Tattoo, that is one gorgeous dog! I have a little staffie, Im a bit worried how she will be with the babies when we bring them home but suppose we will just have to wait and see. She's been my baby for 9 years though so hope she isnt possessive

And I really should stop 'researching' online. Just found a website about Group B Strep (think someone may have mentioned it on here before). Scary stuff, do midwives discuss it at all?

I read a bit about it with my previous pregnancy and it seems that a test is not routinely offered due to the cost. It is supposed to be about £30 per person. 2 of my SILs had it and one nephew was in NICU, as SIL wasn't aware she had it, so had an antibiotic drip during future labours.

My BF's mum was a midwife and got her to buy a online test to do at 38 weeks. Apparently Strep-B can come and go so the test needs to be near delivery. You do a swab yourself, seal and post back to them to get results.

As I'm having a section, the risks are lower, so I won't do anything about it myself. It should be routinely done. I'm sure most pregnant women would be happy to cover the cost.

wee update - rang hospital at 12pm as as i thought they like you to go in to get checked out, then rang and told DH to make his way home.

got to hospital about 1pm, they confirmed my waters have broken, strapped me up to machine for 30 mins to monitor baby and also me - everything fine. feeling tightnings now and again and could see them on the print out from the machine. sent home to wait until contractions are lasting a minute, at least 3 every 10 mins for 1 - 2 hours. no obvious contractions at the moment.

have been for a 30 min walk, going to listen to my hypno CD now, then will bounce on ball and think about what to have for dinner.

i have till 12pm tomorrow to get in established labour otherwise they will speed things up with a pessary.

thanks for all the well wishes, labour vibes to the other boldies....

I think I have bought too much too soon... I'm 25 weeks and all I have left to buy is:

    Changing Mat
    Sudo Cream
    Talc
    Cotton Wool Balls
    Black Nightdress
    Maternity Knickers
    Cheap Flip flops
    Nappy Bags (Sainsburys Basics)

Although to be fair I have left a small list of things people (I have no idea who these people will be) can buy as gifts if they want to...I call it my wish list as they are not things I NEED but more that I WANT! They are:

    Socks On
    Baby Grooming Kit (Tommee Tippee)
    Bumbo & Tray
Baby Swim Nappy 6-12m (not disposable)
    Baby Gym (Fisherprice Rainforest)
    Chilli Peeps Multi-teat (Asda)
    Cot Mobile (Hungry Caterpillar Style?)
    High Chair

Thanks CL. Will have a look at where I can buy tests. Like you say, £30 is nothing compared to the peace of mind it will bring.

Off to collect a bouncer chair swing type thing I bought on ebay now! (No idea what they are called as you can tell)

    Lots of luck Jedi!!!
