Hey everyone. Hope you're all okay. :)

With the Sure Start Maternity Grant that those on means-tested benefits are eligible for, does the midwife give you the form at 29 weeks or do you phone up to get it yourself? :o

Rups, on the sunshine thing, I burnt a bit Sunday two weeks back when it was sunny, I spent about 2 hours in the weak UK sun tops.... I've never managed to burn in the UK before even with a whole day in the sun! So, pregnant skin really is more sensitive. You should be a bit luckier as you'll have more pigment than me (with the awful summer we've had up here I'm practically translucent!) but you'll probably need to keep a closer eye on your skin than normal and take it a bit easy.

Hey ladies, quick question, I'm absolutely full of cold & really not feeling great, am I ok taking a day off work tomorrow? I'll be 32 weeks tomorrow. I don't want my maternity having to start early or anything. Many thanks

You are fine taking time off sick until 36 weeks. And they can only put you on maternity then if it's directly pregnancy related, so not for tummy bugs or colds or anything.

my work states, if you are off work with a pregnancy related sickness 4 weeks before your due date, then your maternity leave starts early.

I dont think 1 day would count anyway.
