    Hey all,

Emsbet, enjoy your spa day/weekend. Thanks for the sling tip, we were looking at the New Native slings however these look similar so will compare, the price is too good not to.

GemmaE, I know how hard it is thinking that your body will let you down again. It must be hard especially at 40 weeks. Mine let me down at 31/32 weeks before and now 34 weeks so already feel I am on borrowed time. Sending lots of good thoughts your way.

    Morning everyone.

I've got my growth scan this morning, so hopefully baby is still growing ok. It'll be another chance to see her, and it's quite nice to get the extra peeks :) I was supposed to be seeing the consultant afterwards, but they don't have a free slot until the 31st which is a bit strange! I've got to see the MW this afternoon anyway, so I doubt it matters much.
    .

Hope she's been a good girl and grown lots for you hun :) mines in 13 days and I'm excited because at 32 weeks I've finally started to get a bit of a podge :)

Do you and your OH have any plans? X

Oh well, that didn't go very well :( Baby has started to fall behind on size now, she's fallen a week and a bit backwards in measurements. The sonographer plotted it on the charts then went to talk to my consultant. I was told the consultant is slightly concerned in view of my history, but not to panic. Anyway, they have decided to do me another growth scan, scheduled at the moment for 2 weeks time, but in the mean time I have to go in for 4-6 hours of CTG over two sessions next week. If they're not happy with that, they'll re scan next week instead. I've also been told to ring labour ward straightaway if movement slows, rather than waiting and trying sugary things/lying down like they normally suggest.

I was trying not to worry with this pregnancy, but no chance of that now! I'm not sure what to do as regards keeping closer eye on movement, as I don't get much anyway. I'm glad I'm seeing the MW in a couple of hours so I can ask some more questions. I couldn't really ask anything earlier as they came to talk to me about the extra appointments in the middle of the waiting room.

    I'm stressed now :(

anyone planning on using washable nappies? i would love to because the thought of how many will get thrown away and the expensive of it all but dont know which ones to go with? i like the look of bambino at the moment

We're using washables. I found this site http://www.goreal.org.uk/ really useful for information on the different types, and then I shopped around for birth-to-potty sets based on the type of nappy we decided we would go for. Ended up buying from https://www.fill-your-pants.com in the end, as they had a good deal on. We've gone for Fuzzibunz pocket nappies as I'm going back to work when Beanie is 8-9 months and I wanted them to be easy for the nursery to use, and quick drying. We've also got a set of washable wipes called Cheeky Wipes, from the same site.
    Morning all!!

Well here we have bright sunshine! And I have four fully open fingers on my right hand :j took a lot of coaxing so hopefully they might stay open.

Thank you Emsbet :) can't believe I'm 35 weeks, so close! Will try and update the list over the weekend without causing too much mayhem as I'll be about. Is this your mums hen party with the spa? That sling looks good too. Did read somewhere about having SPD that a sling close after birth can cause similar pulling so will ask my dr about it. That way I can get extra cuddles with bubba when we're out ;)

My sister had very bad SPD with her second, and found that using her carrying wrap (Moby) in the first few weeks brought back the pain as baby's weight was back in the same position. She waited until a few months after birth for all the ligaments to firm up again, and was then able to use it with no problems.

My friend has given me a wrap similar to the one Emsbet posted, I've tried it out and I think my boobs might be too big for the baby to sit comfortably against my chest! Will have to see once they've arrived as could only test it with a teddy and my bump was in the way as well!

    I come under Bolton NHS
Will let you know what South Manchester Hospitals recommends then :) I didn't know the NW was one of the higher risk of SIDS areas. At what stage of pregnancy did they mention it to you? I've had no comments on any of that sort of thing yet but my 25 week appt is next week.

KatyLiz sorry it was bad news at your scan. Hope you get some answers from the midwife later. At least they've picked up the problem now so can monitor baby closely :o

I was sick again today at almost exactly the same time as yesterday. I have 2 theories, either the yoghurts DH bought (not my usual ones) don't agree with me or it's because I didn't have a mid-morning snack either day due to being in meetings at my normal tea break time.

I have been very weird with yoghurt and milk since I got pg, it's only in the last 3 weeks that I've been able to eat any type again, so will skip the yoghurt tomorrow and see if that helps. It's weird being sick now that I can feel Beanie moving though, as they obviously object to it! Not a nice situation to be unable to stop heaving and whacked in the cervix at the same time! :o:rotfl:

Off for dinner tonight with my best friend from school, she lives in the States now and is here on a flying visit. Last time before the baby arrives, so we're going out for a good old natter over dinner. Less wine than normal though ;)

Wow what a marathon! Just been filling out my SMA application form (yes I know I'm leaving it a bit late at 33+4 but I couldn't be arsed beforehand as I'd anticipated how much effort it'd be). I'm an agency worker, so had to go through the last year's worth of payslips (get paid weekly) and find the 13 highest amounts. I wrote them all down and have tried to calculate what 90% of the average earnings would be too, and it's quite a bit higher than the SMA pay, so looks like I'll hopefully get the full £135.45 a week as this is the lower of the two amounts. Keeping my fingers crossed that they don't find some other technicality to say I can't claim. It's taken me about 2 hours to do all of that! Must go and eat some lunch now.

Hugs to all who need or want them and labour vibes where appropriate!
