Glad everything went well Rups :) I don't know how you're holding off from peeking at the envelope, I'd have had it opened in seconds! Have fun at the Mothercare event.

rjh - Hope you find some money to fix the car, I share your frustration on that one. We've got loads of car problems.

kitten - the wall stickers are really sweet. Is baby sharing with you?

Frustrating day here - council won't come out until Thursday or Friday and we aren't allowed to use the bath. We only have one bathroom, and the hot tap in the sink doesn't even work, so it isn't like we have an alternative place to get clean. I dread to think how stinky we'll all be by then!

Love the room kitten_pie - that is so cute :)

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. I had a lovely day yesterday.

I also went to the doctors this morning to speak about how I'm feeling about work as I've been majorly stressed as some of you will know.

It wasn't a doctor I've ever seen before, as I only registered at this doctors at the start of my pregnancy and have never had any need to see her so far. I feel a bit of a fool as I went into her room and just burst into tears, and she had to sort of guess what was wrong with me through my sobs. I finally managed to say how stressed I am feeling by work, how my (female) boss is unsupportive, piling the work on, and how I feel as though my boss has taken against me very strongly since I told her I was pregnant. (She seems to have taken my decision to have a baby very personally and our relationship has changed massively since I let her know 24 weeks ago.)

The Dr was wonderful. Very caring, told me she would sign me off sick there and then if I wanted and I wouldn't have to go back to work at all. I was quite shocked how "easy" it was. She actually said "I've known you 3 minutes. Your boss has known you 5 years. I can see how clearly stressed you are and it makes me very annoyed that she either can't see or chooses not to see that for herself" which I thought was really nice. I've been so stressed I've started to wring my hands etc and I think that really showed because I do have a bit of White Coat Syndrome too. We discussed my money worries too, and how concerned I was about being signed off, and not earning, and my boss being able to put me on maternity leave when she wanted if I was 'off sick' and together we kind of decided the best course of action was to take sick days off as and when I want them, and if I feel so overwhelmed again, to leave work, get in to see her on an emergency appointment and she will 'do what needs to be done' to help me out.

So although I'm still working, I'm glad to have registered the problem with someone so nice, and feel a lot better to have talked it through. Also just wanted to say thank you to everyone on here who encouraged me to talk to a doctor about it as I wouldn't have even gone without listening to you :)

  • Thank you sexymouse I'll check that out tomorrow. I'll prob print it off to and hand write it.
Rups yay for your scan!!! Glad everything is ok. I always laugh how sonographers call these babies 'shy' I prefer the term 'naughty' lol. I'm sure you'll still be anxious, but I hope now you know everything is ok and baby is growing to plan you can start to enjoy it more. I'd be ripping that paper open too! Maybe for now just knowing baby is fine is enough. And now you can start shopping yay!!!! Are you on our Facebook group? Enjoy our Mothercare event
RJH hugs hun, i can't imagine the extra stress this is causing you. The whole system sucks, especially when you've worked and paid your taxes etc. have you anyone that could give you a lift?
Kitten at our 20 week scan bubba's belly was slightly bigger than average. They didn't seem too worried, I joked like baby like daddy hehe.
Emsbet glad you got to see everything. Sounds like lots of bits of equipment to help out during labour there.
Money puddle glad you're feeling better after talking it through. I know my work don't make you go onto maternity until 36 weeks if you're off with pregnancy related illness. I guess it depends how good your sick pay is. I'm glad your dr was understanding, I felt very silly going in there and sobbing too.

I've woken up with bubba really high up causing heartburn. He's probably wondering where dinner is!

Hope everyone has a nice evening xx

We are in a one bedroom flat at the moment so not much choice but we will manage. We have options if we find it too difficult.

Moneypuddle glad you have a sympathetic GP and that she will be supportive, that in itself must be a relief.

So sad to hear about Gary Barlow and his family. Lots of virtual love to little Poppy Barlow

I am going to be ignorant here but really want to know.

When a baby is stillborn, does the mother does not notice is not moving ? i think you have to feel x amounts of movements per day otherwise go to emergency. When i had DD i was counting her movements per day, i dont think i could go to sleep if she didnt move one day.
