  • Laura hope things do start by themselves. Also was told told most women start contracting etc within 24 hours of waters breaking. We're all sending big labour vibes to you :)
LittleMoog hugs for the sickness. Hopefully just a one off. I've had a couple of random vomiting then been ok during the pregnancy.
Emsbet I saw the list and thought I'd missed a baby and I'd gone up a number lol.

OH's workfriend's gf had there baby boy in the early hours of this morning. Her waters broke about 10am yday so he had to leave work in a rush. Sounds quick so hopefully mine is that quick. Bit scary as we're next in our groups of friends

Thank you for the nice wishes bout my silly hand. Still scrunched up. Dr sounded puzzled as not the typical carpel tunnel fingers. Am going in this pm at 4:55 so they can have a look. After finding it all odd in the middle of the night I was having bad dreams about having to go to the hospital and my bag is not packed! I'm now attempting my colour coded list no4 before I pack. I know it's a bit OCD but I'm like that with lists lol.

Laura - good luck, hope things start moving for you and that it all goes well!

LMM - hope you're hand gets better soon, sounds very odd

I'm just popping in to see what people thought of the mothercare event - I have put my name down for tonight but told them I might not be able to make it depending on where i'm working. Well I've ended up working from home but am wondering if its worth going into town for and dragging OH along. The only thing we actually need to buy new is a moses basket mattress I think (getting a car seat 2nd hand from my brother). Is the advice any good - did you get good freebies?

Mothercare event - You get a 10% off voucher to use that night & some samples of the avent lotions and potions for baby.

I found it useful talking to the midwifes about pads I will need after and what to buy in those scenarios etc.

Hope the sickness goes and you feel better soon LittleMoog.

The plumber came out a bit earlier than they said and all is fixed, so I can now have a bath for the first time since Sunday! Yay for being clean!!

Afternoon ladies hope your all well.

I would just like to say  I'm bold!!!!!!!!!!

Not been on in a while as I've been busy trying to get all my uni work done and handed in which thankfully I have now managed. Although when I did take it in I got some funny looks by some of the young girls there. Felt like saying ' I'm in my 30s, married and Ive already done my UG so you can stop looking at me as if you think omg that girl has gone and got herself knocked up!' Guess I should be flattered people think I'm younger than I actually am.

Congrats to all those who have given birth recently.
Rups & Aida :T everything is well with baby. Congrats on team pink (Rups dont peek ;))

Jedi good luck hope it progresses for you

Re free bottle - its from the Advent club. However, I found that despite signing up with Emmas Diary I didn't get anything re advent so signed up to them the other week. May be worth doing to make sure you get the freebie.

Well despite being in early labour for weeks now still no baby. Had the mw this morning and I went in thinking I will have the sweep. However, when I got in she basically told me it would most likely be painful and uncomfortable as my cervix would most likely be too high due to only being 40+1. TMI alert She explained that she would need to pull my cervix forward to get in to do the sweep  so it was my decsion and she wouldn't force me to have it. At this I thought hell no I've heard its agony any way. Any hoo she told me to think about it during my appointment and by the end I needed her to check something else out in that area so thought what the hell (I still think my dates are wrong as from my ovulation dates she would be due the end of July). Well I had the sweep and I must say it wasn't all that bad. It wasn't exactly painful more just uncomfortable and made my stomach feel strange so for anyone who is worried about having one dont be too scared etc (I was and to be honest I feel I worried about nothing). MW said it was a very good sweep :rotfl:Not sure what that means but she was surprised herself that she was able to get a good old rummage in there. Just have to wait and see now

Rups re sun. I went on holiday earlier in my pregnancy and it was 30+ every day. I used a higher factor than normal on my bump but normal on my arms/legs etc. I did however, feel a bit uncomfortable at times and ended up putting a wet towel on my bump to keep it cool. Just remember to drink more than you would. The other thing to remember is that we get vitamin D from the sun so dont worry about going somewhere sunny just be sensible. Oh if your worried about your tooth there are dentist kits you can buy from boots to do repairs until you can get back. Dont know if it will help you or not but thought I would mention it just in case. Use the time to enjoy yourself and relax and make sure you spend quality time with your DH.

Right enough of my epic post. Labour vibes to those who need and want them

    Afternoon ladies,

Im just popping on to check everyone is well as I have MW soon.

Best Wishes Jedi hope things get going on there own

    Congrats on scan Aida

Im feeling so much better today its unbelievable, especially as i gave OH a fright in the night when i woke at 12am feeling awful, pain everywhere, hot and feeling sick he was convinced baby was coming and even after i went back to sleep at 1am he stayed awake all night keeping an eye on me : ) I then actually managed to sleep 6 solid hrs more then i have in days.

Bellola it does sound like your plug, its quite scary being this close yet still a while from dd as every niggle and pain reminds you just how close we could be. We are both 37wks nxt wk and so can have anything happen from then to 42wks wonder who will come first.
I would love baby to wait until sept for school but tbh would love to see baby anytime now as long as she if fine and healthy

    xx

  • Savage lucky my index finger is ok so they do my typing :)
Griggsy glad you had a 'good' sweep and wasn't as bad as expected. Congrats on getting your uni work done. Hope now you can relax a bit before baby comes.
Rups as you are very anxious, I'm not sure you'll enjoy it so I think maybe I should go to Italy instead I've always fancied going there ;) I think those places are a different kind of heat, not muggy and heavy like here. Like others have said use high factor sunscreen, keep in the shade and drink plenty. I would also say eat lots of ice cream too :D Don't worry about eating too much etc just enjoy it all.
