Thanks sexy. Might give t a go. Tho don't have any bicarbonate or baking soda. If I use self raising flour instead is that the Same? I'm a bit cooking illiterate
love you lots like jelly tots :o
  • Just read abck over last nights posts...Sorry for the upset I appeared to have caused yesterday, I did say in the post that it was meant in a nice way and I have been over on the <12 week thread offering support and advice the whole way through.

Just incase anybody notices that I have gone missing and worries that means there has been bad news or something, I don't think I will be posting on here much now though (but will probably keep reading for the handy tips) because I think that when written down, with no tone of voice, things can be taken out of context and I just don't want to say anything else to upset anybody.

It's a Univeraal problem on Internet. No tone of voice. I can't count how many times I've taken things the wrong way. Don't take it personally as please keep posting

Mamas and Papas are delivering our travel system today (the Urbo if anyone's interested!)- I hope it comes before 11:30 when OH goes to work, otherwise we'll miss it. When we ordered it we arranged to collect in store and paid the deposit, but long story short MIL2B interfered and changed it to delivery without telling us!

11 working days left before mat leave! Literally counting down the hours, I'm 34 weeks now and struggling.

Can't believe I'm in the 20s on our list now, afraid I might be queue jumping too, baby is breech and midwife says if he doesn't turn in the next two weeks they'll attempt an ECV (I think that's what it's called) and if that doesn't work I'll be booked in for c-section at 38 weeks.

  • Thanks for that sm. I'll have a look now.
Well Aida, in my experience, as time passes by, you sort of wish that your name wouldn't go down so quickly down the list... or is it just me? In the beginning it couldn't come soon enough but now that I 'only' have 10 weeks left, it doesn't feel it's enough time!
Sorry rj but self-raising is just flour with yeast so I think you'd still need bicard. Not 100% sure but hopefully someone else will be able to confirm.
Dizsiebubba - like rj said, it's not personal and it can happen to any of us so don't disappear because we value your opinions and advice ;)

I hope you don't stop posting and we'll all be glad to have 2b3ac also. Variety is the spice of life and I'm in the group that tends to unintentionally offend, rather than being hurt because of a post that wasn't intended that way.

I found this thread so helpful with my first. I'm a bit quieter this time as I'm finding it a bit less daunting, but I'm sure I'll be pitching in more nearer the end. I hope you are there too Dizsie.

Self raising doesn't have yeast in it, it has baking powder. Baking powder is a mix of bicarb and cream of tartar if I remember rightly. You might need more raising power than self raising alone can give if you are missing eggs (depends what you do with them though!).

Anyway, I had my 25 week midwife appt today.... all good so far, apparently she felt a head (breech ATM, but lots of time to turn hopefully, got a birthing ball delivered yesterday so will start looking at sitting on it to get posture right). She also listened to the heartbeat, first time that's happened so far (and for all of those who are thinking of getting a doppler, she started with the "don't worry if we can't get it straight away, sometimes the baby is difficult, it doesn't mean there's anything wrong" speech, but she got it pretty quickly). Then there was the usual check blood pressure and check urine sample, all clear.

Got my MAT1B form and finally the form for the free prescriptions and things. Saw another midwife (haven't seen the same one twice yet so far!). Turns out the community midwives are from the other hospital not the one I'm going to, which might explain why things haven't been quite as joined up as I was hoping (I decided not to ask about my first bounty pack). I'll also need to go to the doctor for a 'fit to fly' letter though it seems... (or fit to ferry in my case!). I also need to phone the hospital to see about tours or NHS antenatal classes.

Student I'm just gonnacollect mine at or gam green but I told him and he is like its a pound eBay it for thirty lol. He doesn't care. Ps if u haven't visited penguin
Tesco yet it's just like western avenue but less busy and with better clearance section lol

My bag hasn't been cancelled? Well no e-mail and just logged into direct and it says created so probably will get cancelled soon. rj, I realised yesterday how close pengam was - 0.85 miles apparently, and we'd already been there. It just feels really empty to me somehow...

anyone ever had a problem with bleeding moles?! I forgot to ask on Sat but I have quite a few moles but noticed one on my arm that had bled?! Dr Google has me believing I now have skin cancer but not sure if it was just the sun. And last night I had a nosebleed, what does that mean?

7 days to go, can't believe number 8 on the list! Sorry the rain has kept you in rj but I am so pleased to see rain, it's been too hot... I am also still in my nightie  last antenatal class today, babycare and yesterdays breastfeeding was really helpful. I just feel like I'm counting down days now, waiting for plug or waters to go and I know they may not go til labour. They let you go about 2 weeks over in Wales, what can I do to keep me sane over the next 7-21 days?!

kitten, your Braxton sounds proper - mine are always at the front and I just seem to have a constant hard bump now, and always a burning pain at the top right but the midwife wasn't concerned when i told her last week xx
