I'd go with the long version, and call them by the short Dizsie :) It's what we intend to do, although it will cause a problem with DH's grandma who "doesn't believe in shortening names" :rotfl: She can use the long one if she wants, but they'll always be known by the short one by the rest of the family!:p

    Afternoon all,

Well I'm back from Gunwharf and seeing Moon on my way back, as well as doing some food shopping that I couldn't get yesterday.

Missed the fact that the sleepsuits we wanted at Next had gone into the sale, and they've all sold out in the size we wanted. :( However, although they're a bit more money, I've managed to buy them on ebay (BNWT), so just off to post the cheque now. Decided not to order them in newborn size just in case Bean never fits into them, so have gone for the 0-3months ones (he can always have the arms rolled up etc) and we have some other sleepsuits etc in newborn size from elsewhere.

Well I'd better get a wriggle on down to the postoffice, as paying by cheque so it'll take a while to receive them as will need to wait for payment to clear.

Bought a couple of packs of lindor truffles for £5 at the Lindt store this morning, and got a 200g box of them free for being in the first 100 customers. Not sure that I saved an awful lot of money though, as had to pay for fuel to get there and the parking charges, but never mind - at least I had a chance to have a look at the other types of chocolate they sell but that aren't sold in the supermarkets and it's my Dad's b'day this week, so may give him one of the bags with something else for his present.

    Hugs to all,

    sexymouse xx
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

the thing about this is bump already has a nickname...totally unrelated to either of the above names that is a long standing family joke and i know it will stick!!! Funnily enough not one baby was called by this name in 2011...its so Italian...along the lines of Luigi or Paolo :rotfl:and we would never use it as his real name...but my whole family have called bump it since before we even started TTC..he is my mums imaginary grandchild (weird I know!) thats she uses as an excuse to get her own way with my dad!

sexymouse every time I read your posts it always takes me back 10 years. I used to spend so much of my life wandering round Gunwharf spending my student loan. It's probably changed a lot since those days. And all the talk of chocolate is making me hungry again!

  • Bikeless to be honest, not a lot on the hand front. GP says it’s the pregnancy causing it. If it doesn’t improve they might do a little steroid injection to reduce inflammation. I’m seeing my rheumatologist on Thursday so I’m hoping (and I think the GP is too) that they might have an idea. They had good one day but last few days both middle fingers are stuck curled up.
Kitten lol at the waters/sweat/pee. I know how you feel! Very muggy here even woth doors and windows opened theres no air!
LittleMoog that’s a lovely dress! Not had anything from there though.
Emsaint good luck at the hospital today.
Mummyoftwo I was born at Ulverston hospital. It closed soon after though. Lovely little town J
Ikkle love that picture, is so true! I think I have my next growth scan the day before yours. Cannot wait!
Sexymouse OH loves Lindt chocolate, would need a second mortgage if he found a whole shop lol.

I’m trying to sort out my Paralympic tickets to ones that are wheelchair accessible or ones that are on an aisle etc. They’re going to phone me back…why do I get the feeling they won’t! Done a few other little bits whilst on the computer. Very tricky using a mouse and a proper keyboard L will pack a few bits I sold on Ebay at the weekend. Wow it’s sounding very exciting here lol. Really fancy a runny boiled egg, think I will go an indulge myself J

Hugs *Twinkle*,sound like things are all getting a bit much for you at the moment. I know itis stressful when your OH loses their job (DH was made redundant just beforeChristmas and I was so stressed out at first, crying loads!) but you never knowwhat might come up so try not to worry too much just yet (easier said thandone, I know!). Also, in terms of baby things, if your finding it difficult toget out and about, why not order online.

Mishak, ROFL atyour DH thinking that the maternity ward sounded pornographic and how awfulthat they made DH leave as soon as they put you on the ward. I think this iswhere I would be v.grumpy and discharge myself!

Hugs moneypuddle. Idon’t know anything aboutGroup B Strep but I hope others replies have helped to ease your mind. The oddslook very good with antibiotics and I have read that first-time labour takes anaverage of around 14-18 hours so sounds like you will have plenty of time tolet the take effect. As MMM said, at least they know about it so can make plansto do something about it.

Bellola, I wantto get Five Minutes Peace for baby too – I remember it from when I was little! Also want The Hungry Caterpillar and Dear Zoo.

GemmaE, massive congrats!Hope you and Megan are doing well.

Twinkle, they arev.short visiting times – according to the leaflets mw gave me visiting times atmy hospital is 10am-8pm.

Dizziblonde, yourprevious hospital stay sounds horrendous – hope it is better this time round.

Ikkle, I wascrying at that article you posted!

AFM, I had a lovely weekend. We went shopping in Mothercareon Saturday as my mum had a 20% off voucher for her new local store. We onlybrought bits that I knew where a good price in there anyway so they were evenbetter with the discount.
Then Sunday, we went out with friends to Aquasplashwhich is a swimming pool with a lazy river (basically a current going round theriver-like pool), flumes, rapids and a rubber ring ride. I went on the rapids(just a fast current with slides), lazy river and rubber ring ride. DH keptfussing saying was I sure I could go on them and that he was still worriedabout baby being bashed about and I told him that I wasn’t being bashed aboutso baby wouldn’t be. Anyway, after I saw a sign that said don’t use any of therides if your pregnant. Cue a very serious and worried DH. I told him I wouldcheck later with Doppler. When I listened I could hear baby’s heartbeat andhe/she kept moving away from me so I kept having to find bubba again.
Today, I woke up and the right side of my belly was allrounded whilst the left side wasn’t so baby obviously decided the right side ismore comfy! Also, pretty sure I felt baby move today – felt like nothing else Ihave felt in my life before! So exciting!

  • Walby we have an aqua splash in our town too. I noticed on fb that we went to the same uni so do you live nearby? Bubs likes my right side better, often is solid there, even though he's running out of room he's determined to stay there!

LMM, I just checked on facebook and the Aquasplash we went to is the one in your town! I lived in North London when I went to uni but it was only a half hour commute, I now live in sunny Harlow lol so about 45mins from your town. Small world!

  • Thank you for all the name lists! We haven't got any names yet so we'll probably just browse the list to find something we both like.

LM - it's a lovely dress! I haven't bought from them before so can't help you there.
emsaint - good luck with appointment today.
LMM - I'm sorry your hand is still that bad. I hope the rheumatologist can bring some light on Thursday.
walby - yey on hearing baby on doppler :) I'm pretty sure no water rides or rollercoasters whilst pregnant is the general rule. Glad all is ok though.

I'm finding difficult to concentrate on studying today :( I just want to look at baby things over the internet instead:o

  • Walby I was living in Barnet until moving too Hemel. What's a small world! Especially as Mo2 lives in the next town to my mum!

Bikeless I know how distracting it is when trying to study. Before baby stuff it could dresses, craft stuff in fact anything apart from studying.hope you get your work done. Going to have a little nap, just sitting in bed and a neighbour has decided to start mowing the lawn or something daft
