you normally get your MATB1 at 25 weeks hun but you will need to photocopy it to send to Sure Start xx
My midwife said that the MATB1 isn't allowed to be photocopied so she'll give me as many as I need. :S
I know that you can only apply for the Sure Start Maternity Grant from 29 weeks pregnancy but I just wasn't sure if the midwife would give me the form to fill in or whether I'd have to apply for the form myself.:o
Kind of relying on the grant and my OU course grant to pay for baby things as we don't have alot of money at the moment. There seems to be one thing after another that needs paying out for at the moment.2019 Wins

Anyone got a nursing chair? I'm thinking of getting one and wonder where is good to go try some out...0
-
ooh, Jedi how exciting, good luck
savage - I don't have room for a nursing chair, but we were trying them out in Kiddicare anyway. My DH was so impressed with how comfy they were that he considered buying 3 of them and ditching our sofa!Cross Stitch Cafe member no.800 -
Baby has been going mad today. Much more movement than usual and the movement that is there is much more pronounced - anyone else suddenly had this at about 24 weeks? No, I haven't been eating lots of sugar either0

Thank you dizsie, LMM, ferrety, emsbet, LittleMoog and RJH for the advice on bottles. I may just get the avent ones as I'd get 2x125mls plus teats for £5.50 (3 for 2 plus b1g1f voucher) for now. I'll start looking into bottles so at least I know what make I want and I can keep an eye on offers.
Savage - I'm thinking the same, if I can't breastfeed, will use the cup feeding method. Has anyone found that cup though? I tried looking for it but I've not even been able to find out its name, nevermind where I can get it from or how much it is.
Ferrety - I hope all goes well for you...
RJH - I hope you manage to get your car back soon.
Cake4brains - I have a Staffie cross! What colour is yours? Off the subject completely, what do you feed her? Mine is being silly with her food at the moment:(
Laura - that's excellent news! Good luck:)
savage - DH doesn't think a nursing chair is necessary so I was thinking of getting a rocking chair from ikea as we'd still be able to use later. I'm still yet to convince him we need it:jBaby girl born 3rd October 2012:j0 -
Bike less. I got my Avnet stuff in clearance at baby events and have all my bottles and tears 12 bottles more tests, micro sterilizer, travel bag, brush and milk container for £25 for all of that. It's the microwave sterilizer set plus the newborn stater set.love you lots like jelly tots0

well there's this cup!! (what a price!).
As for needing a nursing chair, seeing as if you have a hungry baby you could be feeding them every 2 hours at first and each feed can take up to an hour... I decided on that counts as need. (Ok, sure, you don't need to feed on a nursing chair, anywhere will do, but if I have to be sitting somewhere for that long I'd like to be comfy doing it!)0 -

Feeding cups link above - they just look like regular beakers to me though. Am going to try and find out at our hospital tour next month if my unit will supply them if needed, but I might get some if not.
Bikeless, we have an old IKEA poang chair in the loft which I'm going to use for feeding. Have convinced DH that I *need* the matching footstool thoughLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Hi all!
Wow just back from our final antenatal class. Feels strange now, like we should all go to the hospital and have our babies lol. They were really good, only 4x2 hours, but midwife was wonderful and answered all my daft questions. Feel a bit more prepared, but obviously there's so many variables. She gave us a demo of breast feeding with her handmade boobies. Also a nct breast feeding supporter came to say hi so seems to be a lot of those dotted at centres and clinics for help and advice.
Jedi/Laura hope thing start by themselves so you don't need the pessary. Good luck!!
Dizsie I was the same, but 25 weeks I had all the big stuff and lots of nappies, clothes etcI also got black with small polka dot nighties from Primark that have buttons a good way down, think the same as sexymouse were £4.50 too. I have modelled it on the Facebook page;) Also got some 'big bum' knickers in larger size that were four or five in a pack for £2.50 in Primark too. Not too much more expensive than disposables and hopefully I won't need to throw all of them. I got flip flops for £1.99 in a cheap shoe shop. Whilst all the holiday stuff is about may be worth looking. A small tub of sudocream does last a Long time. You only need a thin layer so the free sample pots will last a while.
Savage yay for more baby movement! I think prob around then I began to feel him a lot more too
Can't believe the price of that cup! I already have a recliner chair that will be perfect for nursing. We've now got a day bed in the nursery so doubt it'll fit but will be able to sit comfortably on the day bed to feed upstairs.
Mishka thanks for that, will have to locate my nearest lidl! When is the offer on from?
I just wanted to ask is anyone had finger numbness? I've had it probably for the last week. Mainly my ring finger and middle finger on both hands. Just numb and tingly on and off day and night. I know the most likely cause is carpel tunnel. Just finding it irritating and wondered of anyone else had similar. Fingers are only slightly swollen, barely noticeable, only realised as my rings dont fit
Hoping to hear some baby news soonbig labour vibes to those needing them. Hope everyone has a decent nights rest xx
