Oh lady m it's a pain when people dont understand. The amount of
    Times
I had to say well yes I am tired but it's not jut tired it's so physically exhausted that u cannot move, everything hurts and I feel constantly
Ill. I will never forget those three years of ME and it frustrates me when people
Criticise it as being tired. Wish they could just have spent one day in my shoes. Can imagine what it's like being pregers too hun x

Yes I had heard of it. My aunt had it. My uncle had to sleep across the bedroom door to make sure she didn't harm baby or escape. Se used to do anything to avoid being with baby.

savage a friend of mine had post natal psychosis a couple of years ago after the birth of her son. I'd never heard of it until then, and it was scary just to watch someone in that state. As bad as PND is, psychosis is a lot worse. My friend developed it after having ante natal depression, which is why I think it's so important to get support if you start to feel low during pregnancy.

LadyM that sounds like a good idea to take your MIL along.

Did anyone hear on Radio4 this morning about post natal psychosis?
Apparently 1 in 500 chance  (much higher if you already have bipolar disorder)

Hope it doesn't affect anyone here but I'd never heard of it and apparently it's "quite" common (as with all things this is relative, but still). If you start getting suicidal or homicial thoughts after birth please get help and warn your OH's to look out for strange behaviour too!!

My MIL is lovely. She asked if I'm sure I want her to come along because she'll speak her mind.:rotfl:

I've heard of it. There was a storyline in Waterloo Road about it and that's the first time I had come across it.
It sounds so horrible. :( I hope nobody here will suffer with it. :(

    It's a horrible illness. :(

Ideally, I'd like a C-Section because even though I know that it's a major abdominal operation, I know that the recovery period from that will be less than trying to give birth naturally and then having a major relapse (even though my M.E is severe as it is!). It's trying to weigh up the lesser of two evils in a way. :(

I would go with the c section lady m. What are the chances your body would cope with a reasonable length labour that won't end in a c section anyway. I know at my worst I couldn't even get out of bed to go to the toilet never mind push a baby out!

Exactly but my consultant is against the idea and I think that him not understanding M.E doesn't help! He even said that women don't need to push during labour!

I told my MIL that he said that and she was flabberghasted!

The day after having my dd every muscle
I my body ached. I felt like I had run a marathon. The happiness of Gavin baby counteracts this of course but there is no getting away from the fact that I was perfectly ft at this time.

Maybe Contact the cfs assciation and ask of they an point u In direction of any publishe studies of ME and natural vs c section so u can be armed with research for nex time u there

  • Hi Vic
How are you and Jack today? Hope you both make a good recovery x
Little Miss my EDD is 3 Jan, but all the others have been late and needed evicting! I had my 20 scan last week, but the policy here is for the scanner to write the gender in the report and send it to the Ob/Gyn-sigh. DH likes the 'surprise' of not knowing, but I have had enough surprises in this pregnancy-a recently diagnosed hypertrophic cardiomyopathy for me and an anterior placenta for bubba (unable to feel any kicks as the baby is lying against a big cushion of placenta)...so I would really like some good news at this stage.
LadyM I too am requesting a CS-all the rest of mine were vag deliveries, so the dr is arguing with me abt this...Wow, things move fast in this thread- last night I was No 80 in the Chart and today I am No 70!!!

can you take dulcoease during pregnancy? tmi alert! it hurts:o

I was in a lot of pain with this last night, in tears etc. I sent OH to the shop and he got me fybogel (I couldn't take this because it says not to use when on codeine and that is what is causing the problem) and Senokot which did the job although it took about 8 hours of pain.

OH said that Dulcoease said not to be used when pregnant. Not sure if this is a not been tested on pregnant women so don't want to suggest it or whether it could cause a problem. Could be worth ringing your MW up to check.

I did drink lots of prune juice and water to help ease things along. My sister who is a nurse also suggested warming the toilet seat as this can help or a hot water bottle on your lower back.

LadyM - I admit I know nothing much about MS, but I can't believe people feel they have the right to make such silly comments and assumptions! And your consultant sounds like he thinks he knows it all.

Another appointment letter through the post today, this time for anaesthetics clinic. I have no idea why I've got to see them, it's not something I've had a problem with in the past or anything the consultant has mentioned to me. I think they just like to bombard me with hospital sessions, I'm in there between 2-4 times every week!!

I finally got my BabiesRUs baby club vouchers through and I can't say I'm very impressed. Most of them are money off bikes, lego etc, which seems a bit ridiculous when signing up due to pregnancy. Even the £5 off toys voucher says 'excludes babiesrus'. I suppose I can use them to get xmas shopping early for the big kids, but that isn't exactly the first thing on my mind at the moment.

That sounds like a good idea. I'll get in touch with them soon.

Even my midwife mentioned about me deciding which option would be the best for me. My consultant is quite old school, I think, hence why I'm taking MIL with me as she'll tell it like it is. I'm shy and find it hard to have a "voice", I guess.

I think they don't like doing C-Sections unless necessary but of course, sometimes there can be a bit of a borderline.
