This hospital bag chat has made me want to go and check and repack mine... it's ages since I packed it and I can't remember half of what is in it! Plus, that'll fill twenty minutes of my day at least
I just got a delivery of new nespresso capsules for my nespresso machine (you must all think I'm some kitchen gadget weirdo with my Magimix and coffee machine... but honestly, that's the lot!!!) so maybe I'll test out a few of them.... I've got 100 new capsules. I wonder what 100 cups of coffee would do to me and the baby today...hmmmm.. mustn't get so bored that I start that experiment :eek:0 -

Haha! Yes! I also would like a Magimix icecream maker - do you have one of those??? I only have a cheapy one that doesn't freeze the icecream
I have just filled a bit of time taking another over-due bump pic in a clingy top! I look masssssive even if I don't feel it! I have 2 people coming round later to look at something I am selling on Ebay - how stupid am I.....selling something when I am this over-due??!! But that's what boredom does!
I am not going to be baking cakes today but will make 2 risottos - one for our dinner and the other as I promised I would make one for someone else. It is seriously easy for anyone who likes risottos - all cooked in the oven - no stupid stirring constantly and you can put in whatever you like (I like what it comes with - others might not!): http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1782/ovenbaked-porcini-and-thyme-risotto0 -
Will give that a go Dida!
Going to go through my freezer/cupboards this weekend and get rid of all the food that's either out of date or we're not going to eat and try to plan some meals around what we have. Any suggestions of the best way to do this? Make a list of everything I've got and try to match it to recipes?
Not feeling good today, can't explain it really but feel a bit like I'm going to faint and a bit like I'm going to be sick - without enough of either feeling to say that that's what I feel?My Debt Free Diary

I have felt sick for the latter part of my pregnancy - it might just be something that you have to live with I'm afraid- I have felt slightly queasy when I am hungry or when I have just eaten - I cannot wait to have a meal and not feel like this afterwards!
As for the cupboards - I get my OH to do this (tins can be very heavy you know!!!) and he ends up doing something with all the old stuff that I refuse to do anything with - he hates chucking stuff out! Its great - try it! I don't always want to eat what he has come up with mind you.....but he will eat it and it uses up any out of date stuff (blokes generally aren't fussy!!!).
Or you could just have one cupboard with all the "use me now" stuff it in - and keep going at it until its all gone???
I have just done all my Adpoint adverts and uploaded my shopandscan stuff in case I happen (haha....its soooo not gonna happen!) to go into labour before they drag me in next week!0 -
I don't mind feeling slightly sick, it's the fainty feeling that I'm not enjoying! I'll drink lots of water and hope it helps.
This may all be subjective but if I do have gestational diabetes; what does that really mean for me/baby? I know I'll have to watch my diet but are there any reporcussions regarding being induced early or anything? I tried to ask the MW this the other day and she was just fobbing me off with "We'll do the test and then see.."My Debt Free Diary

Do you mean of the risotto? If so, can do later (when I have made it!!!:p).
Being tempted by the online Cath Kidston sale at the moment - wondering if I can justify spending £50 on "stuff" (theres some lovely baby stuff on there that I just don't need but it is lovely!!!!) whilst on maternity leave......whilst OH is at work.....I am getting a guilty pang at the moment which is stopping me!:o0 -

OMG I'm totally with you.
We've just switched to spending on credit card and paying in full at the end of the month 'cause we've got a cashback card with Santander and I am terrified of overspending because it doesn't seem like real money.
I really need a couple more dresses though, boohoo have 20% off dresses but I can't find a free delivery code and I grudge paying it - might just have to bite the bullet though 'cause I know they fit and are comfy. How annoying! My Debt Free Diary

!
I have an Amex one which is cashback too - they are lethal! But I do generally try and pay any amount off I spend immediately I have spent on it....it didn't happen this month though what with moving into a new home and all the expense that comes with that....so I am in 2 minds....but if I delay....the sale items will go (which could be a good or bad thing)....so what to do???:(
Dresses look lovely when you are preggers in this weather.....I am thinking that Topcashback might take some of the monetary hit - then it won't seem quite so much.....!:)0 -
Glad I wasn't over reacting about the facebook comments, although I decided not to say anything as when I think about it in a more rational moment (very rare these days) I know people are just excited about the baby, and mean very well! Had another big weepy hormonal outburst last night as I really don't want to be induced - DH was lovely and made me talk through what exactly I was worried about and then basically said we'll cross that bridge if we have to come to it, and I'm only a few days overdue and still plenty of time for things to start naturally, so I'm trying to think positive today.
I know hormones will have a lot to play in it MrsJ - but try not to worry. I was induced with DD and I had a really good birth experience. Its not all horrific. I was 10 days over, had the sweep etc.
I really liked it in a lot of ways - particularly being a control freak. I was told to be in hospital for 8am on a Monday morning, and I knew I would have the baby on the Monday or Tuesday so I had an end point. I hadn't dilated at all prior to the pessary, but contractions followed afterward and I was put on a trace so I could easily see on the trace what a contraction 'was' as prior to labour you just imagine what it would be like.
I didn't have to labour at home and worry about getting to hospital too early or too late, or being sent home if I had not dilated enough.
After 30 mins on the trace machine, I was free to wander about and do as I chose, and after my waters broke on their own I was sent up to the delivery suite.
Labour was 8 hours for a first baby, with just 30mins pushing time, and my beautiful girl was born on the Monday teatime. Other than the pessary to start things off - there was no other intervention and I actually enjoyed the whole experience! Fingers crossed for similar next time round
Will be keeping an eye out for the birth announcement - good luck with it all xxMarried my lobster in July 2011
