Good news day for me. Had consultant appointment at 36+2 today. Very excited. Basically I've been a bit worried about how they'll let me labour with all the issues I've had. Anyway, she said even though my heartbeat is clearly irregular, now that things have settled down and my lung conditions are back under control there is no reason why I shouldn't have a normal birth.

Since I asked about a water birth she's written all over my notes that if all is well she would like me to have a water birth! :D She's willing to let me go 10 days over and then would like to review the induction situation. She said they probably would do anything but try and break my waters at 10 days over. She said she'd like to avoid induction as much as possible because the drugs used can affect my lung conditions and increase the likelihood of major intervention for me.

I just wanted to try and labour on my own, in birth pool and be induced no earlier than 41 weeks! So I'm VERY happy. :D I know loads could happen between now and then, but this is the first time it's actually been said that I have a chance of getting what I want. I was terrified they would suggest greater interventions. So a very happy twinklie! :D

Congrats on the new arrival i luv freebies.

And I hope that nobody feels the need to leave/not join. Honestly, I'm very sensitive at times and suffer BADLY from foot in mouth syndrome. Really hope it can be chalked up to a misunderstanding - nobody here is nasty, especially not with intent.

Only downside to today is I might have a urinary tract infection and I have given birth to a giant pile!!!! Noooooooooooo.............

    Then get it sorted!! :(

Sorry just came on for a moan about UTI + back pain!! I was feeling really uncomfi yday and had a feeling it was another UTI but thought id leave it another day and omg its horrible!!!!!

I can barley walk, so uncomfi doesn't matter what postion I am in but I have had some spare tablets from the last one (I know I shouldnt of really I did check with my midwife mum but she is no doctor really but I just am that desperate!)

Took tablet about 3pm its just got worse n worse n then in last half n hour out of no where what so ever I've got sudden back pain. So I am sat here on sofa with my maternity pillow behind me ...given up trying to find a postion for it to go away cause it just wont :(

My only small hope is Ive heard back pain can be start of labour but still 9 days to go and have no cramps or any other symtoms so he's probally just lying on somthing or my UTI has done something IDK!!

    *rant over*

Bless you honey, you do sound cheesed off. I promise when I get my test results back (not until Monday) I will get everything sorted then. I have no symptoms though so I can't complain.

Can you get in to see midwife/doc about UTI tomorrow? I'm only 36wks and have had a couple of days recently where I've been in tears because I'm in so much pain - I think mine was caused by position of the baby though. He must have just been lying pressing on something.

    Congrats I Luv Freebies!

Yay twinklie, glad you had a good day.

Kayalana hope you feel better soon and baby comes promptly!

I had a good 36 week appt (although I'm 37 weeks tomorrow!). All measuring fine. Except MW weighed me and I was horrified at how much I had put on! Oh well, serious diet once baby is born. Got to look around the birthing unit which was so nice. But there was 1 lady in labour and she was using the pool so didn't get to see that. Came home and wrote up a rough birth plan. Is anyone handwriting or are you all neatly typing?

MW discussed the Vit K injection which I hadn't heard of before so have to read through the leaflets and decided if we are going with oral, injection or not at all.

    Hope everyone else is ok.
