Good luck Laura and to all the other boldies too!
Re: bottles when breastfeeding. Thanks for the recommendation dizsie. It reminds me that I've got a b1g1f boots voucher for avent 125mls. I was going to buy 2 and get some 0+ slow flow teats but then I realised I know nothing about that! I intend to bf so what should I be getting? As in how many, what size, what teats? Also, I thought I could just boil them in hot water as the bottles won't be used all the time. Or should I get a steriliser as well?:jBaby girl born 3rd October 2012:j0 -
ahh yes i saw the other indian woman. she was tinier than me. i was the one with the blonde husband and he was wearing the blue t-shirt. damn. i wish i had known you were there. would have said hello. :P
yeah the women recommened the tommie tippee stuff and did say the Dr Browns is very expensive even though the material they use is amazing and close to the baby feeling the breast, if that makes sense. we were impressed with th TT stuff and not Avent. we stayed there for ages around that section as it was confusing. I think my mum said yesterday my sis in law and brother might get us a sterilizer and if they do, that would be great as they have had 2 kids. they did recommend to get one for the microwave though. eek! i was overwhelmed there and the thought of labour sunk in then and i got scared lol
Except I couldn't say hello to any indian woman incase people thought I was mad!! (To clarify I don't mean for talking to Indian women...I mean because they might not have been you!!!) I was with my mum as OH wasn't home from work...she comes to loads of things with me and it makes me look like a single parent lol!
Your OH looked like he was interested at least though...I saw him examining the bottles while I was looking for some more bibs so it seems you are making progress!:jBaby Boy born December 20120 -

Bikeless a few people have said the smaller bottles really don't last very long as soon they take more than 125mls. How long 'long' is I don't know. We got the TT kit, bottles, steriliser, brush, warmer etc in a big box months ago. Mainly as it was offer lol. Am planning to bf too so it's all still sealed in the box. If you've got a coupon may be worth getting a couple of bottles anyway, also eBay them or something if you don't use them.
Rups - Microwave sterilisers just be careful here that they fit in your microwave! I think there's a make that is quite big. I'm sure I read on the newborn thread a while back that it didn't fit in the microwave and you don't wanna be stuck with a hungry baby. It's the kinda thing that would happen to me lol.:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j

Hi All,
im getting a bit worried about jumping the list now. I have had 4 or 5 days now of very sleepless nights, pain in my tummy and loose bowls. Now today i feel sickly and out of sorts.
I do have a MW check tomorrow and can still move, breath, talk and eat and drink so unless anything gets worse i will leave it until then.
Those of you who have been there before is this the start of things changing? very early signs of labour?
Im 36+1 and have had a problem free time with no sickness or anything throughout.
I cant have anything happen this week as i cant use the birthing centre if prior to 37wks so if this is the start of things baby needs to wait until monday at least.
Re bottles: i bought a mam starter set as they seemed to be a good quality for a good price, OH and i decided we didnt like the look of avent and couldnt afford dr browns.Rachel

On bottles, I've heard good things about the Medela Calma bottles. I've been given a steriliser though (Avent I think) so should check that the bottles fit before I buy any! Although in the first few weeks if I need to not breastfeed for whatever reason I will try the cup thing Turtlemoose posted a while back to avoid nipple confusion...0

I should really post more often cos I always forget what I want to say
Congrats Jen77 and Clarissa
Moneypuddle - love your nursery, its absolutely gorgeous. Are the owl and bird wall hangings from Babies R Us? So glad you have an understanding doctor. Its great when you can speak openly to them
Happy belated birthday wishes to Moneypuddle and Gemma (and Happy Anniversary for yesterday)
Baby books I was such a bookworm growing up, never without a book in my hand and my parents used to beg me to go out and play! Have been given some books already by DH's relatives that belonged to their daughters - not sure what they are yet but I cant wait to start buying books now! Have kept a few of mine such as Hans Christian Anderson and My First Christmas Book. Will definitely be getting Enid Blytons (though I cant stand Noddy!). Im hoping I can get DH to make a nice bookcase for them :j
Thanks for the links on Batch cooking recipes. Really need to eat things from our freezer to make room, Im dying to start making things up ready. Only thing is our freezers full of fishfingers and fishcakes as they were then only things I wanted when I had MS but now I cant stand the sight of them :rotfl:
Ferrety - your pain sounds very similar to what Im experiencing. I know you're a lot further along than me, but it feels like a bad stitch near my belly-button. Sometimes it feels like tearing as well, can only assume its the muscles inside getting stretched. Hope it eases soon
LittleMoog, love that your DH has been blowing raspberries to the baby! I practically have to force DH to feel kicks or talk to the babies. He cant wait for them to arrive but just doesnt seem that interested while theyre in my belly
Rups - so glad your scan went well. And glad you're feeling happier knowing you can find out the sex whenever you want! As for the Sleep pillow - my stepmother made mine by rolling a cheap thin duvet lengthways and making an old duvet cover into a pillowcase. I love it and DH uses it all the time too (as he works nights so we bed-share!)
Jedi - lots of luck - sounds like you will be having cuddles soon!
Anterior placentas - both of ours are anterior but Ive been feeling lots of movements since about wk 16 so dont know where they are. Didnt really take notice of where she had the probe at the last scan as I was too busy being nosy at the screen!
Rjh - sorry you're having car stresses. Theyre nothing but money machines . We're forever having problems with ours too. Cant afford to downgrade atm either. Hope you get it sorted soon
Tattoo - have you told close family already? Its so exciting being able to break the news to everyone :T
Sorry for the massive post!:j:T Gorgeous twin girls born 1st Nov 2012 :T:j0 -
ferrety - no idea if its the start but hope baby waits til Monday for you!:j:T Gorgeous twin girls born 1st Nov 2012 :T:j0
