I've had that feeling for about 10 weeks now ikkle, and I'm a couple of days behind you. It feels like my lady bits will collapse downwards lol. I'm not worried though as I've been the same with my kids.

That quote is really sweet. Can't say any of it resembles DH's reactions, but I can dream I suppose :rotfl:

LMM Well done painting, especially with your hands the way they are.

snowbean Best of luck with your theory test and everything else you have going on.

dizsiebubba Our hospital charges £115 a night but OH's still can't stay and you aren't allowed in there if you have had a caesarean either.

Last time OH stayed with me overnight on a sofa bed in the room but think that was because we were in a special dove room for those who don't have a happy outcome.

  • Morning all!
Well it's still morning as I start typing!

RJHhope you got back to sleep :)
Ikkle there wasn't a sample roll :( we'd actually opened one so we could see the full pattern otherwise I would have ;)
Katyliz hands are a mess! Getting the hand of most things now except tying up my hair lol.
Mummyoftwo no way! I was born in Ulverston so most of my Immediate family live between there, dalton and Barrow! My aunt actually works in the hospital, in the library though so you're unlikely to see her.
SM you mean the chocolate shop? Mmm yummy, not a good morning to be sticky though. Hope you feel better as the morning goes on.
Emsbet sounds like you had a great weekend. I noticed you've wasted no time bumping us up the list a place ;) cannot believe it. Seems only a couple of weeks ago we were in the forties! In my head I'm thinking of 23rd as a EDD as it'll be 10 days over, so of he's before that then I'm happy. Hope you have a restful day.
Dizsie sounds like a great bargain! Our amenity rooms I think are £150ish a night I think whether OH stays or not. I think you're Croydon? Mines Watford. I don't think they provide things for OH like a pull out bed. I think it's harsh to be like oh congrats, here's baby buts it's 8pm so off you go daddy.
Little Moog sounds like your nursery is coming along too :)

I realised yday evening that it was my first day of maternity leave yday! Even though I've been off sick since April. I'm having a relaxing day today. Got a few little bits to do on the PC. Although I really wanna gloss the woodwork. Might try that this afternoon. I do want to try the border, but I bet I'll put it up wonky haha. And as I didn't sleep well, that would not be a good outcome for little miss grumpy!

Hope you all have a good day xx

Yeah apparently we are allowed a couple of hours in the labour room, then if everything is ok we'll be transferred to the ward. Then DH is allowed to settle us in, but if it's not daddy hours, he'll then be told to go. :( I know I'm going to sob my eyes out...but I'll get through it. As long as I've got my baby I'll be fine.

Did have a slight panic of, OMG if he's not there and I have baby - how do I go to the loo!!! Ha ha. It's funny what stupid things panic you.

I slept really well last night actually. Oh is being great this morning too and So is dd. she's helped me sort out her bookcases and her toys and even agreed to throw some out. Oh is doing dishes. I want to Hoover whole flat. I'm rubbish with hoovering. In like a once a month girl. Eek. But it was all done two weeks ago when I expected but to be here but as he isn't guess I better do it again lol.

Baby been quiet but oh says he felt him in sleep. His movements seem so small compared to few weeks ago. He also keeps stocking a knee out lol. Bump achy. Really struggling with the size of it ATM. Can't believe Wednesday is due date!
love you lots like jelly tots :o
  • LMM - so what's the latest with your hands? I thought they were getting better...

Re: hospital rooms. I have no idea what we're doing. Our nearest hospital is midwifery led and OHs can stay 24/7. IMHO, the place is amazing, it's lovely and they seem very accommodating. Saying that, this is my first time and I've not had any problems during the pregnancy but I'm really worried that if anything goes wrong, we'll need the ambulance to the big hospital and anything could happen during that time. Saying that, I'd never considered that if I went straight to the big hospital, DH wouldn't stay with me :(

Snoring - I've got really bad baby brain at the minute but I've just had this feeling that someone mentioned snoring recently and the OH/DH having to go to another room. I just wanted to add that mine has been very bad for several weeks now to the point that DH now sleeps most nights in the spare room. Apparently it's completely normal and there isn't anything you can take. GP was going to consider giving me some steroids but she wasn't sure how this would affect the baby so I declined. I'd rather be safe than sorry...

I am really hating this heat.

As if it isn't bad enough with the waters or pee question now I have the waters/pee/sweat question.

  • Oh Ikkle that quote has made me cry now…at work over my lunch lol! My OH lost his Dad so young that I know he worries about whether he will be a good Dad too, but he is a good man and he works hard for us so I know he will be!
Thanks Kitten! I just can’t be without him… always thought I was independent but not until I’m without the Mr do I realise that I can’t sleep without him in the bed too and that I pine if we aren’t together!!! If he is away for any reason I go stay at my mums in my old bed because at least there I have the comfort of having my parents close…soppy!
LMM – I am not going to Croydon, I’m going to East Surrey as my GP is in the Surrey PCT and apparently my life would have been harder to go to a hospital in another PCT!?
Twinklie – Sobbing my eyes out is how I see myself reacting too L

Ikkle- thanks for that lovely quote, I'm at work and it had me in tears! Embarassing!

OH and I went to a private ante-natal class yesterday - both of us came out totally mentally exhausted- I feel like I've been given TOO much information now and can't possibly decide what I want in my birth plan, since there's pluses and minuses to everything!

And just got back from my 34 week midwife app, she thinks munchkin is breech so is arranging a scan to confirm... If he is, what will it mean?!

    Afternoon ladies :)

The 2011 ONS baby names list has been released, article about it here.

DH and I are still utterly stuck over a boys name, or even a shortlist, that we both like! We just can't agree, or if we do like something it's one of the top 10, or we know someone called it etc. I want something a bit rare, but still a proper traditional name. Current shortlist is Henry, Arthur and Laurence, I love Laurence (Laurie for short) but DH isn't keen. Anyone got any suggestions? Middle names will probably be Malcolm John.

Just ordered this dress for FIL's wedding in October. Anyone had anything from this brand and know what the sizing is like? I've gone for the XL (size 16) but I was a 16/18 before pregnancy so I'm worried it won't fit when I'm 36 weeks! Free delivery, so I thought I'd get it to try.
