I picked up a nursing pillow which also doubles up as support during pregnancy. Not cheap but with several uses takes away some extra costs. Got it from babies r us

I've got a summer infant support pillow which is amazing and everyone uses it, even my OH and little brother when he's laid on the sofa cos it's that good. I've also got the By Carla heat regulating pillow which in my opinion is a bit poo it's too hard and I struggled to get comfy with it.

Just scared Spud (my brother) we've been watching telly together and I decided to stretch my legs and my belly went into a really tight cramp that made me scream out and double over, he didn't know what to do bless him. Decided I'm going to go bed now as it bloomin hurt :( x
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx
  • Rups I've a long one from Argos. Not sure how much as OH got it for me. To be honest I'm using it more as a V pillow under my neck and to support my back then tucked under the bump at the front and a separate pillow between my legs. I'm kinda wedged so takes me time and effort to roll over.
RJH hope you sleep well and feel better tomorrow.
Emsbet hope you manage to get a decent night I between your cold and hips

Hope everyone who's feeling under the weather today feels better tomorrow and has a good nights sleep. night night and sweet dreams xxx

So sad for Gary Barlow and his wife :(

Hope everyone managed a good night's sleep and those who were feeling a bit rough are better this morning.

I've got to take my son to the GPs today, he seems to have a urine infection. He's terrified though, as he's got to 6 without ever needing to see a doctor, so it's a case of being scared of the unknown.

    Morning All,

wow found the birth unit visit a bit overwhelming, made everything suddenly seem so real and very close, even OH commented on how it brought it all to life. I must say though its a wonderful place and not just because of the lovely rooms which each have a huge on suit. The Mw explianed how the birth unit is there especially for those with a straight forward labour and they do not encourage the use of intervention and have a few MW's who activly encourage you to do it all naturally without the inj for the placenta unless absolutly necessary which is great because OH and I both feel if all is well we want as little intervention as possable but were worried we might be pressured into having things we dont want. Even BF although encouraged is not forced, they have formula on hand just incase you decide you cant/dont want to do it. I am still going to take some ready made and bottles anyway as i am still not sure how i will take to it but i do want to try to see how i feel before deciding.

Rups glad you had a positive experience with your scan and feel so positive about it all. My 20wk pics are good but i also look at those and think they are not quite as good as the 13wk ones.

((hugs)) to everyone feeling a bit down or unwell, it seems to be getting to us all at the moment perhaps there will be some early arrivals this month.

Labour vibes to all who need/want them

Have a good day everyone x

  • moneypuddle so glad that you GP was supportive and that you feel a bit better about things now! Make sure you do take any time off that you need - legally, they cannot touch you for this! I understand your concerns that they may try to make you take your maternity leave early but I think they would only be justified in doing this if you took an extended leave of absence due to pregnancy related illness. Hope it all works out for you in any case. x

Very sad news about the Barlows, don't really know what else to say cos without being funny I don't want to dwell on it in case I start getting worried about LO.

Off for midwife appt this morning, still feeling pretty good at the mo and I don't think I have suffered too badly in the last trimester! I was expecting to have all sorts of probs but apart from my breathing feeling a little more laboured than usual I think I have been quite lucky! oooh, hope i haven't just tempted fate, lol!

My boss has been having a few chats with me lately - he's been really good. He's not really comfortable talking about pregnancy stuff, bless him, but I know he is pleased for me. I think he's a bit concerned too though cos we've just won several projects and normally (because of the clients and type of works that they are) they would come to me to run but they'll just be starting as I go on leave! I think he's concerned that he doesn't really have anyone else that can do this work, plus there's a restructure going on at work at the minute and another Director is trying to get me into his department! It's nice to be wanted, but I'm off in three weeks so all a bit pointless really. But if I'm honest, I can't help but feel sad that someone else is going to get these projects - I know it's silly and I wil lhave my hands full soon enough, but I really do enjoy my job and I know I could deliver these projects really well! Think I am still gettting used to the work - to - home transition. I know some people may think I am mad, but I have been working all my adult life and I was always fairly independant so to give it up and be reliant on someone else feels unsettling to me! Ah well, I am sure it will all be ok in the end!

Hugs to all and labour vibes to those that need or want them! x

The Barlow thing is sad from what I hear but I haven't read the story because I don't want to freak myself out... some of my relatives have had stillbirth babies and I just don't want to think about it :( Does that make me cold? I don't mean to sound cold, just not sure it would be good for me to read about it?
