
Everyone very quiet tonight. Sleep well everyonelove you lots like jelly tots0
