    Morning all!

Had my active/water birth class and labour/birth centre tour last night. Was feeling really nervous about the tour, as I was worried that it'd be like OBEM when you can hear women screaming all over the place, but despite the labour ward being full, you couldn't hear anything! No-one was in the birth center. The actual class beforehand didn't really tell us anything more than what we'd learnt in NCT classes, but it was nice to see a couple of our friends from NCT there who are due next week, and we exchanged some more contact details. :) All of us agreed that one of the birth centre rooms was much nicer than the other two, and said that we'd like to put in a reservation for that one (you can't reserve/book them - you just have to ask if they're available when you turn up at the hospital). I'm keeping my fingers firmly crossed that the birth centre is open when the time comes though, as my friend has wanted to use it with both her children and it's been closed due to staff shortages.

Got to go to the dentist today at 10.30 for my annual check-up. Hope all will be well and she doesn't find any problems that I'm unaware of. My Mum said that pregnancy really affected her teeth badly, so fingers crossed this won't be the case for me.

Happy Due Date to rj - hope you get your mummy cuddles soon.

Well I'd better go and get some breakfast now, as getting hungry and Bean will start to protest soon if I don't. lol

Hugs to all who need or want them, and labour vibes where appropriate.

  • RJH happy due date hun, hope things get moving for you soon!

re Skin my skin has actaully been a lot better since the second trimester so I am more worried now that it won;t stay that way afetr I've had LO! I did change my skincare routine though, so I am hoping that accounts for the lack of spots etc.

Got out of the car this morning and had a wave of pain in the pelvic area - now seems to be happening every time I stand up and move around (not that I have done that much moving around since I got to work, lol!) LO has been having lots of stretches over the last couple of days - OH is excited as our app has said that we are nearly at full term and that baby could be born at any time. I am really hoping to get into September before LO wants to make an appearance though!

The house is nearly finished now - carpenter is in today to fix skirting to whole of downstairs, we've got curtains being taken up at present and main display unit being delivered on Friday. So by Sunday we should have the whole of downstairs finished and everything put away and nice and tidy! We've then only got some minor bits of painting and varnishing to do round the stairs/landing - I have given up on the spare room for now adn that will just have to be our junk room for a bit longer! Although it is nowhere near as bad as when we first started! That only leaves our bedroom to sort out then as it is a mess and we really need some clever storage solutions in there!

I would really like it if the weather could behave as well and stop being so muggy. I have no nice clothes to wear when it is hot and I can't sit around at work in my pants and bra so I am sweltering in here at the mo!

Pirate princess day is a bust cos I looked out window and it is bucketing. So my options are pay for soft play or go to free museum. Both of which will be packed. I did want to do some baking but forgot to get eggs and butter so would be a very dry cake and going to get ingredients means we get soaked.

Re clothes I got a pair of George maternity shorts which are very comfy but so tight on me now I can't wear in public. I'm living in my nightie lol

dizziblonde - thanks for the info on clothes. We don't know what we're having and have been told that people buy you lots of clothes hence only getting 6 of each in newborn size. I was thinking of having more 0-3's. Plus we don't know what we're having so not as much choice.
ikkle - thanks for the info on fb. I'll try to sign up later on today.
Student - I found the deal by accident, was killing time and found myself browsing tesco for baby stuff as I have some vouchers I can double up. I need to find some bargains there ;)
    rj - happy due date!!
sm - I'm glad you enjoyed your tour. I'm still to have mine. Will ask midwife tomorrow though. Do they offer one to you or do you have to ask?

My order got cancelled too :( and the bag has completely disappear from the site!

edit: I just found the bag again but price is showing at £43.97, none in stock.

You could try this recipe for vegan chocolate cake rj - I've not made it myself, but it looks very similar to a link for cupcakes that a US friend has made recently, and doesn't need eggs or butter. Her cupcakes looked lovely and moist.

bikeless - the tour in my case was part of the NHS antenatal class, but at our local hospital (check your hospital website) you can book tours seperately at weekends on Saturdays and Sundays.

Happy Due Date RJ. Hope your little one will be here soon.
Labor vibes to all our boldies.

So happy to be no 73. I was in 80s group for so long and now I'm near to join 60s group. Yuppy

Any other baby deals available at the moment? I might go to Toy u us today and buy more nappies if they still have the BOGOF deal as I have a £5 off coupon if I spend £30.

I wonder when Asda baby event will start.
