    Morning all,

Thought I'd post an update from me as I haven't posted anything for ages, although I have been reading along.

Congrats to the recent births and labour vibes going out to all the boldies - especially divorcingjack.

I have had my 36 week midwife appointment this morning. I am actually 36+5 so little man could put in an appearance any time after Saturday. Yikes! Apparently he is in the right position and his head is "well wedged" in my pelvis. Midwife doesn't think he will move down any more before I deliver. I have been having awful pelvic pain again for the last few days and understand why now. I am so excited to meet my baby but a little scared at the same time. I am really hoping that I can just get to September before going into labour as a) I would like him to be in the new school year and b) it's my brothers wedding on 30th August and I want to get that out of the way first! I suppose I don't have much control over it though and what will be, will be!

Jannine I passed on your message to Vic. She can't access here on her phone so copied it on Facebook. She really appreciates it and it's helped her a lot.

DJ good luck!! Cervical priming just sounds so un glamorous. Hope you get to meet lo soon :-)

Just at the hospital enjoying a cuppa and reading the newspaper havent seen one for months!

Thanks Hun, if Vic can't update on here and you have any more news can you post on here please? I do read every day, like to know how ladies are getting on and give any advice if I can.

Just been to Asda and when I went past the nappy isle I had another though that may be useful for Vic or anybody else with a very early baby. The Micro sized nappies were massive for Poppy, they literally came up to her armpits and a Nurse on the NICU told me if you contact Pampers direct they can send you nappies that are smaller than the Micro's, they don't sell them in the shop and they didn't charge me anything for them, they are ideal to use until baby gets to around 3lb then the micro's will be ok but will probably still need folding down.

If I think of more useful snippets I'll post.

    Hope all going ok Vic.

Crikey, we now have 6 boldies! Fingers crossed for some happy baby news soon.

Arrh! That is going to make me in the 20s really soon then, I'm not ready for that. Baby cannot come before 19th Sept, thats when the new bathroom will be finished, the whole thing is currently sitting in the baby's room along with a double bed and a massive pile of baby stuff with no floor space whatsoever.

Congratulations to all those who have had babies in the last few weeks. I have been reading but still at work so not much time to post. Now have today and tomorrow, then a week off then just 4 days left- can't wait. I feel fine but have been on a wind down for ages so I'm bored.

I have 34 week MW appointment today, need to sort out my notes beforehand, I put them in a ring binder and every time I go she just witters on about having a treasury tag to hold them together - seriously she never talks about anything else. I should also think of some questions, but never can, maybe the rasberry leaf tea as others are asking on here.

Vic - sorry to hear of your worries. I don't know anything about preemies but do know of 2 babies born at 31 weeks that have both been absolutely fine and discharged well before their actual due date. It is really amazing what they can do to help support them even though they are really tiny.

She's been admitted to a ward, had 2nd steroid jab and some monitoring. Heartbeat was a strong 140-150 but there was some irregularities during monitoring, she has another scan at 3pm. She has bloods taken to check her iron levels as the results have gotten lost. The doctor has been very honest and told her that unless something drastic shows up on the scan then she will be having a c-section tomorrow. x
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Little Moog you're so much more organised than me, our nursery is still a dumping ground for clothes and everything else that doesn't have a place. Also a mountain of baby stuff in the middle of the floor, and one of the walls is painted bright pink! I have a feeling we wont get our fingers out and get the room done until I'm practically in labour!

It was raining cats and dogs last night when I was walking home from work, and a wonderful kind lady pulled up and offered me a lift home. Such a lovely thing thing to do and I was truly touched and so grateful! Restores my faith in people.

That's what our nursery was like 2 weeks ago, it doesn't take long to sort once you get started :) The only problem now is that our other spare room is full of all the stuff we took out of the nursery, so until we get the furniture finished and can put the baby stuff away we can't get through the door!

Thanks for the update, will be thinking off her today and tomorrow. Please keep us updated and send her my best wishes. She is in the best place to be looked after and the Paediatric Consultants are fantastic, I could never thank Poppy's Doctor enough.

Thanks for that, but shoddy reporting from the Mail, that's clearly a US article as the shops quoted are US and so is the recall procedure!

Biggest snippet I can think of (Erin wasn't that preemie but we still had the NICU stay and time on the ward)... the charity Bliss... they've been brilliant with us - I ended up with quite severe PTSD after what we went through (granted I was in a pretty craptacularly setup hospital) and they've been really supportive, ended up putting me in touch with a counsellor to deal with it all when the dust had settled and I had time to dwell on it all (and it really started to hit home) and it's started to iron it all out in my mind.

Other thing I can think of is not to be a martyr - I felt utterly unable to leave the hospital when we were in there - and the toll that took on my mental health was massive. I'm planning for number 2 with one eye on the possibility I won't go to term again - and this time I'll take offers from grannies and daddy to sit in with her for a while so I can go out of the hospital and get some headspace from far, far earlier - the time I did so last time around, I did actually go back to the hospital feeling like a new woman. Felt as guilty as sin all the time I was away from her - but in hindsight - I needed that time desperately.

One of Erin's doctors looked like a young Richard Gere - not only was he the nice one who started to give us timeframes to consider going home so I loved him enough for that - by heck he was severely yummy!
