Welcome cherrydrop, I'll add you to the list now. ((hugs)) for being made redundant. I was made redundant at 16 weeks.

Thanks hun, i'm coming to terms with it and going through consultations at the moment, am looking to the future now and looking at doing what i've always wanted to do and work in a veterinary practice when Flump's a bit older. Silver lining and all that!

i love the hungry caterpiller stuff - brought the bibs from sainsburys a while back.

i managed to watch an hour and a half of the olympic ceremony, then my bed was calling. have been watching a bit of the swimming and road race today.

i am very chilled out at the moment, not anxious or inpatient about due date being on monday but family are. MIL phoned in the week and has also visited today saying she is nervous (she rarely visits us). i wish everyone would just chill as their bad vibes will rub off on me.

have a meal out for my sisters birthday tomorrow and know i will be questioned on names, symptoms blah blah blah lol

hugs for ikkle and rups :)

    go team GB!

thought some peeps might be interested in this stats page about when women give birth compared to their due date.

    http://spacefem.com/pregnant/charts/duedate0.php

you can also take part in the survey if you have given birth, there is a link at the top saying take survey.

i am quite interested in this as my due date was moved forward by 6 days at my first scan so i still have my original due date at the back of my mind, so wont be leaping for induction until at least 42 weeks if me and bubs are fine.

I have finished nesting! Took blimmin ages and now I'm exhausted. But the house is clean from top to bottom. (apart from the conservatory but we won't talk about that)

I also packed my hospital and labour bag today! Had been putting it off for ages and ages and everyone kept nagging me. So that's another thing done.

Robyn - congratulations! Looking forward to hearing your story and hopefully seeing a pic.

As for going back to work/staying at home, we have planned for me to stay at home after the birth. We have saved really hard for the last year and are prepared to cut back as we both want me to be able to bring the baby up full time. I've taken the year's maternity leave from work so I can see how I feel in a year's time. And I can go back to work if I want, or ask for reduced hours, or even do something completely different for a few hours a week, as I really don't know how I'll feel.

Can I tell you what bugs me though? People (ie friends) who judge me for saying I'm not planning on going back to work! I would never dream of judging someone who either wants or has to go back to work, so why judge me for saying I want to stay at home?? And another thing -- don't even go there with money as you don't know my/our financial situation! I'm sick of my friend saying, oh but you'll get fed up of asking your husband for money blah blah. Really? You don't know what our situation is! So button it!

    Sorry rant over...

Had a lovely meal out last night and really stuffed myself silly (and had a glass of wine) as I might not be going out for a meal with her for a while... Am going round my friend's for a takeaway tonight and I can cuddle her gorgeous 4 month old son. Not while I'm eating the chow mein obviously.

In other news, I got chatting to a girl while I was waiting to see my midwife on Thursday and she is due 3 weeks after me and seemed really nice and normal so we swapped facebook details and I might have a new baby friend soon!

So glad the weather has cooled down slightly. Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend.

Hugs to those who need them x

Glad you've managed to get everything sorted Chrissy. I think pregnancy just brings out the worst in people and lets them think they can comment on every aspect of your life, if it's not going back to work or money it's the name of your baby or the type of pushchair you've bought or how when they were pregnant they did things a different way. Tell em to bog off :)
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Chrissy - Because I earn more than my OH (only a slight sore point in our house!), we're planning on me going back to work when I would be having only SMP, no additional money on top of that as we basically couldn't afford to live on my OH's salary and SMP. EVERY time it's been discussed with anyone else I really feel as if they're judging me for going back to work. I want to shout at them 'NO I'd love to be off of work for ages and only come to see you all being really tired and grumpy and stressed when I'm having fun with my baby' !!! How unprofessional?!?!

I have done well and still haven't opened the packages... literally clock-watching to see when the OH will be getting home! :T

Rups I put on my lasinoh nipple cream. Ladies who are planning on breast feeding this stuff is a god send.

But alas niipples still sure and breasts tender and leaking :(. Shouldn't complain maybe it means labour is coming. I dunno cos I was induced with my first so never had any labour signs as such
love you lots like jelly tots :o
