  • Hi all
Just checking in and catching up.
Emsbet - happy 37 weeks! :j I know you won't relax until you've got baby safely in your arms
Like Others have said you've a great support to so many of us on here. I understand though what you mean about getting stressed etc, but we're here if you want to offload yep any worries etc
Kitten huge hugs, you must be terrified. Good your dr didn't go into any possibilities and get you more worried. Hope you've managed to resist the charms of dr google too. What kinda tests are they doing today? My LO has had a large belly for a while, not looked up these centile things though. I just thought he was pudgy like his dad.
RJH you sounds very uncomfortable. Like Sam said a chat with your midwife would do no harm and maybe get checked out. She might feel sorry for you and do a sweep whilst you're there;)
MMM hugs for your horrible day yday. Hopefully today is better :) at least it's your last week now :)
Nbirdy sounds like you're having a rough time with your BP. Hope the monitoring is going ok
LadyM glad you're getting on ok despite the low BP. I see my midwife at my GP surgery. My consultant I see at my hospitals antenatal clinic where there is a midwife too. Obviously at the hospital they check my wee, BP and listen to baby etc so my midwife said unless I specifically want to see her at the surgery to not make appointments on the weeks I'm at the hospital. As really that's all she's doing too. If there was anything the consultant wanted doing midwife wise urgently there is one there.
I would make an appointment for your form though definitely like you said they're not quick to process such things.
Do hope Ferrety is getting on ok
Vic_rich they've been transferred to another local hospital. Not sure if it's because the facilities for little Jack are better there. She's put a couple of photos up on her Facebook page and he's one gorgeous looking boy. He's stable though at the moment :)

TMI alert - I woke up now and it's hot and I felt all damp. I did think omg have some of my waters broken? but no I think it is just sweat. I did think RJH you might hunt me down if I started queue jumping ;)

I have my 36 week growth scan today followed by consultant appointment. I've never felt nervous before these appointments before, but I'm very worried about today and I don't know why. You know when you just have a bad feeling? Bubba is moving loads, he's currently doing his early morning yoga/Mexican wave dance. I guess it's getting near crunch time and it's all nerves. I think today we'll start talking practicalities of the birth too so OH has got the time off to come. He works 2 mins walk from the hospital anyway.
I think after my weeks of nagging him to finish the ruddy nursery so I could nest etc the penny has dropped! It could have been my hysterical outburst on Sunday that I'm full term this week and bubba has nothing to wear as I haven't washed it as I've nowhere to put it away all nice and even the bedding hasn't been washed. So if baby comes now he'll have nothing to wear and nowhere to sleep etc in my high pitched hyperventilated voice with tears galore. Also I've been having these random, short lower back pains, only once or twice where my tummy seems to go tight but it's the back that's painful. OH is now convinced they're these hicky things and that we should prepare ourselves. So tonight he asked my to start washing baby clothes and to pack a bag for hospital. I washed my hold all for hospital it was looking a bit grubby so I will start putting things in it.

Well enough rambling on from me. Hope everyone is getting some sleep. I'll try and doze for a bit. Hospital scan isn't until 3 so I've time to rest a bit in the morning. Xx

    Welcome!!

Is anyone got to the point where thier 38 weeks, everything just slows down and your just hoping that EVERYTHING is labour? lol

Woke up this morning (10min ago I guess) with lower back pain and constant period cramps...still hoping but when I googled it loads preggie people have had it on/off and doesn't sound like a sign of labour....also had on/off pains last night but they were 'in tune' with baby moving so I think he was just streching ALOT as they wasnt freq or anything.

Still hoping I guess.... 39+4 days now.. last 5-6 days must been slowest of my life....I really hope yours comes soon for you rjh!

Has anyone else packed energy drinks? My mum recommed them and I also LOVE them. Have not had any since I got pregnat and sooo looking forward to them when I go into labour. Its the little things. :rotfl:
People don't know what they want until you show them.
  • Morning all! Was expecting to have to catch up on about five pages of info but only had one this morning - this thread has been quiet since I last logged on!

Kitten as others have said, I am sure everything is fine hun but it is understandable that you are worried. Sending you lots of hugs and hoping that you can relax and enjoy the final part of your pregnancy.

LMM hugs to you too, I know what you mean about the nesting instinct! Our nursery is in place, but haven't put bedding on cotbed yet (I need to wash that too!) and need to get crib up in our room so we still have some bits and pieces to sort out. Also need to put stickers up on nursery wall and get OH to stop hanging his suit on baby's wardrobe, lol!

I did manage to pack my hospital bag last night though, just need to add fan and nightdress to it and also things like Ipod (charging up an old one today) and maybe a few magazines or books. Found it hard to decide what to wear to come home in! That sounds silly but I am loving leggings at the mo cos they are so comfy but (and sorry for anyone horrified by this) I can't wear knickers with leggings - have never been able to so that rules them out after the birth as I will need to wear pants & maternity pads. Settled on some jogging bottoms in the end that I can still get into and some baggy tshirts. Have also packed snacks and several packets of thorntons chocolates (only £1 from Poundland!) to give as thank-yous to the midwives if they are exceptionally nice!:D Haven't packed any drinks as yet, may do that when labour starts.

Thinking of getting my hair cut at some point - have not had it done for five months and it looks a state! I was growing out my fringe anyway so have been mainly pushing it back off my face but I just can't stand it at the moment! I think it's because I don't feel like me anymore - I look in the mirror and there's not one thing that I really recognise! Not sure whether to get it cut now or wait for a month or two after baby is born and get it done then? I've got some hair dye so I could just colour it for now to give a bit of a diff look and save my pennies for later!

Who mentioned about having period type pains? I've been having them too - had them a few times over the last five days or so; hope this means everything is happening as it should be! Off for midwife appt today so will if LO is still head down!

    Hugs to all x

Morning all, another terrible night's sleep here. I think I might as well give up and just stay downstairs all night!

Kitten - That's good that they haven't scared you with any vague possibilities. Really hope it is just the case that she is a big baby.

NBirdy - good luck for Wednesday, hope they manage to get your BP back under control. Being thick here, but what is a placental doppler for? It's about the only check I haven't had lol, so no idea on that one!

LMM - are your growth scans for being big or small? Don't worry too much, as long as baby is moving well I'm sure it'll be fine. Good luck for it :)

Labour vibes for both rjh and Kayalana - you both sound so fed up. Last time round it was 39 weeks that I'd had enough and started going crazy, so I can sympathise with you both there.

    Welcome Canucksfan :)

I have absolutely nothing to do today, so hoping for a quiet day cross stitching. The kids have got their own mini kids kits so we can all sit together and have a stitch.

    Morning all!

Lovely to hear that baby Jack is doing well and the new hospital are looking after both him and Vic so well. Sending fattening-up vibes to baby Jack and feel better vibes to Vic.

Got a busy morning today - man coming to take photos of the water damage done by British Gas to our bedroom ceiling (they fiddled with something on the water tank in the loft when they came that they shouldn't even have been touching and caused a leak); have to pick up some raspberry leaf tea that a kind freecycler has offered me, and also have a delivery of cat food coming at some point today (still trying to track when - thought I'd try ordering online to see if it's easier for once Bean is here).

Welcome Canucksfan - Bean is an honorary Canuck as our Canadian friends who witnessed our wedding sent a really cute babygrow over for him that is red, had a picture of a deer with a maple leaf on his bottom, and 100% Canuck printed on the top. :)

Good luck to all having scans and tests at the moment.

Well I'd better go and get some breakfast as I don't want the surveyor to turn up in the middle of it all.

Hugs to those who want or need them, and labour vibes where appropriate.

    Morning all :)
working at home today, as woke up yesterday with a big knot in the muscle under my shoulder blade, and this morning it's spasmed and I can't turn to the right! Not safe to drive but can manage to sit with my laptop and do a bit of work. Hopefully it will relax during the day, if only we could use ibuprofen while pg! OW!

Good luck for everyone having growth scans this week, hope everything is well with your bubbas.

Labour vibes for the boldies, hope those pesky babies get a move on for you!

You make me sound so evil lol. I promise I will not hunt you down if u go into labour. Well unless hormonal rage takes over lol.

41 weeks tomorrow. Not made it out of bed yet. My lovely oh got up with my daughter this morning and has been entertaining et. Hea Gone to Work now tho So gotta attempt entertainment all say! Apparently I had another great night słeep. Maybe it's labour preparation.

Yes at this stage everything is a sign of labour from my mahoosove poo. Sorry tmi. Last night with my BH I was having lower back pain like cramps too and I was like oooo it might be time but as usual went away. Lol.

Got another pineapple to eat but will do it slowly this time as last time my tongue bled.

Have a good day everyone xxx
love you lots like jelly tots :o
  • Morning all!

I eventually got back to sleep around 6is as OH left for a early morning meeting. He just rang to say it had finished and he had a nice fry up and woke me up
Canucksfan congrats and welcome! If you tell me you EDD I'll add you to our list. Do you know the sex or you're keeping it a surprise? You sound very busy!
Kayalana I've got still lucozade. I think is was the midwife at antenatal class who said fizzy stuff isn't a great idea? But I've also got fizzy ones :) I'm not sure about caffiene ones in labour. I hear the last two weeks (apart from the first 12) drag the most!
MMM i got some nice loose fitting slouchy trousers from Primark. I'm normally a 14 but got these in an 18 and they fit me now so will fit after. They've got a tie cord so I can make them sit high up if needed. There were a fiver.also tesco value jogging bottoms were very similar, not the elastic aged leg bottomed ones kinda wide legged ones which have £5 on the label but went through at £4. Dead comfy, however now covered in paint :o again in sizes too big. I'm guessing there's not enough room/support in the leggings for a pad. I'm not I'd feel so secure either tbh.
I had my hair cut a couple of weeks ago, my friend and I worked out it was way over a year since I'd had it done! Treat yourself hun, next time I'll prob go her salon with screaming baby lol. Hope you have a better day.
Katyliz hugs for the rubbish nights sleep. I can sympathise. Slept between midnight and 2-2:30 then from about 6 to half hour ago. Hope you can grab some rest today sometime.
My growth scan was mentioned at 16 weeks with the consultant. I think because of my connective tissue disease they just want to sure he's growing ok. There's never been any concern. I understood it was more the placenta that might be an issue. Still I like seeing bubba :)
SM hope the surveyor is round soon and can sort out the mess etc.
Vic_rich I'll update the list with your little man. Can't believe how healthy he appears to be. And he looks so perfect. Glad you're feeling more comfortable with the care at the new hospital too :)
BHs hmm I'm still baffled about these. During my hours awake last night I though bubba was doing his normal dance routine. But I don't think he was. I didn't get the crappy back pain, but it was like everything going tight. Which is what I understand these to be like? Not at all painful though :) not telling OH cos he's beginning to realise we might have a baby soon ;)

Big labour vibes to those needing them, hugs to those needing them too xx

RJH you know I'm kidding ;)
