    Morning :)

Don't no whats 'not' up with me today or maybe cause my tablets kicked in over the whole UTI thing for who read that post y-day but I feel like cleaning the house from top to bottom right now (Thats not normal for me lol)

MMM - Sleeping is becoming annoying now!! I never had a problem with it but my LO becomes more active at night and I can sleep through that...but every twinge of pain as he is streching about 'down thier' and im worried this is it.. and I end up not being able to sleep wondering if this is it...and it just gets my mind going lol!

8 days left now :) Can't imgaine what it must feel like to go over due really hope it doesn't happen as I am on edge everyday as it is so I am feeling for you rjh even if it is only +1 today.

Can't get the user name of this page but sorry to the person I told to 'get it sorted' lol :-) Just was in so much discomfort I couldn't bare to wish it on anyone else but I have a feeling it was mainly to do with not just the UTI but the babys head putting pressure low down as standing up/walking was complete agony. (Its amazing what one day's worth pills does :| )

Can't wait to move over to the new born thread now (sorry guys :) ) Will make sure I upload a photo or two when he is here if thats possible...Got my camera all set up to go!!

...Ok I am off to do the pots its amazing how fast they piled up y-day with me off my feet :|

Well just back from my 28week growth scan & consultant apt
I'm devastated so upset & confused
Baby is growing 2 weeks behind & their seems to be issues with blood from the placenta I've had first course off steroids 2nd lot tomorrow morning, and have a scan tomorrow & consultant again, I've been told to expect baby to be deliverd early via c-section but will know more tomorrow

baby at worse could be deliverd as early as friday witch i will be 28w 5d

    Hi Hun,

I've come across from the Newborn thread, Gilly told me about your post.

I'm sorry you are going through this and hope I can help you with advice.

I had my Daughter last year at 27+5 so understand what you are going through. I was measuring 4 weeks behind and having weekly scans and doopler scans, I was suffering from intrauterine growth restriction and after one of my scans developed pre-eclampsia. I was taken straight to delivery suite and given a section.
Its good that they have started you on steroids, I was only given one shot just before baby was delivered so apparently it wasn't very affective. If you are having problems with your placenta it really is best that baby is delivered early and trust me when I say they work miracles on the NICU.

My Daughter was born on the 24th November 2011 (EDD was 11th February 2012) and she weighed 1lb 14oz at birth. I had a section and there was the Consultant and 2 NICU Nurses there. Poppy was born and taken straight off by the Doctor and helped to start breathing, she was then placed in a travelling incubator and taken straight to the NICU Intensive Care. A baby born at 28 weeks will most probability be ventilated (a machine that breathes for them). It is really scary and upsetting (I won't pretend that it isn't!) and I don't want to go into loads of details because it will only give you more reason to worry. But the Doctors and Nurse are fantastic and take such good care of these babies.

My Daughter spent 13 and a half weeks on the NICU and was finally discharged to home on the 19th February, she did come home on oxygen as her lungs were poor, but this isn't that common.

She has a few problems with her heart and her lungs, plus the fact that she is only 12lb 8oz and isn't even on the weight chart, but the Doctors are very happy with her progress and she is doing fantastic now. If you look through my posts on the Newborn thread you will see pictures of her and you can see for yourself how well she is doing.

Its a really hard journey with sleepless nights and so much worry, I wouldn't be doing you any favours to pretend otherwise, but babies born at this gestation do so well.

Sorry if that was a bit garbled, not normally up this early, but had to log on when I read your post.

PM or ask me any questions on here and I will help if I can.

    Take care.

  • Morning all!

Sorry I haven't posted or read for ages, I was a bit worried about moving so far up the list! As you'll see, I'm now number 1 (and prob have been for a while!!) - our monkey is faaaaaar too comfortable in there and is 2 weeks late today. Hardly any signs at all - only lost my plug and that's about it!!

I have had 2 sweeps and tried everything known to man to start naturally but to no avail - refused induction so far, but this is the last day that I have a chance of getting in to our lovely midwife led-unit - otherwise I am automatically "high risk" and have to be in the consultant-led unit.

I haven't posted because I've been so upset about not being able to have the lovely, non-managed active water birth I wanted because monkey is so stubborn!! I must have a comfortable womb or something.

So, I just wanted to let you all know that we are heading into hospital in about 15 mins for "cervical priming" - sounds fun eh? As far as I can see, it's a prostaglandin tampon that they do 24 hours before to try and make you more favourable before full on induction tomorrow. I may have to stay in today - it depends on my Bishops score, which was a lowly 3 on Monday :(

So, a bit sad (and scared) all in all, but I'm ready to meet this monkey. Also, my parents may explode if they don't get to meet baby soon :)

Congrats and hugs to all those that have had babies and issues since I checked last. Although I haven't been reading much, it helps so much that I know this supportive, wonderful group of ladies is here.

Oooh Kayalana, I had one of my weekly 'how many weeks are you' emails through and this week it was about spotting signs that you were near to labour. An unbelievable urge to tidy and prepare was one of them!

Vic-Rich - sorry to hear about your scan. I hope everything goes well today.

Jannine, thank you for your story. So glad Poppy is doing well.

divorcigjack, hope baby appears of it's own accord today! Good luck.

Well, it turns out I can't sleep past 7 anymore, my hips hurt too much in bed now so have to get up. Never mind, toast on the sofa it is. Hope everyone else has a good day.

    Morning,

Congratulation I luv freebies hope you have time to share your birth story with us.

Vic So sorry to hear about your news. I hope you'll have a positive meeting today.

BikelesschickI'm sure you're right about moving to fast on the list. Perhaps once I'm in 30s group I will start panicking.

I'm 21 weeks today (yupppy) and I need to book an appointment to.see my GP at 25 weeks. Any ideas what will happen?I will get to see my midwife at 28 weeks.

Also the MW said to ask my GP for my MAT1 form (or something like that). Do I give that to my employer or hand it in to my MW?Sorry but I'm a little confused.

Glad your feeling bettter this morning Kaylana hope you continue to improve and remember dont do too much, you still need to rest.

divorcingjack massive ((Hugs)) for you and good luck for today, hope everything happens quickly for you now and you dont need to stay in hospital too long x

    happy 36wks LMM

Bellola re vit k, i think we will opt for the single inj having read the info leaflet but may ask mw a bit more about it at next app as no one really explains it.

sending you more labour vibes rjh perhaps the pinapple will take effect today. I know what you mean about fruit juice, i usually drink lots of different juice and keep buying it and then regret it completly as the reflux definatly doent want it.

rasberry leaf tea I have been drinking one cup a day since 32wks and have recently been starting to drink at least 2 a day. The triage mw at the hospital said 32wks was a good time to start drinking it. I like fruit tea anyway so have been enjoying it.

Well I think I have caught up now,

Is Rups back today? if so hope you enjoyed your holiday :)

Aida matb1 form is for your employer and any other people who need proof of your pregnancy, its best to make a few copys. I gave one to my employer, one to OH employer and sent one off to claim cashback on re usable nappies.

Hugs and labour vibes to all who need/want them, have a good day today x

    Hi DivorcingJack,

I also wanted to have a water birth in birthing centre but ended up being induced at 42 weeks same as you. Had the works of waters broken and the drip with epidural. Although I wont say it was the birthing experience I wanted it wasn't that bad. We were discharged the day after and being doing fine ever since.

  • Vic Rich - I can't imagine what it must feel like for you (I got upset just reading it:() but I really hope things work out and both you and baby are safe
divorcingjack - I don't think you'll read this in time but good luck for today.
    LMM - happy 36wks! I

Labour vibes to all the boldies! I'm struggling to get comfy at 31+6, can't imagine what it'll be like in 8 weeks:eek:

I've not got much to report as trying to crack on with studying. It's not moving as fast as I wanted to but after discussing studying on here a few days ago, I realised that I was being too ambitious with my plans so trying to be more realistic now. Have midwife this afternoon so will ask about raspberry leaf tea and report back.

    Have a good day everyone!
