Went to a boot sale yesterday and got 10 assorted vests / tops in perfect condition with poppers under the bum for £2.00 ...they were mostly from Next or Mothercare and 3 were brand new all newborn or 0-3

Also got a beige duffle coat (0-3) from Next for £1... washed it on woolens last night and it looks brand new

Ikkle sorry to hear about your Mum and her 'demands'! Stick to you guns though - it is your birth plan and what you want so she'll just have to lump it!

morocho your post worries me a little; as long as you eat sensibly there is no reason why you should put on lots of weight during your pregnancy but weight gain IS normal! Please don't think that you have to start cutting back or denying yourself food as this is more harmful to you and baby. I know it is hard - I had the same concerns myself when I found out I was pregnant - but you just have to go with the flow and think about baby first and foremost.

Moneypuddle I am very jealous of your nursery pics! We painted the box room at the weekend and put the furniture in - there is no room to move! It is crammed in there and looks wrong. We're now debating decorating the spare room instead which would have a lot more space but it's more time and effort! OH has said he will do it, but I am not sure - think we might manage as we are as baby will not really spend a great deal of time in the nursery anyway to begin with and then look to decorate the spare room as a proper bedroom in about six months or so. By then we'll know if it's a boy or a girl and can get the carpet replaced and the like so it makes more sense to wait. i say it makes sense, but I am so impatient and I want it doing now! LOL

OH and I have not been getting on recently; it's all silly stuff really but he has said on a few occasions that i have said something and then said something else later and then he accuses me of lying! the last two times this has happened I KNOW what I have actually said and he definitely has got it wrong, but he won't accept it. The first time it happened he was quoting a conversation I had with my Mum and I couldn;t remember the exact words that i used but I paraphrased what I had said - this equated to me lying as well! I told him straight out I couldn't remember the exact phrase but that this did not make me a liar! He says his Mum does the same - says one thing and then swears blind later on that she didn't but I have noticed that this is something that HE does! It's hard cos I don't want to get into arguments - i am stressed enough at the moment and I can do without confrontations - but I don't want to back down and be a doormat either! He just doesn't seem able to talk about these kind of things rationally - he gets defensive or arsey and then as a result becomes verbally aggressive. I am convinced that he doesn't realise how he speaks to people sometimes and I have tried to tell him that he needs to listen to how he actually says things, but he just says he wasn;t getting angry and thinks that's the end of it. I don;t know, I love him and he is a great guy but it frustrates me that he can't communicate effectively. Sorry, that turned into a long rant and I really didn't mean it to!

Got rid of lots of stuff on freecycle yesterday - in one way I was gutted cos it's all stuff that really I shouldhave sold on but that would mean either putting lots of stuff on ebay and not necessarily getting what they are worth for them, or putting ads on preloved/gumtree and then possibly not shifting it for ages. need the stuff gone now! On the other hand, it was really lovely to see how pleased people were with the items so I felt quite good in the end! Plus it really is helping me declutter and get some much needed space so that is good.

35 weeks this Wednesday - eek! Going to look to pack hospital bag this week; been so busy on focusing on things for the house that I haven't really got my hospital stuff sorted yet! Ah well, it will all come together I am sure!

Morning all,

My cold seems to have come back this morning
((hugs)) to everyone who is struggling to get comfy and/or sleep. I find the only place I can get comfy is my birthing ball but even that makes my bum go numb after a while. Leaning over it would be nice and comfy if it didn't make my boobs hurt. As for sleeping, I think I may have to go back in the spare room as I have to get up every 30mins- 1 hour to turn over and then twice a night I have to sit up for 30mins to give my hips a break. I'm sure poor DH isn't getting much sleep but he's too nice to say.

Ferrety, I think the pain you describe is baby pushing against your tummy and stretching everything. I've had the same thing at the top of my bump for weeks and then yesterday it moved further down. For me it's where (I think) baby's bum is sticking out and he's moved down more the last few days.

morning ladies.. how are you all? lots of hugs to those who couldnt sleep well or are in pain. xxxx

thanks also for all the advise. i spoke to my best friend who is Germany yesterday as didnt want to continue feeling down. weirdly she took DH's point of view and said that yes i am looking after our child in me, but he also has a right as a dad and if i find out, i will tell him and he will look for moments for me to slip up. lol. we shall see. maybe i will ask for the lady to write it down on an envelope and i can see it later or not. i know everyone is saying what a lovely surprise it is at the end. at the end of it, want to know if bubba is growing well you know? my stubborness with his will only make us fight and fight and i cant do it for the rest of the pregnancy as it is draining. sigh.

also we didnt talk about it so will bring it up later today. have written him a long message on FB (i know this is the only way when hes still in his feiry world) that what he said about my jobs etc was totally unacceptable. hope he has read it.

well last night we attempted some naughty times lol. this was the first time since conceving and i was so scared. hope we didnt hurt bump and hope missionary is ok. eek! kept telling him to get off. look at us doing silly things before the scan. lol

i am sure we will work it out.

LMM seems like you had lots of fun miss monkeymoo i know how you feel. i hope we all can sort our stuff out. like it was said here its such a trying time for all of us. sigh.wish they understood a bit how we feel but genetically they dont.:( we def try and see how they feel ie they are scared too etc etc but why cant they have more tolerance with us? my friend always says men get so fed up when women moan or say they are ill etc etc.. shame as we are the more understanding species. xx

morning all
hope everyone had nice weekends, we were very busy with sorting/organising in Beanie's room. We got it all cleared, which involved me putting my degree notes in the recycling, I feel a bit sad about it but we don't have space to store them now and I refer to them once in a blue moon. I've kept a couple of useful lecture courses, and I have my textbooks at work already, so I can find any info I need. Still sad seeing 5 years of work in the wheelie bin though!

Room cleared though, and we got all the stuff for painting etc at Homebase on their 15% off weekend, so that's next weekend's job sorted out!.

DH has discovered a game he can play with Beanie, he rasps different parts of my tummy and then puts his ear there, and Beanie kicks him in the head! He seemed ridiculously pleased about it, and was quite disappointed when I got fed up of being rasped/kicked after 15 minutes. Think Beanie was overexcited as they were going crazy in there! :rotfl:

I was so thorough ... I used the rule somebody else told us about on here that if the person doesn't look very well groomed themselves then not to even bother looking

I also avoided anything I could see was a primark label as they don't last well so not great second hand

I am really picky... I don't like anything on the clothes e.g trains, planes, boats, teddies etc which is making it hard for me to buy in the shops
