Aida i know how you feel. before i went in for the scan, i was worried about the sex situation and secondly was just nervous and i could feel my heart beating so so fast! :) it will all go well for you. i had to tryand calm myself down in the room as was missing seeing the baby's eyes and then when i calmed down i was better. phew.

my side hurts bit more today. :( i went to bed with a tummy ache like i had eaten something dogdy. it was still there in the morning but better now just the side.grrr hope all stays well on holiday as being in Italy will be tough and down south they dont even speak English. eek!

also this morning when i went to the loo and i wiped myself, i saw lots of discharge. eek! normal?

Emsbet I'm trying to hide on fb but it's constantly popping up on everyone's page :( my FIL has a hog roast thing on his BBQ that turns the meat around....maybe something like that would be good ;)
    :j happy 35 weeks to you :)

Maybe that would be good, it would save me getting up out of bed to turn over ;)

    Thanks :)

    Good luck Laura

Hiya ladies, hope everyone is ok.

I had a call from the midwife at the hospital yesterday, there were some mixed growth in my urine sample so they need me to do another one, she said I could go back to the hospital (half hour away) or my local doctors (5 mins away) to hand it in. I went to my doctors after work and explained to them and they refused to take a sample off me because I didn't have a letter from the midwife! I went home and called the midwife in the hospital and she went ballistic  and sorted it for me to take my sample into the doctors today.

I've just called the hospital and got my blood test results, all fine, I guess we can start telling people now :D

We went to our local mothercare last night, they have a bit of a sale on at the moment and we managed to get a few bits, got some maternity vests for £2.50 each :j

Very sad news about Gary & Dawn Barlow's baby, heartbreaking, little angel was too precious for earth. Can't imagine how they feel.

  • Oh we must have been there around the same time then? I spotted two indian ladies...one whose husband had blonde hair and one whose had brown hair...who were you?

I think with what to get, it is best to read a few reviews and speak to a few people who have babies now... We have gone for the Tomme Tippee Closer to Nature Bottles because I intend on BF and expressing and have read good reviews and had good recommendations. We bought the set as a whole with steriliser etc. I have heard good things about Dr Browns for colic but they are expensive so will buy a couple if he is colic-y and we need them.

Shame you didn't buy any more because of the 10% off...

SIL had her 4th baby last year and ended up in hospital in the middle of the night with a false start. My DH got a call to go to their house to sit with the other children. It seems hard to tell when it's really starting doesn't it?

Good luck Jedi! I hope you get the intervention free birth you want. I'm looking forward to some more announcements and baby photos soon!

ahh yes i saw the other indian woman. she was tinier than me. i was the one with the blonde husband and he was wearing the blue t-shirt. damn. i wish i had known you were there. would have said hello. :P

yeah the women recommened the tommie tippee stuff and did say the Dr Browns is very expensive even though the material they use is amazing and close to the baby feeling the breast, if that makes sense. we were impressed with th TT stuff and not Avent. we stayed there for ages around that section as it was confusing. I think my mum said yesterday my sis in law and brother might get us a sterilizer and if they do, that would be great as they have had 2 kids. they did recommend to get one for the microwave though. eek! i was overwhelmed there and the thought of labour sunk in then and i got scared lol

Had my midwife appointment yesterday. She's coming to the cottage on Thursday to do a proper booking in appointment (bloods etc) because of me being new to the area. I'm really not used to such personalised care - I've never seen the same midwife more than once where I used to live, and am quite freaked out by her coming to my house. That said, she was lovely and has totally put me at my ease already. She's bringing a student with her (a man I think).

She did ask if there had been any concerns re:babies growth - I've been measuring on/above 90th percentile - so not sure what she meant by that - will ask on Thursday. Babies heartbeat was bang on, and he's starting to engage. ARGH! That freaked me out a bit. As if he's engaging!!!
