Can I ask has anyone started to take raspberry leaf tea yet? I've heard it's meant to be good for toning your uterus and thus making labour easier. I forgot to ask the midwife last time I was there as I was late to the appointment so it was all a bit rushed. I'm 34+3 and believe this is the right sort of time to start taking it.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

SM babycentre recommends taking it from 36 weeks however I have read other places that you shouldn't take it before 32 weeks. My midwife last time at 32 weeks was happy for me to start taking it anytime. I haven't actually got round to getting any yet though.

Hi SM supplement list here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=41355184&postcount=2029

I took raspberry leaf tea from 32 weeks and was only pushing for ten mins! Not sure if the tea did it but it's worth a go.

  • Yes SM i have from about 34 weeks. Although it seems to be advised from different stages. My bf gave me some with orders not to take before 38weeks. But as kitten said one midwifey person said 32 weeks so I'm not too sure :-S

    Hi guys,

Hope everyone is doing well and boldies are feeling the labour vibes.

I've not posted in ages but have been reading most days, really nothing going on with me- 17 weeks now, had another mw appointment last week and got to hear bubs heartbeat- 152bpm- not reading anything into it gender wise though :) the midwife also had my triple test screening results back before I had the letter through. 1:2097 so nothing further required. Morocha I think you were asking about this- I only had triple as neither the sonographer or consultant at my scan could get a clear nuchal measurement due to the way bean was lying, have you had the triple yet? My first preg (aged 20) came back with a 1:350 chance which they said was unusual for my age, at 28 the risk on average is 1:1000 so a1:2097 seems good to me. We had already decided though not to do any o the more invasive tests and just take things as they come.

My best friend is being induced tomorrow at 38 weeks- she had a stillborn baby girl last year, at 41 weeks, it was awful but they have
been fantastic with her his time, I'm so so excited, they are having a little boy this time. I'm so happy they are getting their rainbow baby!! Will no doubt report back in screaming caps when bubs arrives! So the main reason I'm on is to ask- and actually the newborn thread would have probably been a better idea- does anyone have contact details/ an idea of the best way to complain to mamas and papas? BF has had a nightmare with things not turning up, turning up too early/ late and bits missing from her crib. She has phones and been fobbed off 3 times. I've told her I'll sort a complaint as she is going to be busy and I relish a good complaint when someone had had bad customer service!!! I think it was gilly who had to complain to them a few months ago?

That's about it from me, not long home from a 24 hr (I get to sleep some of it, lol) shift so my afternoon is going to be taken up attempting to "bake" a nappy cake with DD, could go horribly wrong!!

    Hugs to all!!

I'm jealous! I love rasberry leaf tea but am too chicken to have any because of the supposed early labour risk. From what I can gather from researching online it won't bring on contractions so is safe earlier in pregnancy but will strengthen the uterus and make them more effective when the time comes but I still don't want to risk it!
