Love the room kitten_pie - that is so cute :)

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. I had a lovely day yesterday.

I also went to the doctors this morning to speak about how I'm feeling about work as I've been majorly stressed as some of you will know.

It wasn't a doctor I've ever seen before, as I only registered at this doctors at the start of my pregnancy and have never had any need to see her so far. I feel a bit of a fool as I went into her room and just burst into tears, and she had to sort of guess what was wrong with me through my sobs. I finally managed to say how stressed I am feeling by work, how my (female) boss is unsupportive, piling the work on, and how I feel as though my boss has taken against me very strongly since I told her I was pregnant. (She seems to have taken my decision to have a baby very personally and our relationship has changed massively since I let her know 24 weeks ago.)

The Dr was wonderful. Very caring, told me she would sign me off sick there and then if I wanted and I wouldn't have to go back to work at all. I was quite shocked how "easy" it was. She actually said "I've known you 3 minutes. Your boss has known you 5 years. I can see how clearly stressed you are and it makes me very annoyed that she either can't see or chooses not to see that for herself" which I thought was really nice. I've been so stressed I've started to wring my hands etc and I think that really showed because I do have a bit of White Coat Syndrome too. We discussed my money worries too, and how concerned I was about being signed off, and not earning, and my boss being able to put me on maternity leave when she wanted if I was 'off sick' and together we kind of decided the best course of action was to take sick days off as and when I want them, and if I feel so overwhelmed again, to leave work, get in to see her on an emergency appointment and she will 'do what needs to be done' to help me out.

So although I'm still working, I'm glad to have registered the problem with someone so nice, and feel a lot better to have talked it through. Also just wanted to say thank you to everyone on here who encouraged me to talk to a doctor about it as I wouldn't have even gone without listening to you :)

    (moneypuddle: 31 weeks & 4 days) x

I'm glad you are feeling better Moneypuddle and I love the way you sign off with how far along you are. It puts a post in context without having to look back to the list. Can we all do this?
  • I've been following the thread on my phone but posting is such a hassle and I've not had a chance to get to the laptop till now.

Congrats to all who have had their LOs recently.

Belated birthday to Gemma and moneypuddle. Moneypuddle - well done for being brave enough to go gps and being open about how you really feel. It sound like you feel better already! Good for you! Just remember that you and the baby have to come first ;)

rj - I hope you manage to get your finances in order somehow. Isn't there any other support you can access at all?

Scans - looks like quite a few ladies have had scans today. I'm glad all scans went well.

Good luck to all the boldies!

I can't remember much else I've read so my apologies!

Not much to report this end, my iron levels came out as slightly low so I'm on iron tablets now and we've finally bought our travel system, which is very exciting! Oh, I went swimming for the first time since pregnant and realised that my tankini is a bit too big so if anyone is thinking of buying one, I'd probably recommend trying one size smaller as well as your normal size. I thought mine was fine but not the case when I got in the water:o it's not too bad, I can still wear it but not ideal.

    Have a great evening everyone!

I am going to be ignorant here but really want to know.

When a baby is stillborn, does the mother does not notice is not moving ? i think you have to feel x amounts of movements per day otherwise go to emergency. When i had DD i was counting her movements per day, i dont think i could go to sleep if she didnt move one day.

With my boys I went into the hospital on the Friday because I felt weird. Everything was fine and I was sent home. I then went in on the Monday because I hadn't felt them as much to be told that I had lost Lincoln. We heard Nathan's heartbeat which was faint but by the time the consultant got to us he had also passed away. It took minutes for them to die and there was nothing they could have done even if they had known what was happening when I first went in.

She was 7 weeks premature, which may have played a part in it but i think its unfair for any of us to speculate what went wrong !

poor poor gary and dawn barlow. I can't imagine how you cope with that.

Hope its not upset anyone here, especially those who have suffered a loss.

RJH- hope you are able to get money sorted out soon, it must be that time of year for cars- DHs car is falling apart too.

Moneypuddle- glad GP was helpful. Hopefully knowing that someone else sees it as you do will help some.

I can't remember anything else- apologies.

Off to DDs last playgroup of the SUmmer tomorrow, seeing mum on Wednesday and having a sweep in the afternoon. Hope it works, but we have a man coming to cut back our conifers on Thursday pm, only charging £25 and he will take away all of the cuttings too.

Sooo hungry- may nibble on some fridge cake......

Probably that my car is 1996 doesn't help lol.

Only have one person here with a car and she works a lot and travels home to her mum in England a lot. She also is going on holiday soon too.

Re extra finance wouldn't be so bad but they stopped my tax credits while me and oh apply for joint tax credits claim and I'm struggling without the money. Also my housing benefit has stopped while we are reassess too. :(

Eug spent the past three hours in bed. Feel poorly nauseous and my bum just exploded. Sorry tmi.

Thanks for all your support guys xx
love you lots like jelly tots :o

hope you are ok rjh. i hope the money situation gets sorted too.

very sad news about gary barlow and his wife. :( that would be so so upsetting. so sorry about your news too kittenpie. i lost my little one at an early stage of 5-6 weeks in January and i cant even imagine how you must have felt. :( hugs. hope they cope in time and are strong for each other.

moneypuddle glad you have a sympathetic GP and she listened and helped you out. hope you are feeling much better. xxx

we checked out the event at mothercare and it was actually quite nice. was quite overwhelming as there is stuff everywhere. we just had a look around and then made a mental note of things, like we loved this cotbed set with a wardrobe and drawers all for 550 and we want that. the lady there was nice and said the first thing to start worrying about is the hospital bag and getting stuff for that. also the furniture etc but that can come second. it was nice. i bought myself a 'i love my bump' tshirt as hubby liked that.

then home to eat some dinner and am now tired. am so relieved bubba is ok. the scan looks so different compared to 13 weeks. :) that word shy made me laugh too. he/she didnt want to be looked at. i like naughty. :)

does anyone use that long sleep pillow? Do you know where i can get one not very expensive please, as i saw some in Mothercare today and they cost a bomb there!! The one that sits comfortably under bump as well? it takes me ages to turn from one side to the other and it feels weird.

I have the small wedge shaped pillow from mothercare, which is only £1. It props my bump up nicely and is easy to turn around in the night. I don't need a pillow between my knees though, so it's just what I need :)
