    Eek - 4 overdue'ers, get a move on eh ladies? :rotfl: ;)

Woke up this morning to my husband telling me that Tony Soprano's dead. He had the iPad in his hand so I originally thought he'd been watching the Sopranos - took me ages to figure out he meant the actor. 51 years old as well, so sad.

Arm's a bit stiff from whooping cough vac yesterday but no where near as bad as some of you ladies have had it seemingly - not that I'm gloating, it's still sore!!

    Hello everyone!

    Hope all bumps are well?

How did I get to number 16?! Sooo not ready yet lol
Really feel like I'm walking around with lead weights tied to my ankles now. Not fun. I'm glad I got a lot of my shopping done earlier in the pregnancy because the last thing I feel like doing now is walking round the shops!

Quick question, how many vests/sleepsuits is everyone packing in their hospital bag for baby? Are you taking 2 different sizes incase they come out big?
I was thinking 2 sets in newborn and 2 in 0-3 months, 2 hats, 2 scratch mitts and a blanket. Does that sound enough?

Labour vibes to the bold ladies with lazy babies :-)

My feet are awful and my mum's planning a trip to ikea in the next week or so - dreading it!! I know all the advice is to sit with your feet up etc but it's difficult enough to get comfy at the best of times without having my feet up as well!

I'm hoping to pack as little as possible as I don't want to be lugging loads of stuff around and there are always shops on hand if we need anything else. The list I printed off suggests 3 or 4 sleepsuits and vests in a range of sizes but have more available that can be brought to you...so that's no help whatsoever! I think 2 newborn and 2 0-3 month would be plenty.

Morning all sending massive labour vibes to the overdue ladies, I feel your pain, I went 14 days over with last baby despite having 3 sweeps, I eventually went into labour when I got to delivery suite for my induction.

All this baking is making me hungry, I used to have a kitchen aid it was gorgeous I won it in a competition, I didn't use it all that much though so I sold it on eBay, it did make me quite sad to see it go lol

Well I went to the local birth centre on Tuesday to have a talk with a senior midwife, this was because I had a bad tear/big baby last time it's made me really scared about having this baby I was set on having a section. It was quite helpful, she looked through my notes and told me what was happening at what stage, I actually found out things I didn't know it was interesting, We discussed maybe having a trial in labour instead of going for a section straight away, having early sweeps or induction to try to avoid baby being overly big. Anyways lots to think about, it's made me struggle sleeping because I'm to busy thinking!

Hope we all have a good day take care all xx

Funnily enough I am not feeling as sensitive about the incessant 'you look humungous' comments from my co-workers.

Takling of which, here is the conversation as I walked into work this morning:
COLLEAGUE "Wow how long have you got left in work now?"
ME "Just over 6 weeks, then 3 weeks at home"
COLLEAGUE "Oh my you look like you are about to burst"

Now I do look pregnant, but I am measuring normal and there is no way I look ready to burst. Imagine how mahoosive I will look when there is a 7-8lb baby in there not a 3lb ish one! :rotfl:

It's a real pain trying to put your feet up when you're pregnant. The best position is lying on a bed with your legs going straight up against a wall. But I could never lie on my back because it made me feel faint. Nightmare :D

You should try not to lie on your back as the extra weight of baby compresses on the bug blood vessels and stops blood to placenta etc. If you lie on your back insert pillows under your right side to take the pressure off the aorta.

I've packed newborn clothes in my hospital bag - they are for 'up to 10lbs' so hopefully they will fit (although with all this baking maybe I should pack some 3-6 months clothes?!!). I've got three sleepsuits and three or four vests I think. I've also packed a 'nice' sleepsuit which I would like the baby to wear home from hospital...it'll probably be sick all over it as soon as I put it on, but it's the thought that counts!

I've also packed one hat, a cardigan and a blanket. I asked the midwife and she said they will provide blankets for the baby while in the hospital, so I've only packed a fleecy blanket to put on the car seat when we come home (it's one my mum bought us) and figured we'll use hospital blankets while we're in. If all goes to plan (haha..... :rotfl:) then we might not even stay a night in, they try and send you home pretty quick where we are.

I figure if we are in any longer, or the baby is big, I can always send DH home to get more baby clothes, or pack him off to the Tesco next door to buy some cheapies!

Also, a tip which our antenatal class teacher gave us was to have one bag for labour, and another in the car for after labour which your partner can go and get if you are staying in much longer. So I've got one set of baby clothes and a few nappies in the 'labour' bag and the other clothes and nappies in the bag which will be in the car.

Claree - glad the injection wasn't too sore. I had a dull ache in my arm for a few days after it but it wasn't too bad.

Glad I wasn't over reacting about the facebook comments, although I decided not to say anything as when I think about it in a more rational moment (very rare these days) I know people are just excited about the baby, and mean very well! Had another big weepy hormonal outburst last night as I really don't want to be induced - DH was lovely and made me talk through what exactly I was worried about and then basically said we'll cross that bridge if we have to come to it, and I'm only a few days overdue and still plenty of time for things to start naturally, so I'm trying to think positive today.

Must not bake anything today... a) because I can't stop eating and b) there is no more room in our freezer!!

What's everybody doing today? I might have a waddle to the shops to get some birthday cards, and could do with cleaning the house a bit.... all my enthusiastic nesting a few weeks ago needs redoing now!!

See what I mean? All these rules - I have no idea what way to lie now :rotfl:

Put a pair of shoes on ebay last night, I've wore them once and they were so uncomfortable - but gorgeous. Part of me hopes no one buys them so that I can keep them and say that at least I tried!

Also listed my car on gumtree and got a text asking if I wanted to swap it for another car - eh no!

Morning! :wave:Well.....absolutely nothing to report from me!:( (apart from continued gunge from the sweep which is rather uuggh!).

I repacked my hospital bag last night to fit in with being induced - it was packed for an emergency transfer into hospital from home - now its covering induction and C-section (so perhaps a bit longer stay!).

I have got 4 sleepsuits (2 in each size), 5 vest type things, 2 scratch mitts, a hat, a cardigan, a big pack of nappies (I am planning on reusables but I want to avoid the black poo first so its disposables for the first week until its all gone!) and a big blanket - I figured the blanket could make up for anything else! Tescos is also just down the road from the hospital just in case!

Haven't got a clue how big mine will be after the massive extra incubation period - I don't feel as big as I did a few weeks ago though....which is strange! I realised though by the time I go into hospital....I will have been pregnant over 9 and a half months!:eek:

Hope you all have a good day - anyone doing anything exciting or are we all turning into Delia again???!!! :D
